How to make baseball the most relevant sport again? Steroids
Big Turk replied to Draconator's topic in Off the Wall
It never will be. It has zero and I mean ZERO chance to ever compete with the NFL again. No sport does. 75+ of the top 100 TV shows every year are NFL games. A random week 10 NFL game draws more viewers than most World Series Games, NHL Stanley Cup Finals Games, NBA Championship Games and one off events like the Grammy's or Golden Globes. -
They don't need to be in the witness statements. There are a lot of people who have no idea what those words even mean. But just for the purpose of this discussion, I will post the definition of Collusion: col·lu·sion /kəˈlo͞oZH(ə)n/ noun: collusion secret or illegal cooperation or conspiracy, especially in order to cheat or deceive others. "the NFL Owners were working in collusion with one another to prevent higher contracts among players" So whether the witnesses knew when they told the reporters that NFL owners working together to prevent players from having higher contracts, especially QBs, after the Watson deal is collusion, that's the literal definition of the word. If someone says they witnessed someone in a courtroom speak under oath, then told them what they said on the stand was a lie, it doesn't make it not be perjury just because the person didn't use that word when they told the reporter what happened or didn't know what the word meant. The actions define what happened and whether it was collusion, NOT the words being told to reporters by witnesses.

I'm being fully honest. I also walk between 17-20K steps a day on my walking pad while working at my stand up desk. -
Allen got his guaranteed money after the salary cap went up by a huge amount compared to when Watson got his. The salary cap is 279 million versus 208 in 2022. Effectively Watson got 1.1 times the amount of the Salary Cap at the time in guaranteed money while Allen got 0.89 times the salary cap. So while yes, Allen got $20 million more than Watson in guaranteed money, it is based on a much larger pool of money available

Pegula Divests from Knight Hawks after pulling out of Rochester Lease

I am willing to bet coverage of the NFL Draft had higher ratings than any NHL game this year, and likely far higher ratings. -

NHL teams don't have their entire payroll covered by the TV Contract Revenue. Far more of a "Have and Have Not" situation in the NHL. -

The NFL is, by far, the biggest sports league on the planet, so by default any team that is essentially tied with futility with an NHL team is automatically far more futile, especially considering the much more even playing field of the NFL and how much parity there is. Also, I don't care how many times the Browns made the playoffs, they are among the most inept teams in the NFL and are equally a laughingstock for their QB situation they have mired themselves in. -
Wow....that could be a bombshell and open the NFL up to serious litigation and monetary damages... However an even stranger narrative is that both the NFL and NFLPA fought to keep the information secret. Why would the NFLPA not want this to get out? https://www.yahoo.com/sports/nfl/breaking-news/article/nfl-collusion-ruling-arbitrator-reportedly-finds-nfl-roger-goodell-encouraged-teams-to-reduce-guarantees-for-veterans-144903905.html the arbitrator, Christopher Droney, wrote the following: "There is little question that the NFL Management Council, with the blessing of the Commissioner, encouraged the 32 NFL Clubs to reduce guarantees in veterans’ contracts at the March 2022 annual owners’ meeting." That suggests both the NFL and Goodell wanted teams to collude to reduce guaranteed money when handing out contracts to veteran players.

Drew Brees reveals right arm 'no longer works'

I had both hips replaced and I am pretty much functioning normally including working out and lifting weights, etc... Are there any limitations with the shoulder replacement or have they got those up to almost being back to normal? That's what Brees himself states, now "click bait" is considered the person themselves stating his limitations? Strange world we live in -
That's really sad...it is crazy how much of a toll football takes on these athletes as the years go on, even for younger guys like Brees. He said if he wants to play catch with his kids in the backyard, he has to throw with his left hand because his right arm "no longer works". Said he didn't want to retire but he was left no other choice and if he could still be out there playing he would be. Also said the Dolphins medical team was spot on in their assessment of his injuries but that the surgeon gave him a window of time that allowed him to still play with the surgery he did. https://www.marca.com/en/nfl/new-orleans-saints/2025/06/22/685733f0e2704eeea68b45bf.html

Chad Johnson says Stevie Johnson the best route runner ever seen
Big Turk replied to Lafromboise's topic in The Stadium Wall
Best screen game I have ever seen and he had a wide variety of them and they all were designed and worked exceptionally well... I remember the one year when Spiller was electric, he became a huge weapon catching screens...almost once a game during that year he was turning screens into huge gains. I would also like to have seen CJ Spiller in this offense...he could have been a 1500 yard back...I forgot how electric he was and what a great reciving back he was...watching his highlights was like "Whoa!" He was also an electric kick and punt returner as well. -
A man who frequently travels for work wants to make sure his wife doesn’t feel lonely while he’s away. He walks into an unusual little shop off a back alley, and the old man behind the counter shows him something special: “It’s a magic d!ldo. Just say where you want it to go, and it’ll go there on its own — no hands, no batteries.” The husband’s intrigued. The shopkeeper demonstrates: “Magic d!ldo, the drawer!” And just like that — WHOOSH — the d!ldo zips across the room and lands gently in the drawer. “Say the phrase, it flies into action. Say ‘Magic d!ldo, stop!’ to make it stop.” The husband, thinking this would be a perfect gift for his wife while he’s away on his long business trips, buys it immediately. That weekend, before flying out, he gives it to her. “Just something to help you think of me while I’m gone,” he says with a wink. That night, curious and a little bored, she decides to try it. She lays back, takes a deep breath, and says, “Magic d!ldo… my vag.” WHOOSH! It zips across the room and gets to work. She gasps. “Oh my god… this is incredible.” Minutes pass. Then more minutes. She’s breathless, overwhelmed — and a little concerned. “Okay… Magic d!ldo, stop!” Nothing. “Magic d!ldo, STOP!” Still nothing. It's going rogue. She begins to panic. The thing’s not stopping, and it’s really committed to its job. In a frenzy, she grabs her purse, throws on a coat, and waddles awkwardly to her car — still being serviced, mind you — and drives herself to the emergency room. She screeches into the hospital parking lot and half-hobbles into the ER, breathlessly explaining to the front desk nurse, “It’s a magic d!ldo! I can’t get it to stop!” Just then, a skeptical police officer who happened to be nearby overhears the commotion. He rolls his eyes and mutters under his breath with a smirk, “Yeah right… Magic d!ldo, my ass.”

It happened in a game the Bills were leading by 30+ points at the end of the game where the other team looked more interested in trying to figure out what they were ordering for dinner than playing football at that point. In other words, it has no real relevancy to what would happen during a real game when the teams were still playing for something. Sure, he might be on the team for Special Teams, but that doesn't make him some secret 1,000 yard WR hiding on the roster like many people seem to think with these random WR's

Big Turk replied to Lafromboise's topic in The Stadium Wall
Watkins had a good game or two against Revis but that was clearly after his prime and during a season that Revis had nagging injuries most of the year that limited his effectiveness. As for Johnson, why not ask Revis himself what he thought of him? Revis himself once said of Johnson: “He’s probably the most underrated receiver in the league … he’s tough to cover.” Revis himself once said of Johnson: “He’s probably the most underrated receiver in the league … he’s tough to cover.” -

He had some key catches on 3rd down/TDs that made Revis look really really bad...specifically remember a short slant for a TD that Revis was running the other direction on
