I never watch Clemson games, but I have to admit that watching Sammy’s highlight reel from there, he looked like a total beast…an early version of Deebo Samuel, only better. I don’t remember applauding the trade-up, but I was excited to see what he could do.

I wish....I've got most of the circulating shows from that era in flacs. 1st Stones show for me was the Aud in 75, then Rich when they came back last show of the tour, then Chicago 78, Rich 81, Louisville 81, Chicago 2 81. Whole bunch of Vegas-era shows, last one was Beacon 2 in 2006 as seen in Scorsese's Shine A Light (face was $25, VERY lucky to score that one. I didn't care for Exile when it first came out (as a kid), but I do think it is the greatest rock album ever, it's deep man! Not my fav Stones though (Black and Blue), nor my fav album (Never Mind The Bollocks).

From 1969 onward, I tend to judge the Stones by the shows more than the albums, and I think 1981-82 was the last great tour.

Watson was better than Josh in college, but that's about it, he can't touch him now.

I like to compare their legacies at different points in history. Beatles > Stones 1964- 1969 In their prime, I will begrudgingly give the nod to the “lads”. Stones > Beatles 1964 - 1988 Solo Beatles except for a few high points like POB & ATMP detracted from their legacy. Beatles > Stones 1964- present Vegas Stones really detracted from their legacy.

They definitely could rock out, mostly Lennon but even Macca, Helter Skelter for a great example… but I do think they were more pop than rock for the most part. Stones could also be pop, for example Ruby Tuesday, but I think they were more rock & roll, then rock. Agree about the attitude, my favs are always full of it!

Very true when it came to the studio. Of course live, the Stones blew the Beatles off the map.
