D3 coaches at powerhouse programs are probably better recruiters than others. They have to convince the kids to join the program without any athletic scholarships, and that their role at a D3 powerhouse like Wisconsin-Whitewater is better for them than a different role at a D2 school, for example.

Wrong. Finishing last overall DOES give you the highest percentage chance of the #1 pick. However that chance is 20%. It is still higher than all other lottery teams. Finishing last overall also gurantees they pick either #1 (McDavid) or #2 (Eichel) so they'll be just fine since either could justifiably go #1.

One main thought: I believe its already leaked that the Pegulas do plan on keeping Russ Brandon as a OBD employee, but not in his current role. They're planning on separating the business and football operations, similar to the Sabres set up currently. Russ Brandon will be in the Ted Black role, running the business side and being the mouthpiece for the media. All business operations members would report to him. A consultant with a large amount of football experience will likely be hired and will either run the football side of things or assist with a search to hire the "Football Czar" who Whaley and all of football operations would report to. Football Czar and Brandon would then report directly to the Pegulas.

As a South Carolina fan this makes me feel very sad. By all accounts it seemed that Marcus Lattimore was a very humble, hardworking kid with all the talent in the world. Easily one of the better running backs I had seen in my time and destined for stardom in the NFL. It's just too bad. He was a tremendous talent. I wish him well in his new path in life.

Derrick Brooks was an all time great and I don't want to bestow that upon Kiko just yet. I've said on here many times before that Kiko as the Will in a 4-3 could be Lance Briggs. Multi time All Pro tackling machine on a consistently very good to dominant unit. Basically free to use his instincts and just play.

I kind of forgot about that because I expect Murray to wheel and deal like a fiend starting at the 2015 Draft to bring in more proven veteran talent to play around the new core, and the team should be out of the basement for 2015-16. Probably not a playoff contender as the kids will still need to grow, but better than last place.
