Brown, Foster and Campbell with Beasley in the slot sounds good to me. Beasley would go nuts with all that outside speed, especially now that our pass protection should be vastly improved.

His praise of Paris Campbell is interesting. I haven’t seen him mentioned as a 1st rounder by anyone else. I need to go back and look at him. Any Buckeye fans out there agree with his sentiment?

I think part of it is probably the lack of overall speed in their game compared to the NFL but yes, he looks explosive. I remember Carlin Isles a few years back, he looks like a cartoon in some of these...

I agree on Washington being a possible trade partner. Atlanta and Carolina could be as well. I am good with a trade back as long as it’s still top 20 and we get another 2nd. Now, if Q. Williams or J. Allen fall to 9, you have to keep it. At some point though the actual amount of picks becomes as issue. I’d like to see Beane use the 2 7ths to move up for targeted guys in the 4th/5th. Considering all the FAs we brought in, I don’t see a point in making more than 8 picks.

Too many other pieces on our D aren’t good fits for a 3-4. I don’t think there’s anyway they’d switch because of 1 guy. Now, I’d take White at 9 if he was there, move Edmunds to an outside backer/edge hybrid and we’d be in business. Milano would still get plenty of time in coverage situations and LORAX could be exclusively a pass rusher.

Yep. Not a single one of our FA signings have us leveraged in any way. Other than Morse we can get out of all of these deals after year 1. Beane’s approach of bringing in a lot of guys and letting them duke it out for jobs in camp is not something you see much of. Most teams that are flush with cap space bring in a few high dollar guys and they’re usually way overpaid. After a couple years they’re in cap hell again and they have to bottom out. I love the quantity over quality approach. Beane has hedged his bets and if half these guys pan out, we’re in great shape. Innovative approaches are often met with criticism.

I agree on Nsekhe. Waddle is an upgrade over Mills too IMO. Mills was frustrating because he’d play well for stretches, but when he was bad, he was really bad. His whiffs in pass protection always seemed to be drive killers at the worst possible moments. More consistency at RT is going to do wonders for the offense.

I’d guess that the longer it takes for the details to come out, the more likely it is that it’s a team friendly deal.
