buffalo_bills
Coming into this game, I truly believed we had a better team than the Jets. And guess what, I still do. We didn't lose because of a lack of talent Bills fans. Despite what happened on the field today, I know we are much much better than this. The Jets came in hungry, trying to prove something to the NFL. We didn't. Not only the players, but the coaches assumed that our great offseason means we just have to show up and play, and we'll get victories. Well guess what, the Jets outworked us and wanted the win more. You could see the Jets were a lot more prepared to play than we were. As for Fitzpatrick, he needs to be better, and I think he will be. Some goes for the defense. Next week, I want to see that fire lit under us. We play a KC team that also got their asses kicked today, so it'll be an interesting game. BTW, I think Spiller will establish himself as one of the games best backs by seasons end, especially if Freddy is hurt for an extended period. PearlHowardman
When the team QB throws interceptions on the first two offensive series of the game the defensive players start to collectively think: Why the F should I even try? birdog1960
this game reminded me of bills - kc opener last year except this year, the bills =kc and the jets = bills. we all know how the rest of the year went for both. hope i'm wrong but it sure looked similar. does anybody think the jets are really contenders? Best Player Available
2nd tier GM, head coach, and all assistant coaches and coordinators. They are all either has beens (Gailey, Wannabe) or flat out suck. BTW who is the OC and why is he even here? Talent level may have got better, although you couldn't tell on the field today. But Gailey is clueless. The Jets like some other AFCE teams own us.
PearlHowardman
The Bills should call Erie County Community College (ECCC) and and hire their football team QB. Fitz' interceptions today were HORRIBLE throws! Simply stupid, incompetent passes. And he probaly could have thrown 1-2 more if the Jets were awake. If I'm someone like Mario Williams, and I see the team QB floundering in preseason practices and game, I'm really not going to waste my time playing hard - when Fitz keeps turning the ball over. Why would I?

cale
You know what - offensively speaking - we continued where we left off last year. This is a true indictment of the front office that couldn't see the ineptidude that half the folks on this board could see with their eyes closed. It's not that we lack talent - we have talent on this team that half of the coaching staff in this league could better leverage. We do have deficiencies in some key positions - but this inability to evaluate our roster honestly and coach and recruit appropriately is simply killing us. You coach to our strengths. We have two (maybe 3 - but maybe with Freddie's injury - two again) running backs that are more than adequate. Yet we insist on running empty backfield options - telegraphing pass with a QB who has a gunslinger mentality with a journeyman's arm. Run the damn ball and live & die by the playaction. I just don't get this coaching staff. C

JoeF
We did suck today there is no question. We sucked throughout the preseason. We sucked at the end of last year. Since a 5-2 start last year we are 1-13 including preseason. This is all true. For some reason I cannot even figure out for myself I still think this team has a shot to be a winning team. Someone needs to shake this team up -- the team I saw today lacked passion and fire for the game and we aren't good enough, no one is good enough, to win without knowing and executing assignments. CJ Spiller played his ass off today--when's the rest of this team going to join him?

There is an opportunity to end the first 6 games 3-3 without much effort (Wins KC, CLE, AZ) and if we can beat SF (highly unlikely) or NE at home (Like last year) 4-2 -- if we can get there we can make a second half run. Does that make sense? There are two types of teams in the NFL: those who have QB's and those who do not. Not coincidentally Buffalo has been without one for an entire season since the late nineties at the least when they last were went to the playoffs. Buffalo will go a another season without the guy consistent enough to get them into the post-season.

Spiller is absolutely electric this guy needs 25 touches a game, regardless of the opponent. Our wideouts vs jets defensive backs = jets advantage on everyone single match up wrong game plan. We never slowed them down on defense, turnovers or not some of the turnovers they still had to drive 65-75 yards and did with no problem. Tom
DLine had no pressure partly because their receivers were so wide open. Sanchez had a 3 step drop & at least 2 guys with no defenders near them. That 'Fitzpicksix' Touchdown to Cromarti was right in front of where I was sitting & I'm still shocked he threw it, Horrible. Really, you need to be motivated extra 16 times in the NFL? If you cant get fired up for a season opener what does it take? As far as Fitztragic, the guy has heart but zero skills. He does good in mop-up time, like most back-ups do, because that is exactly what he is.
frogger
I wish it could be the off-season still, we were great in July...I miss July. On offense, buffalo's WRs do not spread the field we run lots of 6 yard routes Fitzpatrick may have the weakest arm in the NFL, combined with his throwing motion allow corners to jump routes. On defense, no pass rush, I thought they did well against the run. Where were our corners, a pass rush would help them, but it seemed like they were leaving WRs opened intentionally...no pass rush could get there. Special teams were just not special...maybe we shouldn't have a kick off specialist,
