How we should find a franchise QB
Maddog69 replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well. Lets say you are considering two prospects in Rd2. If one has this brain type, maybe you pick him over the other. I wonder if Russell Wilson has it. -
How we should find a franchise QB

I caught a bit of this interview last night. Pretty interesting stuff. Well, it is certainly another useful bit of info that might be able to help rank potential prospects. If you have 2 players rated similarly in all other areas and one of them has this brain type, it might give them the edge. -
Because Dareus was there and chose to meet him. Coaches cannot reach out to players until mid-April.

I'm pretty sure he is not allowed to under the CBA.

why not post this in the other Josh McCown thread instead of creating a new one?

Kane and Incognito, a sign of things to come?

Did someone force you to read the thread or take the time to post? There are tons of threads, if you don't like the topic, move on to another. -
Kane and Incognito, a sign of things to come?

Pegula has said he wants people around him who are not afraid to speak their minds, not afraid to offer unpopular opinions and not afraid to take risks and make mistakes. Maybe these moves will blow up in their faces, maybe not. But what I think we can expect if for both organizations to continue to make bold moves and take calculated risks. Is it just me, or does Byfuglien seem like a bit of a punk? Maybe the "leadership" on the Jets was the issue. It almost seems like these guys were jealous of Kane's still and continued to screw with him. -

its too bad there isn't a way that teams could play each other and then compare records to develop standings -
Ultimate Offseason 2015 *EDITED

Sounds like a reasonable plan. I might substitute one guy for another but your overall plan is solid. The QB I think I most prefer them to sign is Mallett, because I think he has the most potential (in my opinion). I don't think they will sign Iupati. I would not be surprised if they sign Cameron (but the concussions scare me). -
I "watched" the first few minutes of the game at Otto's in Cheektowaga. But it was so crowded and the TV was so small, I couldn't see anything. So I went home and listed to the rest of the game on the radio. I had to be to work at around 4:00 so I was listening to the end of the game in the car. When we won, I ran into the building and all of my co-workers were screaming and freaking out. What a great memory.

This really is a stupid argument. Let me try to make it easy: Cleveland held the #4 pick and put it up for auction. The Bills have them the #9 pick, the 4th round pick and the #1 pick in 2015. Ergo, the price paid by Buffalo for the #4 pick (and thus for Sammy) Was 2 First round picks and a 4th round pick. There really is no argument. Except for if you want to be silly and try to argue that the cost for Sammy was the pick we acquired from Cleveland and not take into account the cost of acquiring that one pick. So, technically, Sammy cost the Bills the #4 pick. The #4 pick cost them 2 Ones and a Four.
-
That's simply not true. And I'm not saying Sammy is not good (potentially great). Look back at the rankings. Sammy was usually in the top 5 players overall. Evans was 7-10, OBJ and others in the teens. I think it is more than fair to look back at the draft and wonder why the Bills fell in love with Watkins when other quality options were available without surrendering additional picks.

Report: Broncos could part ways with Manning
Maddog69 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We have EJ. He was 2-0 in the first two games of 2014. Put Peyton in for game 3 and beyond: CHAMPIONSHIP. -
Why be afraid to admit what the Bills gave up to get the pick used on Sammy? Before the trade, the Bills had the 9th pick in Rd1, their 4th round pick in that draft and their #1 pick in 2015. After the trade they didn't have any of that. They had Sammy. So, they game up those 3 picks to get Sammy. Not hard to understand and that isn't even looking at the fact that several other WRs in that draft are nearly as good, as good or possibly even better than Sammy. It is possible that the Bills could have actually traded down, got OBJ and extra pick while still keep their 4th rounder in 2014 and their 1st rounder in 2015. Pretty questionable trade, in my opinion. Even if Sammy turns out to be good.

Because the equipment guy had a bunch of extra letters laying around and the kid has a cool name.

I would love to see him play for the Bills just for selfish reasons, but I agree with you. I wish he would ride off into the sunset. The longer he plays, the more he diminishes his legacy. That said, do you think he might relish the opportunity to come to the Bills and take the AFC East away from Brady and the *Pats? -

MMQB: Bills 2015 Draft projections (plus AFC east)
Maddog69 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The vast majority of QBs taken at any point in the draft are developmental guys. People here seem to forget that. No QB picked this year is going to lead his team to the playoffs. It happens on rare occasions but it is not common. -
Bills to go in little-talked-about direction at QB?
Maddog69 replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, no sure thing QB is going to drop in our laps (in fact, EJ is probably the best option). We need to: 1.) continue to build/maintain a premier defense 2.) build the OL and the running game 3.) get better game planning and play calling from the coaching staff 4.) bring in multiple options at QB and let them battle it out for the starting spot. But I would like a starter chosen early in camp so that they can build rapport with the OL, RBs and receivers. -

I'll go on record as saying I don't the Bills to trade for a QB this offseason with the possible exception of RG3. (Obviously, if we could trade for a legit Playoff QB, I'd be OK with that, but none are available). I don't want to waste a pick on someone elses backups or garbage. Sign a couple UFAs, draft a kid and let them all compete EJ. -
I'd rather just trade a 5th rounder for Schaub.

Everyone we currently have on the roster is crap. Everyone we don't have on the roster is good. Lets go get him.
