AJ Green is available when the Bills Pick....

Recommended Posts

For the Pats* to move up to grab Green, they will have to give up a lot by value chart. I would not cut them a deal. Now let me ask you something in reverse - if the Pats* offered their first or second for Evans, would you trade him ?

Which first - the one they* got from Oakland for Richard Seymour, or their* own?

(My answer would probably be yes to either.)

I would make a deal. I do not think that Green helps the Bills beat the Jets. I don't know that he would help the Pats against the Jets either. The Jet's corners mostly shut down the vertical game unless the ball is perfectly thrown. The way to win against the Jets is with your Tight Ends. The Bills are lacking there. The Pats have the tight ends but Hernandez was limited against the Jets and Gronkowski and Brady miscommunicated during several key moments in the Jets game. Green is a very slight guy and I think he would have a tough go against Revis.

Slight? 6'4" 212 lbs. Also, everyone has a "tough go" against Revis.

If you haven't noticed, the Patriots are the best at AQUIRING picks, not giving them away.

Watch them turn some second or third round picks into much better picks next year. #33 this

year came from a late 3rd last year thanks to Carolina. Doesn't the stench of the Bledsoe trade

still waft about in your nostrils?
According to the NFL trade value chart, the 3rd overall pick is worth 2200 points. The 17th, 28, and 33 picks would be worth 2190 points, so it would be a even trade. Seeing that we need players, I would do it. I also think alot depends on FA.

Given all of the needs, I do that deal.

The Bills would have 17, 28, 33, and 34....that would allow them to get better in a hurry......assuming they pick the right guys!!!
Edited by 26CornerBlitz

I would do it in a heart beat. Yeah getting an impact player at pick 3 would be awesome but then we have a lot more needs to fill with only pick 34 to do so. Give me pick 17, 28, 33, and a 5th rounder and I do it.

Think about having the 17th, 28th, 33rd, and 34th picks as well as an early 3rd and two picks in the 4th and 5th. Thats a ton of picks and you still get to pick 17th overall as well as 3 other picks in the top 34.

We could fill a lot of needs yeah we help the Pats* but we also help ourselves a lot more. Don't cut your nose to spite your face that deal would be tremendous for us.

People have blasted me for saying this and that's fine, but I have a VERY strong feeling that Dallas is going to want our #3 to draft Mallett. It may sound crazy, but I really expect this to happen. Jones is an Arkansas alum and Mallett would add a ton of excitement to that boring team. Also, Romo sucks imo.

Dallas picks 9th. Without looking at the chart, I want their 1st, 2nd, and another 2nd in 2012 to even consider the deal.

That would be sweet because I feel pretty certain Mallett will bet there at 9 too :D

i would do this deal if we took their better 3rd round pick as well. we will get two great prospects in the 20's and another at the top of the 2nd which if done right would be 3 starters for this team next year as opposed to just 2. think, if we get a right tackle, ILB, and a cb all who start next year then we have a better team.

Just for S's & G's I ran this through DraftTek and it gave us Cam Heyward & Gabe Carimi and the first and then Martez Wilson and Stephen Paea in the 2nd.

hmm, well that makes me feel better about the possibility...

also figure, if WE dont trade with NE and we also dont pick Green, then the team behind us will be the ones reaping the benefits of that trade, and NE will still get Green... something to think about i guess.

I think we should let N.E. do what ever they want and do our picks for us also. Can't be any worse that prior years. They get our picks and there's and give us half the players. Deal?

Frankly, it was a trick question to see how many seriously believe Evans is out of gas with the Bills and needs a change of scenery. Trading within the division and esp to the Pats* would say a lot. I would not do the trade unless we use that pick for a superstar CB to shut Evans down :-) (Ok, I kid with that last sentence).

Given that you like Mallett, would you make that trade ? I think that if Nix is not sold on Mallett, he would make that deal.

What if Dallas doesn't have to trade down to get him? Right now most boards have him at mid first round...he'll need to show a lot at the combine to move up that far.

What happens to Romo then? Say what you will, but he is exactly the type of QB Chan would love to have. He's not elite, but he's better then Fitz.

Also, and this isn't directed at just your post, but isn't the draft chart "outdated" and not the end-all-be-all of draft-day negotiations. I have nothing to substantiate this, but I seem to remember that the draft guys note that circumstance and other variables go into deciding the value of trades. Could be wrong.

I think if there is a rookie salary cap the chart would have to change, probably making the top picks more valuable because of the proposed lack of guaranteed money.

I was reading somewhere that because so many kids came out last year, this draft class is not too deep. If we move down, hopefully the compensation will mostly be in 2012 picks because it seems like they would be better value.

It's obvious to me after watching the Jets handle them, that the Patriots need a major talent upgrade at WR. If AJ Green is there at #3 and the PATS offer you #17 and #32 would you make the deal?

NO !!...first of all thats not enough...second they dont have #32,,,they own the 28th and they also own the #33 Carolinas first pick in the 2nd round.

#3 = 2200

#17= 975

#28= 700

#33= 580

your question should be would you trade the #3=(2200 value) for #17, #28 & #33 =(2255 value) ?

ANSWER: YES !!...but thats not N.E.'s style....they trade down.

Great question! I would be thrilled if the Bills drafted Mallett but I caution you that I thought RJ would be a great qb, and that Trent Edwards would get the job done for the Bills. :D I was however right about Losman, but that isn't much to brag about.

I also agree that if Nix doesn't want a qb at #3, he will make a trade. It's gonna be fun, unless we waste a pick on a cornerback, but Mr. Wilson won't allow them to do that this time imo. Or, so I hope.
