  1. To me, the reported interest in McCown and Matt Moore tells me they like EJ and will give him a solid look this year before addressing the QB position next year if need be.
  2. Tannehill is the perfect comparison. Miami stuck with him and he progressed. The Bills have yanked EJ around. EJ's career stats so far match nicely with Tannehill's rookie year.
  3. If Tannehill is your floor for a "Franchise" QB, then Hell yes, EJ can be one.
  4. I don't usually do this, but the first thought in my head when I heard Hartline was cut was "Damn, He's the type of guy the *Pats will sign and get tremendous production out of".
  5. How do you define "franchise QB"? I reserve that for the great of the game and I don't think EJ will be one of those. But I do believe he can be a successful NFL starting QB and help lead his team to playoff victories. I think he can be on par with the second tier of QBs behind Manning, Brady, Brees, etc.
  6. I would have little respect for anybody who can honestly answer this poll either way. Too many variables, not the least of which is defining "Franchise QB". In my opinion, those a few and far between. Most of the QBs are not what I would call "Franchise QB's" like Montana, Elway, Brady, Manning etc. A franchise QB is a HOF QB. Most QBs are not that, but many of those are still good enough to win consistently.
  7. should be a "too soon to tell" option? I'm still optimistic that he can become a good NFL starting QB.
  8. Like I just posted in the shoutbox, this is an easy post for a guys claiming to have sources. When it doesn't happen, he defends it by saying "they couldn't get the guy they wanted in FA, so they are keeping EJ for now". Its a win-win for Leroi.
  9. Cutting Manuel does nothing to benefit the Bills. It cost more to cut him than keep him. Unless he's an attitude problem (and there's no evidence of that), then cutting him is pointless. Sounds more like an anti-EJ troll comment than an inside sources tidbit.
  10. EJ Manuel has to be very happy with the idea of signing McCown to compete with him for the starting job. Definitely puts EJ in the drivers seat to be the starter.
  11. Absolutely. Would be a solid veteran additional without breaking the bank.
  12. Yes, but next years potential FA QB class looks to be very strong. Maybe that's the plan. Get through this year, if EJ steps up that great, if not, sign a guy next year.
  13. Sadly, there isn't a QB on the market to get excited about.
  14. It's available for purchase by one of the tabloids or websites for lots of $$$. Not for purchase by the average joe.
  15. Multiple reports on Twitter. Check out Profootballtalk.com. They have several reports. One of the sites, don't remember which one, Tweeted this morning that they were offered a chance to bid on the tape but refused.
  16. They have offered it up to the tabloids and TMZ's of the world to see who will pay the most for it.
  17. Scott Bischoff just posted a series of Tweets that said Dez Bryant recently switched agents to Roc Nation. It is believed that his former agent was paying blackmail money to keep the tape hidden but that Roc Nation will not pay the money. So the extortionists are trying to get The Cowboys or Dez to pay, but neither will.
  18. I could live with EJ, McCown and a rookie (say, Bryce Petty) for this season. If one of them doesn't step forward, then next years available FA QB class looks a lot more impressive.
  19. Odds are in EJ's favor at this point.
  20. Look at everything the Pegulas are doing in downtown Buffalo right now. Anybody who thinks that a new stadium in downtown Buffalo is not going to happen is fooling themselves.
  21. I find the timing of this rumor very interesting. On the same day that stories emerge of Clay being close to re-signing with the Dolphins, numerous stories pop up that the Bills are interesting in him. Could it be that the Bills heard Clay was close to a deal with Miami and leaked their interest on purpose to hopefully get Clay to hold off on signing a lesser deal?
  22. I'm still afraid the NFL won't allow the Pegulas to own the Bills since they already own the Sabres. We need to get to the bottom of that.
  23. While I personally think EJ is our best chance at developing an above average QB, I wouldn't expect him to be their "Only option". I do believe they will sign one of the best available UFAs to compete with EJ for the starting QB spot. EJ will not just be handed the job.
