  1. Haha. Wasn't thinking Kolb. I don't think he's an upgrade from Fitz and it would cost a ton to get him. I am not advocating a trade for Flynn or Clausen, just wanted to see what people think. There aren't really any attractive options available (or potentially) at QB this year: McNabb, Hasselbeck, Delhomme, Bulger - over the hill Vince Young - head case. Maybe worth a risk? Clausen, Moore, Flynn - young guys with upside Not much beyond these guys unless I am missing something.
  2. Dalton seems very intelligent. He won a ton of games in college and the very next team in the draft thought he was worthy of being selected. Kaepernick, I don't know much about other than what I saw at the combine. But many on this board and many of the 'experts' said he fit the type of QB that Gailey likes, so he seemed like a fit. As far as Williams filling a bigger need, I would disagree. Starting QB is far more important than Nickel corner, IMO.
  3. Anybody interested in potentially trying to trade for Matt Flynn or Jimmy Clausen?
  4. I respect your opinion, but you have no way of knowing this for sure. Mallett is rumored to be extremely immature and selfish. Add in the reports of drugs use. It's possible that with money in his pocket and time on his hands, the drug use could become a problem. Even if it doesn't, it's possible that he will be unhappy sitting on the bench but still being expected to put in the work, especially if he gets a chance to play a little bit tastes a little success. I have no idea what will happen, but I am interested in following it.
  5. I will wait and see how Luck perfoms in his senior year before determining his worth. Who knows, we might have the 1st pick in the draft and thus would not have to give up anything other than that pick to get him. There are people on this board saying that Luck might not be at the top of the draft board next year, we'll have to wait and see.
  6. I put QB at the top of our need list, so I would have leaned toward taking Gabbert in Rd1. But there is no denying that Dareus is a solid pick. I definitely would have taken Dalton or Kaepernick in Rd2 and definitely would have grabbed Mallet in Rd3. This draft fell perfectly for the Bills to grab a QB in each of the first 3 rounds, but they chose to pass, just as they did last year.
  7. It will be interesting to see if Mallett is content to work hard and sit behind Brady for several years. I could see that situation getting ugly.
  8. I would have liked Dalton or Kaepernick on Rd2 instead of a DB
  9. Kendric Burney DB 5'9" 186 North Carolina Mark Herzlich LB 6'4" 244 Boston College Patrick Devlin QB 6'3" 225 Delaware
  10. I apologize if I completely missed the intent of your post. GO BILLS.
  11. you might want to look up the definition of 'fact'
  12. I have no problem with those who love the draft or whatever moves the team makes. My problem was the arrogance of the original post and the attacks on anybody who isn't blindly optimistic. I personally don't beleive the Bills will be competitive for a playoff spot until they find a franchise QB, but I am excited to see Dareus make some plays on the DL. I think he's a big upgrade from Stroud.
  13. I'd be interested in some eveidence to back your optimism rather than your "I know you are but what am I response" Your blind belief that every one of the Bills picks this year will be instant Hall of Famers and that Fitz will suddenly stop being mediocre and turn into Johnny Unitas is comical and your refusal to see the fact that the Bills are one of the worst teams in the league and have been for a very long time completely discredits any of your posts. Go ahead an book your trip to the Superbowl. I think I'll hold off a little while.
  14. I agree with this completely. The picks we made are to replace current FA's not to add to the roster. This defense did not get better, just younger and cheaper. And to the OP, I find you message to be pretty arrogant. Anybody who doesn't agree with your blind optimism and has the audacity to question the great and powerful Front Office is a "half wit with a keyboard". We get it, you'll find a way to love every move the Bills make and will scream at anyone who doesn't. Since the point of this board is to debate differing opinions, maybe it is you who should "piss off" if you don't like it.
  15. Don't be so sure. I realize there is a lot of time left between now and next season, but I have no reason to believe that the Bills will be any better than 2010, therefore they will be drafting at or near the top of the draft again.
  16. and especially if Gabbert turns out to be good
  17. It was reported that Gabbert would have been the Bills pick if Dareus was gone. There's no guarantee that he will pan out, just like any player in the draft. But I would guess the draft grade was a B+ because the grader thought we should have looked to address the QB need before taking a DL
  18. I'd rather re-sign JP Losman and Trent Edwards and Gibran Hamdan then take anyone off that list
  19. I assume it is because the Bills don't have a franchise QB and passed on one to take a DL in a DL deep draft. Nobody is debating that Dareus is a talented player, just not smart to pass on potential Franchise QB's when you don't have one.
  20. WOW. Dude is huge and seems strong and athletic. Would love to see him develop on a Ted Washington type NT.
  21. Whitner being gone would be the only good part of this whole draft
  22. If we keep Fitz and Brown and cut Brohm, we will have a great backup and a 3rd string scrub but still no great #1 QB
  23. Still hoping we bring back Florence
  24. if that's true for you, I'm not sure you are doing it right
