  1. Hoecht is a beast and is like a chess piece that is an athletic freak that can be moved all over the D, and even play some LB.
  2. Will be interesting to see the impact Hoecht and Ogunjobi can make after the bye...two big pieces on D that should provide significant help. Both should be ready to roll after the bye and have an extra week of practice to get reacclimated.
  3. As much as Leslie Frazier was blasted for being "vanilla" and refusing to adjust in big games to change things up, he was exceptional game to game and keeping a high level of consistently good defensive play. We tend to forget that.
  4. Edmunds used to carry WR on routes down the seam at times in coverage...Bernard doesn't give you that and doesn't make up enough ground in pass coverage too often... Usually plays with good instincts but lacks explosiveness to get places with speed too often.
  5. It's not lightning in a bottle so much as they use the bye week really productively most times. Bills tend to go on long streaks of wins around this time...for whatever reason it's like they need time to correct whatever the issue is and the bye week usually gives it to them. Also, WTF was up with that casual 4th down backhand flip to a wide open Johnson? Set your feet and throw the f***ing ball properly. Allen is starting to get a little overconfident in doing "whatever" because he always got away with it and is starting to do it when he doesn't need to.
  6. Reminds you of what happened last year heading into the bye week doesn't it? Blown out at Baltimore followed by one of the worst games for a QB in the modern era against Houston... And then we lost 2 more times all year and once was a meaningless loss when Allen didn't play the last game and we rested tons of players.
  7. Walker is a Man Child out there...I mean he has been destroying the interior of defenses regularly and I don't know why they kept taking him out of the game on 3rd downs... Still has a tendency to maybe not always be in the right place but my lord this guy is going to be a problem within a year or two...this might be Beane's best pick of his career if he plays to his potential which is All-Pro level, IMO.
  8. Just another unacceptable game from a focus, being ready to play standpoint and honestly just being prepared. Same crap heading into the bye as last year. We know how they responded and I expect them to do the same again, but c'mon. Why do they always have to go thru this and waste their opportunity to build an insurmountable lead for the 1 seed? I mean how the hell do you line up Offside on the first play of the game which negates a turnover that could have turned the tide of the whole game?? Instead Atlanta scored a TD and starts feeling pretty good. I'm also sick of these idiotic 3rd and short calls to do some sort of reverse where we can't even exchange the ball clean leading to a turnover or punt. How about just have Allen shnowplow twice if needed?? I mean it's a game they needed to have and they act like they can just waste time calling "cute" plays again. I don't know why Allen didn't just call his own number there to be honest and say F you Brady. Honestly this team has started playing like the Sabres, maybe they need to stop going to their games and hanging out with them...clearly they are bringing the Bills down and they aren't lifting them up.
  9. Gameplan specific? Bills probably do more game plan specific personnel things on offense than any other team.
  10. They have a 4th round pick doing that now.
  11. They have had almost no success at developing QB's other than Chad Pennington who far overachieved with them.
  12. Other than having the name Manning, what has he done that says he is going to be a good NFL QB? Dude has not been good at Texas and would be talked about as a 4th or 5th round pick with a different last name.
  13. Bosa with another forced fumble...that final play on 4th down where Rattler fumbled was from Bosa reaching in and knocking the ball out as he went by, not from Epenesa who was closing in from the other side.
  14. Something most people including myself missed at first...the final Saints play on 4th down where Rattler fumbled was caused by Bosa flashing behind and reaching in not Epenesa...another forced fumble by Bosa.
  15. Probably not...likely they will be somewhere between 10-15th, which is good enough to win a SuperBowl with Allen. The key is that they simply play that way in the playoffs and not like they normally do which is worst defense in the NFL that can't even force a punt.
  16. Return of the the Haack, pump up the world... Return of the Haack, watch my flow... you know that I'll be back... That is absurd leg strength for back then...those numbers would look pretty good even today
  17. I mean makes sense as long as it wouldn't give them a first down...but in a key situation like end of game or end of half with no time left, that really isn't a concern.
  18. Well I guess it's lucky it's only 4 weeks into the season then. Not like there isn't 3/4 of the year to improve once they get significant pieces back on defense and a lot of younger players in key roles get more experience. I know you think real life works like Madden where players are 100% at all times from game 1 but real life doesn't work that way.
  19. That's great. Luckily what matters is how many points the other team scores versus how many we score. Also, 12th in yards per drive is above average since there are 32 teams and 16th would be average. Or are we going to pretend math doesn't exist now either? How's all that rushing working out for the other teams? Outside of Baltimore the Bills have trailed for under 5 minutes of game time the other 3 games.
  20. I think there always has been hasn't there? They make a motion with their hands as if they are calling for the ball.
  21. I mean Tua just put up 315 yards the week before against the Pats and then had 146 against us and averaged 1.4 yards in the air per completion and at one point midway thru the 3rd quarter was averaging -0.5 yards in the air per completion. Rattler had over 200 yards passing in every other game this year and put up 126 yards against us. Fields just came off putting up 218 yards against the Steelers with a 72% completion rate and had 27 yards against us with a 27% completion rate. Seems a little odd all these players have better games against other teams since our D sucks so badly. Also seems odd that since our D sucks so badly it's averaged allowing 16.5 PPG and 243 YPG over the last 3 weeks without any of the opponents ever reaching 300 yards of offense even when accounting for the poor run D. I mean that's baseline average in the NFL these days, really not even...around 320-330 is average. Seem like you might be overreacting to how "bad" the D has been because you don't watch other games which means you have no perspective of what is normal and what isn't around the NFL. Is there room for improvement? Sure. Are they some sort of "worst in the NFL D" like many here think? Not even close.
  22. I believe the Bills sacrifice some level of being good at defending the run to ensure they don't get beat over the top and choose to "live with" not being as stout against the run. Don't feel like they are happy with some of the run play obviously since there are too many sloppy run fits, poor tackling and players not in the right position as well as plenty of bad lane rush discipline against QBs that give them easy gains after being flushed out of the pocket. That being said, not many teams are capable of beating the Bills by running the football. Simply won't be able to string together that many plays consistently on drives to keep up with them scoring wise. I also think the Bills know that and are essentially OK with giving teams "easier" yards on the ground because it is far less likely to hurt them than a 60 yard pass would. Additionally, the Bills are also near the top of the NFL every year in TFL's which are designed to get teams in bad down and distance situations that are favorable to the defense. Their failure to capitalize on those frequently enough is the more maddening part and would stop most of the other things from being an issue, IMO.
