Unfortunately the other 31 teams disagree. That being said, the Bills seem to have a lot of versatile pieces that save them roster spots so they can afford to keep a kickoff specialist. Graham as a CB/S, Dixon as a RB/FB, Clay as a do everything guy, Urbik as the back up center, etc.

Rd 5 pick 155 RB Karlos Williams Florida State
JM57 replied to Drreef2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This pick and to an extent, the Darby pick, was a pick for 2016 and beyond, not 2015. Williams is a bit raw, but has loads of potential. McCoy is the guy for at least 2015-17. In the mean time, Fred is 34, and his contract, Dixon's contract and Brown's contract are all up either after this season or next season. At CB, Gilmore is due a payday and Graham and McKelvin are almost 30. Graham has shown he can transition to safety, Leodis is probably toast after 2015. You have to get younger and cheaper to afford paying big money to Mario, Dareus, Hughes, Gilmore, Clay, etc. This is what good teams do. They draft for depth and development BEFORE they have holes. Drafting for need is what causes you to reach and whiff (see Manuel,EJ or Maybin, Aaron) -
If La'el Collins drops do Bills take him?
JM57 replied to ALLEN1QB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's represented by Deryk Gilmore of Priority Sports and Entertainment. I'd bet the Saints have the inside track just because he's a Louisiana boy and they do have a need at OG, unless he's dead set at playing at OT. That being said, every scouting report I read on him stated he's best to play at OG, but could still play RT in a pinch. Unfortunately I think the NYS income tax situation will eliminate the Bills from contention. Miami is also supposed to take a hard run at him per their beat writers -
RD 7, Pick 234: WR Dezmin Lewis, Central Arkansas

Collins absolutely was NOT signing if drafted in Day 3. If he was drafted and refused to sign a contract, that was his ticket into the 2016 draft. I'm almost sure that's why no one even took a "just in case" 7th round flier on him -
If La'el Collins drops do Bills take him?
JM57 replied to ALLEN1QB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was saying I wasn't sure how many teams had the need at guard (lots of teams) AND the scheme that will also benefit Collins the most. Who else has a power run scheme? San Fran, Seattle...I'm drawing a blank -

It still could be the Bills. Scheme and talent wise, it's a very good fit. He is best suited at guard, where the Bills have a dearth of talent, and best suited for a power scheme, which Roman is installing. He could still be a day one starter in Buffalo. Not sure how many other teams would have a similar scheme and lack of talent at OG -

From the MMQB article "...when a black Lexus pulled out into the street. He remembers all of what happened next: He swerved to see if he could split between the car and an adjacent bus, but he couldnt. He aimed for the cars front tire and flew over the front of his motorcycle." -
I like Ben Koyack from Notre Dame as a target at #155. Here's the important stuff from NFL.com's scouting report. Draft Projection Round 5 or 6 NFL Comparison Luke Willson Bottom Line Underutilized in the passing game while at Notre Dame. Strong understanding and execution as a run blocker with the physical traits to be a tough matchup in the passing game. Still raw as a receiver and will need more individual work with a position coach on the next level. College production belies his pro potential.

The most encouraging thing about this pick, to me, came from his former coach Charlie Strong on NFLN. If I recall correctly, he basically said Miller should improve, and quickly, as soon as he gets in a room with some veterans who can give him tips on refining his technique.

If he's still there after round 4, you have to take him if you're Whaley. You've already said the late rounders probably aren't making the team so cutting him if he did face charges is no issue, on the opposite side, you have a potential mega-steal -

Pittsburgh is out of the lottery regardless, they traded their first round pick to Edmonton for David Perron -

Pittsburgh, Washington and the Islanders are all just about dead even right now. Two of them will play each other and the other team is going to get sent off to Montreal as a wild card. I'm banking on a nice, competitive end to the season for all 3 teams. No one is going to want to face Price in round 1. -

Pittsburgh and the Islanders are still fighting for playoff positioning and the Blue Jackets are the hottest team in the league right now. I feel good. I just want to see Arizona get a point or two to take some suspense out of it all. A Sabres loss and Coyotes win tonight and everything could be over by 10:00 Monday night. -

I'm still not terribly worried. I said after the Arizona win that I could see Buffalo getting 6 points at best down the stretch. I penciled in the Islanders, Penguins, and Blackhawks as losses. Columbus has been red hot down the stretch. If Columbus can beat them too, I think it's all good. I think Arizona has to scratch together at least 2 more points in their last games, and Buffalo is 30th if they end with the same amount of points. The Islanders and Penguins are still jockeying for position with Washington hot on their tails which is beneficial. Every game should count right through 4/11 for all three teams. Chicago can still catch Nashville and St. Louis, or fall behind Minnesota, so they should also be fighting their way to the end. It all hinges on the Carolina and Columbus games -

You want to cut a starting caliber corner and then go only 4 deep at CB? The only explanation I can think of for that is that it's 5 o'clock somewhere... -
