The Patriot Way: NFLPA grievance

Wondering if you combined two thoughts here. What does lube have to do with being tossed in front of a bus? -

sadly, they still would have been better than us the past decade. -
Conflict Between Bills' Front Office and Marrone?
Maddog69 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's really not what he said. The point of the conversation was that Jeremy got Marrone to admit that the deep throw to Woods was the #1 read (or Alert, as Marrone called it). If the safety stayed deep, the next throw was to Watkins in the crossing pattern and finally to the checkdown. Orton basically ignored the deep route. He immediately looked to Watkins, when the safety took that away, he went to the dump off rather than being aggressive and giving Woods a shot at a deep pass when he was 1-on-1 with a DB. -
Officials Massaging the Game Thread
Maddog69 replied to Storm Front's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed 100%. Perfectly stated. Notice Denver and NE are in the most penalized category, so that pretty much takes away the argument that the league is trying to "massage" games to help them win, doesn't it? We are losing games because of bad coaching, mistakes, lack of discipline, inadequate QB play and overall bad offensive execution. -
Orton may not be great, but ...
Maddog69 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why should we have to have lower standards than any other team? Shouldn't we want to find/develop a QB that can lead the Bills to a championship rather than constantly defending guys who have proven over decades that they are mediocre at best(Fitz/Orton)? Should we celebrate an 8-8 season or be disappointed that the QB that was supposed to "give us a better chance to win" actually didn't (as many here predicted he wouldn't)? This is another wasted year. Orton is not the answer, he's a backup. That was proven years ago and should not have been up to date. If the coaches and Front office felt EJ was not going to develop, they should have gone out and found a better option, even if that was just bringing in another young QB to try to develop. So, No, our playoff drought has not lowered my standards. Getting to the playoffs and getting killed in the Wild card round would be an improvement but still not good enough. I want the Pegula's to build a championship. -
I don't remember him at all but it looks like he was one of the final cuts prior to the 2014 season. Wikipedia and ESPN shows that the Bills signed him in December 2013 to a Reserve/Futures contract ESPN transaction log shows he was waived on Sept 8 (which is weird because that would mean he was on the opening day roster). The problem is that the Bills site does not show any transactions with his name in 2014. Strange.

Kaepernick would be an interesting pick up. -

I know he lost a lot of the remaining fanbase that had any faith left in him at all. -
Conflict Between Bills' Front Office and Marrone?
Maddog69 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm starting to think that we might be stuck with this entire regime for another season. Partially because of the difficulty the Pegula's might have finding a top notch HC/GM to take to job with the currently horrible offense and no #1 pick. It might be an easier sell next year if the wheels fall off. The current regime has provided minimally better overall record and probably deserves one more year. That said, I would prefer a complete house cleaning because I have no faith in the current regime's ability to build a championship team. -
This is the most ridiculous thing ever. These ladies signed up for the job knowing full well what was expected and they were free to quit at any point. They went along with it because they enjoyed the attention and now they think they can make a buck. They seem to be putting a price on their dignity, which makes them whores. I especially liked the part about how most of the other past and present (or most recent) Jills were pissed at these ladies for suing. They seems perfectly happy with their volunteer experience.

Give us your overall impression of Sammy Watkins
Maddog69 replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Sammy is our #2 receiver, the GM should be fired for trading up to get him. If he is not a legit pro-bowl caliber receiver (like Megatron, Larry Fitzgerald, Julio Jones or Dez Bryant), picking him with the 4th overall pick is stupid (and trading a 2015 First along with the 2014 1st and a 4th rounder to acquire that #4 overall pick makes it even worse). I expect more from Sammy and I believe he will deliver. -
Give us your overall impression of Sammy Watkins
Maddog69 replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he's off to a good start. Has room to grow and mature. Can get better at dealing with adversity without pouting. The offense can also get better at finding ways to get him the ball. Overall, very solid rookie season and plenty of reason to think he is going to be a very good player for the Bills for a very long time. -
Offensive Strategy For Beating The Packers This Sunday
Maddog69 replied to PolishDave's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sure the bills will have an offensive strategy for the game. It'll be so offensive that it causes lots of offensive language to be used in the stadium and on TBD. -
Why the infatuation with Bradford? His career stats are worse than Orton and he is injured constantly.
-
Which should have been obvious to everyone since he passed up several opportunities in the offseason to go to training camp and get into football shape. Instead he chose to stay home and play with his kids while every other NFL player busted their butt in camp trying to make themselves and their teams better. Having this guy lead our team is a joke.
-
This is kind of similar to what I was thinking. Why not have the kicker blast the ball as hard as he can directly at one of the defenders. A fast, hard, line-drive would be difficult to catch. The ball would presumably bounce off of the defender and be free for recovery by us. This play seems to make sense in my head but no one ever has tried it as far as I know. The obvious drawback is having the accuracy to actually hit the defender.

Is it silly to think Rex Ryan might be our DC next year?
Maddog69 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with this. in the end, I don't think either will be an NFL head coach next season. Wouldn't surprise me if Rex does a year on TV. -

The weather is going to be in the 50's, so I doubt Peyton's hands will go numb unless it is from too many high-fives for his TD passes. The Bronco's are averaging 34 points per game. Our offense is bad. I don't see any way we can put up enough points to keep up. We'll see.

Shouldn't all Bills fans be EJ fans since he's on the team? I don't really understand the hate for a Bills draft pick who is in his second season. Some people on this board need to take constant shots at the kid. It's strange.

The Demise of the Running Quarterback?
Maddog69 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think that most NFL HC and OC know how to utilize a mobile QB. It seems that most every young, mobile QB that is drafted is pushed to become a pocket passer and therefore loses most of their effectiveness. The creative coaches find ways to utilize the mobility. The other issue is that QBs who run with the ball take more hits and obviously tend to get injured more often, which has a negative impact on their ability to stay on the field and they ability to execute the offense properly. -
I strongly disagree with this. The Broncos are about as far out of the Bills league as any team in the NFL. If the Bills win this game, it will be a fantastic upset and an amazing accomplishment. I am not expecting it to happen.
-
They've only been held below 29 points scored Twice this year. I think Peyton is just fine. This is going to be a tough game. The only chance I see if either for the Offense to score a ridiculous amount of points (which is unlikely). Or for the defense to get several turnovers and score at least one TD of their own.

I love the Bills and want them to go undefeated but there is absolutely ZERO chance they beat the three best teams in football. I don't care how much of a homer you are, you cannot honestly believe that this will happen. There is a very high likelihood that we lose all 3 games. In fact, there is a much greater chance of going 0-4 in this final stretch than going 4-0. If I had to put arbitrary odds, I would say: Win 0-4 games: 15% Win 1 of 4 games 40% Win 2 of 4 games 35% Win 3 of 4 games 10% Win 4 of 4 games 0%
