Possible suspension for Suh? (update - No)
MDH replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Does the CBA specifically say you can't kick the helmet off another player? -
Two of my favorite plays by TT today

Pretty sure you're going to get the "he had his best game of his career the following week" response to this. -

I can't imagine the hype if the Bills open 2-0 vs. the two teams in the AFC Championship last year. It will be deafening. -
He'll be in the HoF if he can only convince the NFL to let him play vs. Tampa every week.

A Few Thoughts About The Game, in no particular order.....
MDH replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll have to go back and watch it but I saw the shoulder pad get grabbed on the replay. Then again, I was (and am) a little drunk. -

I'm not concerned at all and it is only partially because of TT. This O has so much talent and Roman is an experienced guy in making QBs looks good I think either Taylor or EJ could have a "breakout" year. Put a QB in a good spot and it's much easier to make him look good. -

Hah. It's funny, I did exactly what you wanted - sat at home drinking beer and eating wings - and all I want to do it get to a game! Trying to figure out which one to make the trip for. -
Yep. To top it off I'll take Sammy having zero receptions all year if it means 16-0! Vontae is one of the best corners in the league. Right up there with Sherman and Revis. I'm not too concerned that they game planned away from him and let other guys make plays. They could have kept trying to throw in his direction like Luck did vs. Gilmore only to get pass after pass batted down and two completions slipped in.

Guys in the booth missed it...like they did most things in the game. -

It wasn't. The Colts player was blocked into the punter, which makes a non call the correct call. The facemask on the fumble though, I didn't see anything that looked anything like a facemask. -

Agree with the batted ball but the fumble was all on him. He lost the ball without being touched. The fact that he didn't let that turn into a nightmare is good, but I wouldn't list that as one of his better plays. -
Hats off to the kid, he played lights out for a first start. The entire secondary did.

No doubt, staying in bounds was a vet decision. I'm just not a fan of him pausing the moment he gets the handoff though. Then slamming the ball in frustration. If he'd just his the hole fast he'd get yards. Every carry doesn't have to be a home run.

haven't read any of this thread but my main takeaway from this game (other than WOOOOOHOOOOO) is that I like Williams running behind this line more than Shady.

2015-16 Buffalo Bills Positive Thread
MDH replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just have a good feeling about this offense. I think either Tyrod or EJ could have had a breakout season with Roman and the skill players around them. Looking forward to the O opening lots of people's eyes. -
The report was talking about his longevity. Said something to the effect that some people with the Phins didn't think his career would last much more than 2 more seasons due to his knee. Report went on to mention the Bills gave him $24 million in guaranteed money. Let's hope those concerns end up being unfounded...

WSJ: Why the NFL has a Quarterback Crisis
MDH replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd say all those QBs are the definition of mediocre. I didn't include Philadelphia's 2013 season in that list because Foles was so good that year. That obviously was an outlier though. Anyway, I'm not disagreeing with your basic premise, just that it's not impossible Obviously, I'd rather count on good QB play year in year out than hope to catch lightening. The last few years have shown that a team or two will break the mould every year. Let's hope one of two things happens: The Bills get actual, quality QB play this year or they are one of the teams who put up good/decent numbers despite the QB. -
WSJ: Why the NFL has a Quarterback Crisis
MDH replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just a quick look at offensive rankings in the past few years: 2014 Philadelphia ranked 5th with Foles and Sanchez 2013 Cincinnati ranked 10th Daulton 2012 Houston ranked 7th with Matt Shaub Tampa Bay ranked 9th with Josh Freeman 2011 Raiders ranked 9th with Carson Palmer and Jason Cambell (this is a year Palmer threw more pics than TDs and looked pretty bad.) So while it's not likely you can have a good offense without a good QB I think it's fair to say it's certainly possible. -
IK Officially Suspended 4 Games for Geno's Jaw Break
MDH replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Does the CBA specifically say that a player can't break Geno Smith's jaw? -
Yeah, I agree with this, especially the last part, in particular how the media underestimates Watkins. The guy is a bonafide superstar who was injured last year and was involved in a rudimentary offensive system. If healthy he's going to break out in a big way.

I really think sportswriters have it wrong. Not just in their projections but in how they look at a team. I've heard over and over again, "but they have no QB" and, while that is somewhat true, it ignores a major point. QB play, without question, is the biggest asset to have an the one position that is mostly responsible for offensive success. So they have that right. But what they're missing is that Tyrod (or whomever) doesn't have to be better over an entire season than other QBs. He simply has to be better during each specific game to get a win. Last year the Bills won more than the lost with Kyle friggin' Orton manning the helm. How did they manage that? Well, the Bills D help opposing QBs to a 75 passer rating on the season. Even Orton can manage to be better than that on most days. So during the actual games the Bills played Orton ended up being the better QB on the field that day more often than not. That translated to more wins than losses.

SI's Greg Bedard "Predicting Every NFL Game"
MDH replied to Chuck Wagon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has the Titans beating the Bills and Phins in back to back weeks. I doubt that happens. Granted, the Bills will definitely lose to a team they have no business losing to so who knows where that will come from. -
In his rookie year? Yeah. I wouldn't predict that Tyrod will have a better career than Winston but given the talent on the Bills O and that Tyrod has had 4 years to adjust to the NFL and wasn't thrown to the wolves right away I'd give him the edge.

Would You Have Your Son Circumcised, and Why?
MDH replied to Rob's House's topic in Off the Wall Archives
We didn't circumcise our son when he was born (he's 11 now.) Never had any problems with infections and we didn't do it because it's pretty much a purely cosmetic procedure and we felt a newborn didn't need that done. There is a slightly smaller chance of penile cancer but the percentage of men who get that in the US is incredibly small, even in uncircumcised men. Also of note, circumcision cuts off a lot of the sensitivity of the penis. We felt no religious conviction to get it done so why do that to someone when there is no need? It's funny, I actually encountered a couple people who were offended when they found out we didn't have him circumcised. Like we were personally insulting them. It was odd.
