The title is certainly misleading. But she did specifically say it. Although I don't believe that is what she meant. I don't think she meant to say "We were planning on hiring another candidate, but Rex blew us away". What she meant was "We did not have a targeted #1 candidate. We were open-minded throughout the process and wanted to find the best fit". Terry actually made this point when he was talking about Doug Whaley telling him something to the effect of "when you meet the right candidate, you will know it". Rex was it.

I totally understand and respect this viewpoint. What he did was sickening. Hopefully he has learned from it and will grow to be a better parent instead of living in the old mindset of "My Daddy used to whoop me so that's what I will do". Over time, we find better ways of doing things. Hopefully he has grown. As a football player, there aren't many better RBs.

I think the Bills will be aggressive in finding a new QB and this is a reasonable target. I would not be surprised if some sort of deal is worked out.

4th rounder seems low for a 25 year old QB with the success he had. He would certainly be an upgrade over EJ, right? and would be better than any QB we could draft this year. Maybe offer a 3 this year and a conditional pick next year that could be as high as a 2 if he meets certain criteria (playing time, wins, stats, playoffs, etc).

With this in mind, would you be interested in offering them something for Foles? If we gave them our #2 pick this year or our #1 next year, they could use that as ammo for their attempt to get Mariotta. Not saying that I would do this, just raising it as a discussion point.

Thanks Bandit. Based solely on your original post, since I don't follow college ball, I would like Bridge in the 5th round to come in and compete with EJ and whomever they sign in FA and learn the position at the NFL level.

That's not true at all. Several team did not allow coaches permission to interview elsewhere. I saw a report of one today. Don't remember which team. I thought it was strange because it was a position coach looking to interview for a Coordinator spot but it was denied.

Great runner but I would not want to be the team to overpays him. You can get value at the position for a lot less money. Same reason I hope they don't re-sign Spiller.

That is the million dollar question. At this point EJ is the only viable option on the roster. As Rex and Whaley have said, they will be scanning all available sources to find a better option or atleast another option to come in and compete. I personally like EJ and still feel like he can develop into a quality starter. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm not. I would be thrilled if the Bills can go out and get a legitimate upgrade at the position and have a playoff ready QB, sadly I don't know if that guy will be available. The available options have been hashed and rehashed on here over and over. Every one of them has warts. Unless Manning gets cut and we can sign him for a year or two, I think we are going to have to bring in another project (Sanchez, Mallet, Locker, etc) and a draft choice and let them compete. Hopefully one of them steps up and takes the reins.

The parking pass is a good idea if you want to park close to the stadium. It saves you a bunch of money. They do have payment plans, I think it is 6 automatic payments off of a credit card. Call the ticket office, they are great to work with. Unless you have friends you are trying to be close to, I would recommend looking at upper deck seating as opposed to sec 126. Better viewing angles and probably save some money. We started out in section 311 row 29 and it was still a great place to watch the game. We are now in Row 1 after several years of upgrades.

My understanding is that they can have a second interview with him today only but they cannot "officially" hire him. I think Marrone has to be kicking himself for walking away from a HC job in the NFL. Mike Mularkey did it and hasn't had another chance at it. Pretty risky career move. I expect Marrone to go back to college as a HC, might have to wait a year.

I think you're looking for things to be bother by. Terry has said the same about the Sabres front office. He doesn't want Yes men. He doesn't want people to be afraid to voice an opinion, to make a mistake or to be wrong. But in the end, he wants people who are on board with what is right for the best interest of the team.

Do you expect them to come out and say "Well, I wanted Joe Smith, but Rex wanted Dave Jones so Rex cried to Kim and she made us pick Dave Jones.". Its never going to happen. I wouldn't expect them to always agree. But good leadership builds consensus and moves the team forward for the greater good. Grown ups can disagree but still understand why a decision makes sense. It's only a problem if you are a childish turd like Marrone.

I saw it reported yesterday that Rex had told Pepper that there is a job for him here is he doesn't get the promotion to DC somewhere else.

Will be interesting to see how this turns out. Article states that he "preserved evidence" because he knew the cops would be coming to his house.
