  1. I agree with this. The reason Taylor is the starter is because he is able to make plays with his legs when nothing else is there. His speed and elusiveness are his strength. He's not a great pocket passer. If he is unable to get out and run safely, he loses his effectiveness and in my opinion that puts EJ ahead of him in terms of ability to make plays and help the offense be productive. Let TT sit for a week or two and let EJ play. Both showed in preseason that they can run this offense and be productive.
  2. The refs also missed calls that would have gone against us. For instance, one of our DBs grabbed the facemask of the Titan receiver who then missed a catch. Ref never threw the flag. The refs are human. Bad calls generally even out over time.
  3. If it hasn't been posted already, Bush was with the Jets from 2012-2014 so he has experience with the coaches and the system so it should help him step in and play right away.
  4. If the Bills can put up 24 points or more, they should be in good shape. If they are not able to pull out a victory in this game, I won't panic like many on this board. Other than the New England game, I think pretty much every game on the remaining schedule has a reasonable chance to be a victory for the Bills. They are in a great spot right now. They need the injury train to stop and they need some players to get back in the lineup.
  5. Agreed. And I would add © upon returning to the starting role, Tyrod struggles mightily.
  6. Who knows whats true. A bengals beat reported said on Twitter that the Bengals knew Taylor was banged up and were planning for EJ. But AJ Hawk said on the radio that they were "Zeroed in on Taylor" and they felt fortunate to play Seattle and Buffalo back to back because Wilson and Taylor play similar styles.
  7. Based statistically on the preseason games, he most certainly was the best QB of the three. Many other factors went into the decision (most importantly Rex has a huge hard on for Tyrod).
  8. You guys realize EJ won't be playing against Cincy by himself, right? Tyrod has done a decent job, but he's certainly not lighting the world on fire. EJ won't be asked to throw for 400 yds and win the game on his own. If he is, the results will most likely be disappointing. But if the defense has another strong game, the run game starts to work a bit, the O line holds up and the players keep their emotions in check and don't take stupid penalties, EJ just needs to play a solid game and the Bills will be in good shape.
  9. I am concerned about Tyrod's injury status, I am also confident that EJ can step in and perform adequately if Taylor misses time. I know I am in the minority, but I still have faith in EJ. The coaches seemed to be helping him improve are his areas of weakness. If he has to step in and play, I expect him to perform well enough in the offense to put the Bills in position to win games. I'm not the least bit concerned about the QB controversy at this point. Tyrod has shown why he was picked. Now if EJ plays a game or two and looks great, then Tyrod comes back and struggles, you might have something. But I'm not looking that far into the future. With quality posts like this, anyone reading it is thinking the same thing. Thanks for the input.
  10. Well, if that is going to be a requirement, the number of posters will diminish drastically. LOL.
  11. Holy Schmidt, he's been excellent.
  12. Boy did we dodge a bullet. Cassel playing behind this line with no running game and no Sammy would be a recipe for disaster.
  13. We also got away with a facemask (I think it was Gilmore) defending a pass and snagged the WRs mask. Ball want uncaught and no flag was thrown.
  14. Here's how I see it. Tyrod did enough to win yesterday and made some spectacular runs. Tyrod has flaws. I expect Tyrod to improve with experience. I also expect the overall performance of the team to improve as our key players hopefully return healthy and as the players and coaching staff get comfortable with each other. Timing and cohesiveness should improve. Once Roman figures out the plays that work best and the ones that don't more consistency should develop. Do I think Taylor is terrible, No. Do I think he's great. But I want to see the Bills stick with him and let things develop. I've been disappointed with the way games have gone at times. But I am trying to be patient. Taylor is a work in progress, as is the entire offense (and defense for that matter). I am excited to see what happens over the next several weeks. I'm disappointed that we didn't look better against the cheaters and I am really annoyed that we lost at home to a Giant's team that I believe we should have beaten. But 3-2 at this point is pretty solid and sets us up for a good run. We need to win against Cincy at home this week and we definitely need a win against the Jags in London. 5-2 going into the bye would be tremendous. Then hopefully we get Shady and Sammy at full speed after the bye and make a run at the playoffs. That said, I see no problem critiquing the play of Tyrod and the rest of the team on a week to week basis. Pointing out poor performances and areas that need improvement is not a sign of uneducated fandom. Going to either extreme with Taylor right now seems to be a mistake to me. Expectedly, his performance has been a mixed bag so far. Here's hoping he keeps growing and improving.
  15. I'm not bashing Taylor. He pulled out a victory. Just saying he didn't perform well for most of the game and I don't think he will survive long running the way he needed to today. And don't exaggerate too much. Look back at EJ's comeback games, most specifically the Carolina game. Tyrod still hasn't distanced himself just yet. One lucky win does not make him a hero. Hopefully he continues to grow. True judgement won't be able to be made until later in the season after we get some playmakers back and develop some chemistry across the entire offense. GO BILLS. The week is HUGE. We desperately need a win at home against Cincy.
  16. Why do NFL players refuse to wrap anybody up anymore? All you see are guys putting a shoulder into the runner and trying to knock him down. That fails to work a lot and it also results in lots of injuries. I'd like to see form tackling return to football.
  17. Harvin had a drop? If we're talking about the same pass, Taylor missed him BADLY. And "Clay didn't get his feet in" = Taylor delivering the ball late and out of bounds. You guys are working pretty hard to make excuses for Taylor. It wasn't all him but he was awful for most of the game. Hell, his TD throw to Hogan was terrible. Hogan made a tremendous play. So my MVP is Hogan.
  18. Speak for yourself. I agree with him. Tyrod made 4 good plays. Lots of bad decisions and bad throws. We can make excuses for him all day long, but the truth is, he is very limited. The Bills are lucky to escape with that win. It was nice to see Tyrod make the plays necessary to win the game but that type of performance overall is not going to win many games.
  19. 100% agree. I remember thinking that during the first two homes games. I would love to see them throw it to him any time he has single coverage. There have been a bunch of times you'd see the safety moving inside and leaving Sammy 1-on-1 pre-snap. That should be an immediate tip off to Taylor to look for Sammy.
  20. Well, technically he missed one game. But how many games was he extremely limited or completely out of due to nagging injuries? It is definitely becoming a concern. He is a very talented player, but can't help the team if he can't stay on the field.
  21. Interesting. I wonder if somthing changed (workout regimen, training staff, gain/lose weight, the way he is used in games, etc) or if it is just a matter of getting hit by bigger, stronger players in the NFL. Or simply just coincidence that he has seemingly been fighting some injury pretty much ever since he got to Buffalo.
  22. I don't follow much College football. But I was curious if Sammy had these lingering injury issues during his college career. Does anybody know?
  23. And what was with the fair catch on the 5yd line? Get the hell out of the way and that goes into the end-zone for a touchback.
