Sure, but I wouldn't discourage him from keeping it versus handing it off...just have to have a better plan than Pittsburgh did when he does it. The more he handles it and tries those juke moves with a slippery ball, which will be far more slippery than any other ball during a game he has had to deal with, the greater the risk of fumbles.

It matters the most in terms of ball security. There is a very real and noticeable difference in how well you can grip the football and how slippery it gets. The colder it gets, the less grip you have and the slipperier the ball gets. Fumbles at these temps increase by 35% of normal.
