  1. Even if we assume the Pats have a 90% chance of winning each game left in the regular season they have about a 25% chance of finishing 16-0. So even if they are a very dominant team the odds of them winning out isn't good. So, I'm not sure it's a legitimate talking point. Just a talking point. Once they get to 10-0 or so then I'll there's a legit chance.
  2. The question isn't why did Dixon beat out Brown for a roster spot. The question is why did the Bills enter the season with only two healthy RBs? They knew Shady had a hammy injury and wasn't ready for a full work load so why not enter the season with an extra RB on the roster to compensate for it? I'd have kept an extra RB until Shady was healthy. This team's run game is going to take a serious dive if Williams gets banged up in the least. They have nobody else on the roster who is any kind of running threat.
  3. I hope so but I have my doubts as to how effective the offense will be without Watkins. Harvin is being productive because of all the attention Sammy gets. What happens once teams dont cheat to one side of the field? It will make things touger on Tyrod and the WRs. I think people are underestimating what Watkins' presense alone brings to this O. On a side note I also think they'll miss Shady and his blitz pickup. Rookies generally suck at it, which will also negatively impact the pass game. That being said I still think thhe Bills win but it would not surprise me if the passing game struggles and the team needs to lean on Williams heavily to eek out the win.
  4. Man, I hope Watkins' calf doesn't linger as long as this.
  5. Yep, once arm fatigue and weather start to play roles his effectiveness slides. Every little bit helps. Granted, in week 4 it's tough to know exactly what will benefit the Bills the most come season's end, right now it looks like the Phins winning is better for the Bills.
  6. Yeah, people are getting carried away with the blowout predictions. Blowouts aren't the norm in the NFL, so to think they'll do it every week they don't play an upper echelon team is a bit much. Bills 26 Giants 24
  7. The problem with letting Jackson and Brown go is that Shady was injured at the time and isn't healthy now. So the Bills will have to go into a game with Dixon as the primary backup and that's not a good thing. That's a chunk of the carries going to a guy I want to see get 1 or 2 carries a game. And if anything happens to Williams, ouch, I don't even want to think about where the running game will be. Not sure why the Bills didn't keep a 4th back when their starter was injured.
  8. I'm of two minds about this. One, garbage time numbers aren't really that important when the games are essentially wrapped up. My second though is that this D gets complacent. They're not playing prevent D. They're also not sitting their starters with these leads. So the only conclusion I can draw is that they lack motivation and drive to play to the end of the game. That's mental weakness and isn't something you want to see out of your players (with or without a lead.) If the D isn't going to play to the end then get those starters off the field because guys not playing all out are going to get hurt.
  9. As of right now they haven't gotten a single game right.
  10. It is, but it's a good problem.
  11. Bills already have at least a split with the Phins so I'll go with them.
  12. He has impressed but if forced to choose between Harvin and Incognito I'd go with the latter. I'm not sure the Bills have the cash to sign everybody -particularly if Tyrod keeps playing the way he is. He'll get paid if he does and then the Bills will have some tough decisions to make at a lot of other positions.
  13. Have your eyes seen Dalton play this year? The guy has played lights out thus far. Any my point wasn't to create a debate about who is better, you said they have a "major flaw" and I asked what that flaw is because if they have that flaw then so do the Bills. The question both teams have is, "can their QB play at a consistently high level." I guess you don't think that's a question with the Bills and we should book our flight to the AFC championship game but most think it's a question that TT will have to answer week in and week out. The season is long and there is only so much you can gather after 3 weeks. So far it looks promising, let's see if it continues.
  14. Cincy might have the best 52 man roster in the NFL. The only "flaw" they have is at QB but Dalton has shown he can get the ball to his playmakers. Cincy is no more "flawed" than Buffalo. I'm impressed with TT so far but I'm not ready to say the Bills are set at QB for the future. Things can go down hill quickly.
  15. Well, if we're going to go just by stats then yeah. Those stats gave him a QB rating of 92.8 which ranked 14th in a 32 team league. That's barely better than middle of the pack and middle of the pack is the definition of mediocre. If we're not going to go by stats but on other things as well - like winning, come from behind wins, drives in the 4th quarter that help negate his poor play from earlier in the game - it pushes him further down that list behind guys like Flacco and E. Manning. I'd take guys like Dalton and Cam over him as well. Dalton is almost a wash but I'd still take him. Mediocre seems to be a perfect word to describe Tanny. As starters go he's neither good nor bad. He's right there in the middle. Not sure why there's a debate about this. Half the teams would like to have a middle of the pack guy.
  16. Williams definitely looks like the better runner right now but he's not a better fit for the offense. The Bills, in their base package, have created so many mismatches by the types of players they've acquired. Who do you send out on the field to defend them when you have Watkins, Harvin, Shady and Clay out there? If there is a second TE on the field the Bills can still line up in a spread offense with Shady and/or Clay out wide because of how diverse their skill sets are. Or they can line up in a traditional two TE set and pound the rock. It almost forces the team to go with their base set on D which means Clay and Shady are matched up with LBs in coverage. If the D goes to the nickel it gives the Bills the advantage in the run game. It's why a dynamic TE is so important and why a RB with the speed/hands of McCoy creates mismatches. Those two guys make Roman's job much easier because of what they can do. So while I love what Williams is brining to the table he can't replace Shady in the matchups he gives the Bills. It would just help if he were healthy.
  17. Yeah, but that's not what happened on that play. He played hard till the end but tripped over the WR when the ball was under thrown. I'm not sure how that equates to giving up on the play. I agree it wasn't a good play and I smacked my forehead with my palm at how badly he finished the play, but it wasn't because he stopped playing hard. He just f'd up.
  18. Nope, but why not recognize the actual leaders instead of being a "he worked hard" award? Make a seperate "he worked hard " award if need be but making people honorary captains reeks of pee wee football.
  19. Leadership isnt something that changes week to week. Can't say Im a fan of this method.
  20. Man, that was a really bad throw then!
  21. I get not jamming Gronk. He's so strong and fluid he can burn you if you try to bump him off the line. The small WRs on the Pats? I have no clue why they weren't getting mugged within 5 yards of the LoS every single time.
  22. Pretty sure this story hasnt been written before as every previous story mentions he went to Harvard. So this is like a completely new story.
  23. Their D is very good and their schedule is about as cupcake as an NFL schedule gets.
  24. The Colts were in the AFC championship and they beat them in Indy. That's a good win even if the Colts are currently struggling.
  25. People are acting like TT didn't have something to do with all those Pats points. 3 TOs and a bunch of 3 and outs early in the game contributed greatly to the points scored against. I'm not absolving the defense (or the ST) but to think that they absolutely would have needed 40+ points yesterday no matter who started is disingenuous. Protect the ball better and don't go 3 and out so often and you'll need fewer points.
