  1. I think everyone is taking this as a slap at Buffalo and in my opinion it had nothing to do with Buffalo as a city or team. It sounds as though that the league may have been worried about a perception issue. They were hesitant for a team like Buffalo or Cincy to sign Vick for huge money and immediately name him starter and franchise savior. The league most likely wanted it to appear that Vick was humbled a little bit and had to work his way back. I cannot really disagree with that idea. I think more negative publicity would have been out there had Vick signed here for a huge contract and been the face of the franchise right off the bat. As it turned out, it probably worked out perfectly for the league. Vick did his time on the bench and has earned the right to play and is now back in the spotlight. Don't take it personally. The NFL is a multibillion dollar industry, the commissioner and league office need to be involved in such a large decision that has major impact on the league.
  2. reports have them close to signing Kyle Williams to an extension. Coincidence?
  3. I really have no expectations for the preseason. I just want to see some football and I want the Bills to come out injury free. The players I am most interested in seeing are Dareus, Merriman and Barnett
  4. I don't care where his heart is, I just hope his body is not on the Bills unless it is for the veteran minimum. He's all mouth and no a$$.
  5. The thing that bewilders me is how much time people spend on this board complaining about other peoples perspectives. Some people have a very pessimistic view of the Bills current situation (some call that nagativism) while others have a very optimistic view (some people call that Overly Optimistic). And then there are those who fall in between. Some people bash every move the Bills make, some call every move the final piece of the SuperBowl puzzle. That difference of perspective and opinion is what makes the board interesting. If every single poster agreed, the board would be pointless. I enjoy reading the different opinions. If people are being overly negative or just being jerks, I ignore the posts. If I disagree, I post my disagreement. Thats what the board is for. Stop worrying that everyone on the board does not share your opinion and enjoy the diversity of perspectives.
  6. I say we offer them a first rounder. They can have Aaron Maybin or Leodis McKelvin
  7. Perfectly stated. I was thinking the exact same thing.
  8. we should not expect this kid to come in and have an immediate impact as a rookie. The difference between College and pro is huge. If he does play well in year 1 it will be a huge bonus, but to expect it is probably a bit foolish Marv used to say "the best rookies are last years rookies" and that makes a lot of sense
  9. The Bills had their Press conference at 6:30. Buddy needed to get home and get to bed. He'll be back at it tomorrow after his early bird breakfast at Denny's. Sheppard should be signed by noon. Maybe we'll even get a UFA signed before Matlock comes on.
  10. he was talking about Whitner and Jamarcus Russell
  11. the morning show isnt bad. But when I get out of work and flip on those two idiots I get annoyed. But they are the only place to get any sports so I am forced to listen to atleast get sports on the 20's inbetween their incessant babbling.
  12. i look at it this way: Crowder is a lot better than Poz so I am all for bringing him in
  13. He tweeted the otehr day that he just finished a 7 mile run on the beach. Sounds to me like his Achilles is fine.
  14. I'd like to see the Bills sign Marc Colombo and Flozell Adams. Both would come relative cheap. One could start at RT. The other could add veteran depth at both positions and spot start when needed.
  15. I think Langston Walker is available
  16. trueblood re-signed with TB today
  17. which ever one keeps the Bills in Buffalo
  18. I would rate him in the twenties with the other starting QBs on teams desperate for a QB
  19. I think all 5 players have a chance to have great success. But I think Newton has the highest bust potential and lowest overall chance of success. I personally think Dareus, Miller and Peterson will have the most succcess early on (first 2 years) while Green and Newton have a chance to be superstars, but it might take a few years of failure to get their.
  20. they just called it "Current Events"
  21. I would say no to trading for Palmer for a few reasons: 1.) He is not a long term solution to our QB situation. Even if he did not have diminished skills due to injury, he is at the end of the career agewise. 2.) He is shot. He is not the same since the injuries 3.) He would not want to come here anyway 4.) Would not want to give up a draft pick to get him 5.) Ridiculously high salary would be wasted money.
  22. I would have liked them to be more proactive in addressing the QB position last year. The fact that Fitz wasn't even their top pick for QB on our roster last year is funny to me. Any moron could see that Trent sucked, except them. Trent should have been gone and another QB should have been brought in (McNabb, Bulger, Delhomme). Then they should have also drafted Colt McCoy in Rd3. Cleveland did it right. They brought in Delhomme, Wallace and McCoy). It would have been great having Delhomme, McCoy and Fitz as our 3 QBs. Fitz is a good backup. We need a #1 and we need a developmental QB. I am interested to see who they bring in when the League opens for Business. That doesn't help an argument for Fitz being good. He had quite a few INT's. If they happened when he was not under pressure, that's not a good thing. At least you could partially excuse it if they happened under pressure.
  23. I don't think he is a fit for the Bills, but I love Chad. He is friggin' hilarious. I love his celebrations. He brings some entertainment value to the game. I see Cincy on TV and I watch to see what he's got up his sleeve. He clearly loves the game and works hard. But he also has fun. I love players like him. I enjoy watching guys who seem to be having fun out there on the field. Hines Ward, London Fletcher, Brett Favre when he was with GB. I love tha passiion and fire these guys have.
  24. Proven success wth Fitzy? 4-12 is not success.
  25. I agree with this. The D is slightly better, the offense is the same. The schedule is tough. I expect to be drafting early again next year. 3-6 wins max.
