  1. Looking at who is currently available, Mallett would probably be my #1 choice and then Sanchez. Plus draft a QB in Rd2,3 or 4. We are in desperation mode at this point, no high quality QBs out there. Bring Mallet/Sanchez in to compete with Manuel and hope for the best.
  2. Exactly, most of the world could care less if they are gay or not. It is sad that this subject is even newsworthy.
  3. They were also a couple plays away from being 7-9 or worse.
  4. I'm in the minority on TBD, I think EJ can be an excellent starting QB in the NFL. He has many physical tools needed and he has high character and work ethic. I would love to see Hackett utilize EJ's athleticism more and build the offense around his strengths. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do in camp. He will have 3 years in the same system and if he fails to capture the job coming out of camp, it will be on him and nobody else. I would expect the Bills to bring in another experienced QB (Sanchez, Mallett, Ponder, Hoyer, etc) plus a 3rd or 4th rd pick to compete. May the best man win. It seems logical that EJ would have an advantage in the battle for the job because he's been here. Only time will tell.
  5. I would not want to see Reich as the Jets HC.
  6. Not to mention that this trade is nowhere close to enough to acquire the #1 overall pick. a Second round pick this year (50th overall), a #1 next year and a great defensive tackle with 1yr left on his deal and off field issues. We would need to give up probably 2 more #1s to move up that far. Remember the Rams gave up the #6 overall pick plus a second round pick in 2012 along with their #1 picks in 2013 and 2014 to move from #6 to #2.
  7. Congrats on your retirement and THANK YOU for your service.
  8. Surprised they were not asked if/when they will be meeting with the Pegula to discuss the plans for the future
  9. I'm not supporting Chris Polian, I know nothing about him. But the tank job they did to land Andrew Luck was nothing short of spectacular. They tanked that season as soon as they knew Manning was out for the year. Sheer Brilliance.
  10. Yep. And better gameplanning and playcalling to take advantages of the strengths of their players and mask any weaknesses.
  11. I'd be OK with that.
  12. Personally, I'm not a fan of Cousins. Bradford would be the best of the bunch if he becomes available but I think STL will keep him. Other than him, Mallett would me my #2 choice followed by Sanchez. Then draft a QB in Rd3 or 4 and have a competition with EJ and Tuel also in the mix. The best man wins. Similar to the Seattle competition with Flynn, Whitehurst and Wilson. Nobody expected Wilson to win that competition the way he did and be the week 1 starter.
  13. The Bills should not waste another dollar on him. RBs are a dime a dozen. Go find one.
  14. Because Bill fans are desperate and will cling to anything that looks like an upgrade over the crap we've had a QB since Kelly retired.
  15. by all accounts, our receivers were not able to get open against the Raiders. THE F&CKING RAIDERS. Tell me again how Sammy makes the game look easy? He's made some good plays. He's also quit on routes shows some very poor body language when things don't go his way (AKA: Pouts). I think Watkins is a good WR, but we should stop making excuses for him. The other rookie receivers (Beckam, Evans, Brandin Cook even Jordan Matthews) have faced challenges too and have looked tremendous.
  16. My thinking is that one of the top 2 slides a little bit and the Bills try to trade up to the 17-22 range to get him. Not saying it will happen, but it would not surprise me.
  17. If this is the case, could we see them give Whalley another year and have him promote Schwartz as a 1 year interim HC?
  18. This is exactly the point. Let's say you buy a Mercedes, fully loaded with all the bells and whistles and pay 3x the sticker price for it. No doubt you have an amazing vehicle that you will be thoroughly pleased with. Now lets assume your brother in law goes out and buys a Mercedes like yours with all the Bells and whistles at sticker price. You both have awesome cars, but you will kick yourself in the butt for overpaying.
  19. Just for arguments sake, you say that if you let Whalley pick a new HC this year and fire him next year that no new GM is going to want to be stuck with that coach. Wouldn't that be the situation this year if you fire Whalley but keep Marrone?
  20. Wow. I would be stunned if Marrone stays and Whalley goes. Absolutely stunned. Any chance we bring in Bill Polian as GM for a year or so and then he transitions the position to his son? (Chris, I think is his name). I read somewhere that this was Bill's plan in Indy before he was axed. Not sure it is a great plan, but it could happen.
  21. I agree with this. People hate Russ Brandon for some odd reason. Maybe they put all of the issues of the last 15 years solely on his shoulders just so they have someone to blame. Personally, I believe he has done an excellent job in keeping the organization afloat in Ralph's final days and helping with the sale process and transition to the Pegula's. I don't believe he will have a role with the football operations side of the business moving forward, but I do believe he will be a major part of the Pegula Sports and Entertainment business. He is great at what he does, is excellent at marketing and from some friends who know him, he is a really great guy with strong local connections. I don't really understand the hate towards him. I think the Bills are lucky to have him. As for Kelly assuming Russ's position, NOT IN A MILLION YEARS. Love Jimbo, but he is not qualified and not smart enough to do 10% of the things Russ has been responsible for. In my opinion, the closest Jim Kelly gets to working for the Bills is if the Pegula's decide to use him in some sort of Ambassador role for marketing and potential UFA recruitment purposes. I do not expect Jim to have a major, day-to-day role with the Bills.
  22. Will definitely be less excited for the First round. We usually have a draft party with some friends, we were just talking about whether or not we will still do it this year. I suspect we will, but it will be less interesting. I have a gut feeling that the Bills will again mortgage the future and trade a 2016 #1 pick to get back into the first this year for a QB.
  23. This is something I have thought about. I think one of the Biggest issues with the Bills organization is that they are stupid. They are aggressive at the wrong times. Trading up to get Sammy when there were several other receivers who have shown to be excellent players. I won't argue with whether Sammy will be the best out of all of them over the long term, because non of us knows that. I will say that the organization would most certainly be a better shape right now had they stayed put and taken OBJ because we would have an excellent WR and still have our #1. In my opinion, the talent evaluators on the team should have know that there was other elite talent out there at the WR position and known that they did not have to make the trade for Sammy and give up that 2016 #1 pick. I personally still have some suspicion that trading the 2015#1 pick might have been done as a bit a sabotage by Whalley and Co. Not having a #1 pick coming in to 2015 would most likely be looked at negatively by any GM candidate that the new owners would by interested in. So trading it away might atleast buy Whalley an extra year.
  24. I would be very surprised if Harbaugh has not at least been discussed by the Pegulas. Not sure if it would get past the "hey what about..." stage. But I would think they've at least pontificated on whether he would be a viable option.
  25. I keep hearing about this "game breaking speed" Spiller supposedly has but I have not once witnessed it in his career. He's had some nice runs and has some quickness. But he is not a home run threat. He has never in his career taken a ball the length of the field for a TD like Hill did last night for Cincy. He gets 40 yards and gets caught from behind (maybe he gets winded). Spiller is, by far, the most over rated player in the history of the Buffalo Bills (with the possible exception of Doug Flutie). Spiller has never been a game changer and has never demonstrated being worthy of a top 10 pick. He had 1 tremendous season. There are countless UDFAs who have put up better production than Spiller. Seems like a nice kid. Not real bright and not really the weapon he was purported to me. Good Riddance to him.
