Is it possible that some here on this board have a ridiculously over-inflated opinion of Spiller? Year after year he puts up mediocre numbers and the experts at TBD continue to blame stupid coaches for not using him correctly. Granted, we've had stupid coaches. That point can't be argued. But most people in the football world view Sean Payton as an innovative offensive mind. If Spiller was as good as some here claim, it seems logical that Payton would be able to use him. My personal opinion is that Spiller is a gifted athlete but he is dumb as a bag of rocks. He is not mentally capable of comprehending a complex offensive scheme. He depends on his athletic ability to make a few dynamite plays here and there and leaves some fans thinking that the offense should be built around him.

[closed]Mike Rodak Probably Wants to Bury This

They are both contributing, but he was not wrong to bring up the fact that the off field issues should be a concern. -
Barbarian, I think you owe us this.

That TD pass he threw to Preston Brown was a thing of beauty. LOL. -
What's the BS excuse if we lose to Miami this week?
Maddog69 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
these threads are idiotic. There's an excellent chance the Bills lose this game. It's a very long season. Pretty much every year when I look at the schedule, I count on splitting the division games. I'm not going to panic if the Bills lose this week. They certainly could win this week but it's not the end of the world if they lose. -
Watkins: Tyrod Taylor must gain trust in the OL

I think Sammy needs to worry about his own game and not comment on anyone else. -
This looks to me like a sleezy law firm trying to get out in front of a future transaction.

Fitz is better than Geno. But I don't think Fitz is good enough to get to/win in the playoffs.

I think it goes both ways. QBs need to help out the receivers with good ball placement and not leading them into big hits. But WRs need to bail out their QB on occasion when the pass isn't perfect. Like I said before, Watkins is supposed to be a top receiver in this league. The Bills moved up in the draft and got him. How far he has yet to show that in most games. On that particular play, you would like to see your difference maker make a difference. It's the same with the high priced guys on the D-line. You expect those guys to come through when the game is on the line and for the most part, they failed this week. TT, Watkins, The D-line, the coaches, the whole team needs to do better.

That's what bugged me a little bit about that play. It was not a great throw, but Sammy needs to catch that pass. The great receivers make those plays when their team needs them too. Look at the ridiculous catch that Amendola made on the throw from Brady. That was spectacular. That was a tough catch than this one would have been. Sammy is supposed to be an elite receiver, Amendola is not. If the Bills are to reach their goals this year, Sammy is going to need to perform like a top receiver.

You can't treat W2 like the GD Super Bowl...

The Bills defense not having any answer for the *Pats offense was the worst thing to me. The D was supposed to be our strong point and they just got destroyed. That's like always thinking your Big Brother is the toughest guy in the world and then watching him get his a$$ kicked. Kind of deflating. -
These trade threads crack me up. We spent most of the offseason saying all 3 of our QBs sucked. Now we want to trade our #3 QB for a 1st round pick. People on TBD are delusional and it is hilarious.

anyone expecting to come out of the first 2 games 2-0 was highly optimistic. The Bills have to prove their worth. They have to prove that they are different from the Bills teams of the last 15 years. I'm OK with 1-1. I would not be surprised with a loss next week. I'm still feeling confident that the Bills finish the year 10-6 or better.
-
I think you are both right. The Pats pretty much controlled the game from the first quarter. Our defense rarely slowed them down, let alone stopped them. The only reason the final score was close was Belicheck's arrogance. He wanted so badly to embarrass Rex that he almost let the game slip away. In the end, the final score was close, but in you're honest with yourself, the Bills got dominated (especially by the Cheatriots offense).

Yesterday was a measuring stick game. It showed the Bills that they have still have some work to do. The *Pats are the top dogs in the AFC and they have been for a long time. They gave the Bills a good old fashioned smack down and put them in their place. That said, the Bills are 1-1 (to be honest, I was expecting 0-2 and with that, I still thought 10-6 was doable). I'm disappointed with the loss yesterday and especially disappointed by Rex and the coaching staff and by our supposedly dominant defense. They were pathetic yesterday. I fully expect the Bills to rebound and I expect 10-6 or better. That said, this week will not be a walk in the park. Miami is backed into a corner right now. We can't expect to stroll in there and win easily. Rex better be preparing the boys for a battle.

This thread is a drastic overreaction. Taylor struggled quite a bit in this game, as did many of his teammates and the coaching staff. He still made a tremendous amount of plays and if Sammy Watkins is able to come down with that last catch, would've had a chance to drive down for the game tieing score. Taylor is still learning how to be an NFL starting QB. He completed over 70 percent of his passes and helped put up over 40 points. This was a learning experience for him for sure. I'm interested to see his future development. People expecting a guy to show up and play like Brady in his prime right out of the gate is idiotic. And to the guys saying this game shows EJ should be starting, that idiotic too. Some of you will remember, I'm one of EJ biggest fans and I would be thrilled if he were the starter right now but that's not because I think Tyrod did poorly yesterday. I'm happy we have two good young QBs. Now that Tyrod is starting, I want the Bills to stick with him and let him continue to gain experience and confidence.

Next three games decide the season

If we run the table, we won't need anything else to happen. 15-1 pretty much guarantees a wild card spot. -
Trying not to be a homer, but we should win Sunday
Maddog69 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In my opinion, the Bills have not shown me enough yet for me to feel like they "should win" this game. They have been dominated by the *Pats for a long time now. The Bills are on the upswing and the Pats might be coming back down from their ill-gotten pedestal. But this is still going to be a battle. You've got to knock the King off the mountain if you want to take over that spot. I think the Bills can win if they play their best (and if the *Pats haven't found a new way to cheat). I'm just not ready to say its a game they should win. But I am very pumped up for the game and really can't wait to get out to the stadium Sunday morning. -
You can't single it down to one side of the both. Both Offense and Defense have to be on top of their game (and special teams too). If the Offense plays well and scored 30 points but the Defense gets blown out, we still lose. If the defense holds them to 7 points but we can't score, we still lose. We will need a complete game from all facets of the team to have a chance to win this game.

Pats Fan Nervous to come to the Ralph
Maddog69 replied to JP's Voice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Most of the interactions I've witnessed with opposing fans has been fairly good natured. In the instances where fights or other negative situations happened, it usually started with the opposing team's fan being obnoxious/rude and looking to get into an argument. I've seen a few instances where drunken idiot Bills fans verbally harassed opposing fans. But the vast majority of the time, the opposing fans are treated with respect and show respect back to the Bills fans. If the opposing fans are planning on coming to the game looking for trouble, they can surely expect to find it. If they are coming to watch the game and have fun, they can probably find that too. You may have to ignore some rude comments, but I would not expect physical violence. -
Sammy - Time for this dude to start playing ball.
Maddog69 replied to jumbalaya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I understand the frustration and the desire to see more production from Sammy. He is supposedly and elite talent and a game breaker and fans want to see him used in such a way that allows him to demonstrate that talent. Other team do that with their elite players. As to the question of "why so much focus on getting the ball to Sammy instead of just throwing to the open receiver"? My answer would be because Sammy is supposed to be able to make big plays happen with the ball in his hands so I want to see the team get the ball in his hands. I will say that, from my seats in the stadium, I didn't think Sammy was double covered that much. They rolled the safety to his side of the field sometimes but the safety stayed away and let the DB single cover Sammy. At this point, this is a total non-issue for me. Lots of games left on the schedule. We got a big win against Indy. Tyrod hasn't had much chance to develop chemistry with any of the receivers yet. Lets give it 5-6 more games before being concerned with Watkins' production. I won't even get into the 'cost' of acquiring Sammy, LOL. That's been argued over and over. -
I live approximately 15 minutes from the airport (between the stadium and the airport). I park in Drive 5 off of southwestern. I am routinely home by 4:15-4:30 and I don't leave my seats at the stadium until the game is over. My opinion is that you could safely schedule a 6 o'clock flight without any worry at all and you could chance it with a flight as early as 5:30

I read a few weeks ago that they were working on a deal with Bradham and were fairly close. Hopefully something gets worked out soon.
