  1. I think a lot of people on this board truly don’t realize how good of a LB Devin Lloyd is. We have been conditioned to look at CB’s, WR’s and IOL’s as that has been identified as our biggest need. Devin Lloyd can do it all. He’s fast, physical, great run stuffer and tackler, awesome against the pass and a phenomenal pass rusher. He had 111 tackles last year, 8 sacks and 4 interceptions. Watch the highlights. These sacks aren’t garbage sacks, the dude has legitimate pass rushing moves. If the Bills can trade for their 7th pick and get Lloyd, not only would we get ourselves a game changing defensive player who has true MLB instincts and playmaking ability who can get after the QB, but with the trade of Edmunds you free up a lot of money to get more pieces. The Giants could throw in Bradberry and now the Bills could still use their 2nd -4th picks to get quality value WR and CB. I would be very ok with this move. The team most definitely would be upgraded from the past year.
  2. The only two guys that even make sense for the Bills are Gardner and Jameson Williams. Both guys are going to go right around pick 7. Giants pick is 1,500 Bills pick is 720 so Bills have to make up a 780 point difference. Trading Edmunds is probably worth a mid 2nd round pick. # 45 is worth 450. still a 270 point gap Bills 1st round 2023 = this years 2nd rounder…value = 330 So depending on the value 2 1st and Edmunds would get it done Pending the value of Edmunds
  3. I always knew that Wallace was the weakest link to the team followed by Edmunds and lo and behold he gives up big yardage to Kecle to crush their SB dreams. I now feel the same with Dane (might need to see more of him) and the cb2 position.
  4. I think Blake Martinez would have to be coming to Buffalo in a deal involving Edmunds.
  5. I definitely see why we could move up this year.. There are no big time QB’s or consensus can’t miss players, so the premium paid should likely be lower than normal years. I can only really see us doing this for Sauce, Hamilton or Jameson and then grab our linebacker in the second. Certainly makes sense. We plan on drafting late in RD1 next year anyway, and here we are this year being “meh” on most players that may be available when we pick….. if there’s a guy we feel is a massive piece of the puzzle, and it takes 25, Edmunds and next years 1st, I say do it.
  6. How about: 25th, 2023 1st, Edmunds, Hodgins, Moss for 7th, Bradberry, Toney then draft either Hamilton, Thibodeaux or Williams. All of whom could be very impactful. Hamilton can be moved all over the field and perhaps even line up at LB on passing downs I would prefer Williams though. the Bills may believe Dodson is a capable starter after a few years in the system. Could also draft an LB in rounds 3-4
  7. You think Edmunds + 25 + next years first + our second this year for 7 and their second would work? If so I would do it. Trade up for a game breaker prospect and at the traded up second draft a replacement lb. There are four or five I feel could step in day 1 and while not replicate Edmunds success at least give close to it. As well as a bunch who if not relied on to do everything day one could likely thrive in a year or two. Guys like (in no particular order) Chad Muma, Leo Chenal, Christian Harris, Troy Andersen, Brian Asamoah, Channing Tindall, Brandon Smith and Quay Walker. Honestly, the more I think about it the more I think this is a great year to draft a lb in the second or third round even if we don't trade Edmunds to let them sit a year behind him and take over next year.
  8. More like 25, 57, Edmunds and 2023 2nd or more. Depends on what they think Edmunds is worth.
  9. It would have to be 25, plus Edmunds, plus a second or third. Giants want to gather draft capital in a rebuild. Maybe Schoen was a big Edmunds fan? The point is, if Beane sees a top tier talent at a position of need (LB) and can pull the trigger, he’ll do it (huge talent at LB and not have to pay big bucks to Edmunds, cap management, etc.)
  10. To Giants: 25th, 2023 1st, Edmunds, Hodgins, Moss To Bills: 7th, Bradberry, Toney 7. Jameson Williams 57. Kenneth Walker III 89. Troy Andersen 130. Jelani Woods QB Allen RB Walker, Singletary HB Toney WR Diggs, Williams WR Davis, Toney Slot Crowder, McKenzie TE Knox, Howard, Woods Y.E.S.
  11. I wonder how many other picks this and next year it would cost, even with Edmunds. 25 to 7 will be EXPENSIVE! It can't be for a LB, create a new hole and over spend to fill it. That's not smart management in spite of the cap savings (of not paying Edmunds) because you lose the cheap labor in the picks you trade away.
  12. The only one I’d do this trade for as well. I feel we get more of an impact out of sauce than we do out of Edmunds+25. But I’ve been wrong before.
  13. There is no answer to the OP question other than CB. There is no greater need this year. Even the 5th best CB would be an upgrade over an uncertain Tre and Dane. I would not extend Edmunds and let him walk after this year. But you are not going to find a MLB at #25 that is vastly better than Edmunds. WR and OL are needs. You can make an argument that a guard at #25 should be an upgrade over Bates and even Saffold this year. But both of them are serviceable for 2022. If Brown regressed badly than you can make a case for OT at 25 but they will open the season with Brown at RT and hope he gets a little better in pass protection.
  14. I’ve long advocated moving on from Edmunds, but trading him, our first round pick (presumably) and more, just to take another off the ball LB would be foolish. There’s no Micah Parsons in this draft. Giants are up against the cap anyway, so I question how much interest they truly have.
  15. If it happens and they trade Edmunds and draft a new LBer it will show who they blame for 13 seconds.
  16. Surprised none of youz “NFL Fans” have posted this news. I was driving from Buffalo to home and listened to Sirius XM NFL Radio the whole way. So today, Zig Fracassi said he has sources in Buffalo that indicate the Bills are looking to make a trade with the Giants to move up to the 7 slot. Giants get more picks and Edmunds (?) to build their team, and Bills get an impact player to take them to Super Bowl. What impact player do we pick at 7? Linebacker (I can’t find the audio but that’s what Zig indicated). Looks like I’m winning my own ball cap.
  17. Ike is coming off an Achilles tear. He is the one guy that I am sure will not be available to start the season. The expectations with Ike is week 10 or so before he is ready - Achilles tears are brutal. Tre’ - the talk and expectations are he is ahead of schedule and may be ready to start the year or at most misses a game or 2. The Bills based upon normal injury management will most likely limit Tre’ some especially in training camp, but ACL tears are injuries NFL/College players get over and return to normal. Now onto the OP - Based upon this coaching staff and how they use rookies - there is not one position that a drafted player is going to be a difference maker to start the season. Going back to the beginning of McD time as coach - 2 draft picks (Edmunds and White) have started as rookies. Josh, Oliver, Rousseau, keep going 2nd, 3rd, 4th round picks etc - they all have been worked in slowly. Josh was earlier than planned with the failure at QB, but the plan was 2-3 weeks on the bench and work his way in. I don’t care what position they draft, but there is almost no chance they have an opportunity to be a regular starter. If it is CB - they might get some snaps to start, but my guess is Tre’ and Dane are 1-2 for a big part of the early season. A WR will see some snaps, but really as a fill in to help during some 4 wide and maybe as a returner. OL would be great for depth, but I think they have their planned starting 5. Same with DL and LB and TE. Even RB - You know especially early that Singletary is getting a bunch of the snaps. They just are not going to trust the rookie to do everything until he has proven it - especially blocking. So how much impact can he bring giving the team 5 carries and a couple of catches a game. Therefore, my guess is that the Bills are going to look at BPA - just as they have the last few years. They have limited numbers of guys with first round grades and based on the interviews none are RB. So I would think that they would draft whatever player had a first round grade and they would start with CB and WR as looks. If all of the first round talent is gone based upon the interview - I would assume they may look to trade back or they will follow their board and if there is a running back with superior athletic talent that trumps positional value - they might go there, but it is a very limited if. I am not not sure they believe either of these RBs exceed value by so much that they can trump the lack of importance of the position. We will see, but if people are expecting a rookie - even a first round rookie to have a huge impact - I don’t think you have been paying attention to the team. There is probably 1 position that impact might occur - DB other than that - there is a tiny chance of impact.
  18. I think the back 7 of our D is going to have to come down in cost going forward. The DL has come down a bit, but with Milano being paid, you have to pay Edmunds or move on, you have to find a CB 2 and both safeties want money, it’s not going to be possible to get everyone. Personally, I’d keep Poyer and send Edmunds packing.
  19. Cornerback is the clear #1 since we are one injury away from needing to put an unproven UDFA into the starting lineup. Due to the fact that we frequently play in 4 wr formations and just lost Beasley and Sanders, I think a deep threat wr is also a need. I am not a fan of Edmunds and I would like to draft a replacement who plays more physically who can get reps in 4-3 alignments this year and become a full-time starter in 2023.
  20. Seeing that this question is asked in every thread I will say the popular answers are "CB, WR, RB" and some say a replacement for Edmunds.
  21. It depends really what the Bills want. Troy Anderson reminds me a bit of Edmunds in that you feel physically it is all there, but instincts concern you and he picks the wrong gap a lot against the run. But he has good size and athleticism if the Bills are looking for guys to play that middle zone coverage. I think Smith has the capacity to play in a 4-2-5 similar to what the Bills run but his physicality and his tackling are the drawbacks. He doesn't square his shoulders for contact he just kind of dangles his arms out in the general direction of the offensive player. I can see why Quay Walker has been connected to us as well. I just don't have him graded as high as I think he will go so it becomes a value thing. If he got into the 3rd round I'd be very interested in him. I do like D'Marco Jackson for us on day 3. App State kid. He remind me of Milano he is a bit undersized but a really good coverage backer who just seems to have a nose for the football. Channing Tindall as well if he gets to day 3 as a result of being overshadowed by some of the other stars at Georgia could be interesting. Got the physical attributes you look for.
  22. If I can make one recommendation for us dumb dumbs. Maybe separate the MLB from the OLB, with the OLB's being actual linebackers and not EDGE guys. With our loss of Klein, I think OLB could very well be on the table for us at some point, any many are clamoring for the Edmunds replacement. Those players are pretty different at LB
