  1. maybe you answered your own question. "He's been backed by a top a 10 D 3 times in the last 5 years (#1 in 2010). This has resulted in 1 playoff year, 1 playoff win. "
  2. I agree that I don't expect any of the 3 to be cut. I don't agree with the "short leash". I expect whomever wins the starting job to keep the job all season (barring injury). I don't want to see a QB carousel. I don't want a guy to be afraid to play the game and make mistakes for fear he will be benched. I don't care which guy is the starter, but I do want the Bills to stick with whoever they pick. Rex showed that kind of patience with Geno in NY, I expect the same here.
  3. Puts his spot on the roster in jeopardy for sure.
  4. I like that all 3 guys have been given an opportunity and a challenge. I've thought all along that Cassel was the baseline. He has the most experience and most data points to give a reasonable idea of what can be expected. I think he is the starter unless either EJ or Taylor take over the job during training camps and the 4 games. We have not seen any of them with our players and our offense against another team in an actual (albeit meaningless) game. I expect the starter to be obvious by game 3. I could not care less which one it is. I think the offense can be successful with whichever one wins the competition. Are any of them pro-bowl caliber, I don't believe so. But there isn't one of those guys available right now so we have to make due.
  5. I am sure the Front office has considered every option available to find a decent QB and I assume they will continue to do so. Unfortunately, the QB tree is pretty bare right now. We are probably going to have to make the best of the three we have for this year. Based on early results, it seems like Cassel is the odds on favorite to be the guy, but there is a lot of time left in camp for someone to step up. Lets hope one of the three starts to really take the job and do well because I don't think there is another candidate waiting in the wings.
  6. Two additional picks.
  7. Technically, Sammy was all of the picks. If he's as good as expected, the cost will be meaningless.
  8. I fully expect all 3 on the opening day roster and beyond.
  9. So, it took 3 picks to get Sammy. Like I've said before. When the draft started we had those 3 picks. When it ended we had Sammy and not those three pick.
  10. Not true. They traded 3 picks to acquire 1 pick. They used that 1 pick on Sammy. "Gave up" and "Traded" are the same exact thing. People argue that Sammy cost only the pick used to pick him. Draft pick #4 in the first round. And they refuse to acknowledge the true cost of acquiring that pick. It really is a silly argument.
  11. Can't believe this is still being argued. The Bills gave Cleveland 3 picks to acquire the pick used on Sammy. So in essence, they used three picks to pick Sammy. Before drafting Sammy. They had the three picks. After drafting Sammy, they did not. Its pretty straightforward. Not sure why people don't get it.
  12. More likely someone in Green Bay, right? That's where he was working for quite a while before coming back to Buffalo.
  13. after a scoring play and at the end of the game to celebrate a victory.
  14. Worst period in team history belongs to the Rigas Era.
  15. It seems that the new coaching staff are not tied to any one of these QBs and are planning for an open competition. I would not leave Taylor out of the conversation either. To me, he is most similar to Kaepernick and he is my dark horse candidate to take the job. Either way, I do believe that Rex and Roman will be evaluating all 3 and picking the one that is best. I can't wait for July so we can see them on the field and get the evaluation started.
  16. After the offseason we've already had, I don't really care who they draft. I feel pretty confident they will be picking players that fit what they are looking for, I'm not going to get bent out of shape regardless of who they draft. In my mind, I would like to see an OL and a TE with our #2 and #3 pick, but I'm good with whatever they do.
  17. Gotcha. Thanks. I missed that.
  18. Whats the benefit of waiting until May 12? Rodak talks about waiting but doesn't explain why they should.
  19. I think we will continue to play a preseason game each year as an ongoing tribute to Ralph Wilson.
  20. I honestly don't care about Wins and Losses in preseason (obviously always want wins). But I like to watch individual players and overall efficiency/effectiveness of the Offense and defense especially when the projected starters are playing.
  21. I love having week 1 and 3 at home. Week 1 because I'm just excited to see live football after the long offseason. Week 3 because that's when the starters play a lot and you get a better sense of what the regular season will look like. Only 4 more months to wait.
  22. That's fantastic. Thanks for sharing this. You are one lucky son of a gun.
  23. I agree with this. I think Fred, Kyle and Brian have had long, productive careers with the Bills but none of them have been extraordinary. I just don't think they belong on the wall with the All-Time greats. Give them some sort of recognition for sure, but I just don't see them belonging on the wall. Now, if we end up having some playoff games in the next couple years and these guys contribute, then I would reconsider. But as of right now, I would vote NO for putting any of them on the wall. I would say Frank Reich deserves to be on there before any of the current/recent players.
