One thing that scares me most....
JM57 replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You have to spend like 90% of the salary cap. If you aren't, you're penalized and end spending that much anyway. This isn't MLB where you can shed payroll to $22 million to look good for a buyer. -
I have not been one to beat the Ebron drum in any way up to this point. But if you think Chandler, Smith, Gragg, or even Moeaki are on the same level, you're not paying attention. Ebron is really quite the athlete. He's an entirely different type of TE than the Bills have ever had on their roster. Gragg might be the closest athletically, but Ebron has much more potential IMO. And I'm not even high on the guy

OK so one reputable source and 3 crappy blogs. 1 outta 4 ain't bad

So you would rather have a raw project (Bryant) who has benefited from being on e field with 2 dynamic WRs (Hopkins, Watkins) than a team's dominating #1 threat? Hmm. Also I want to clear something up re: Evans and Benjamin. If Evans looked "stiff" in his drills than Kelvin Benjamin is a walking G.D. 2x4. I have never seen a soon-to-be professional athlete look so awkward when running.

Mike Evans - does this effect how you feel a/b him?
JM57 replied to RalphOP83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Apparently you adults have a hard time understanding the business model. They're not "playing agent" (in most cases, though Jay-Z did take the extra step recently to become a certified agent). They're INVESTING their money in an agency. Which then hires ESTABLISHED agents or partners with an agency that is entrenched in the business. If I use my money to buy a meat market and keep all the experienced employees to do the work while I collect a profit, that doesn't make me a butcher. It makes me a business owner. But rabblerabble tattooface rabble rabble cash money lolz isn't that the same thing rabble rabble disrespecful and other "funny" stuff! -

I would like to note that you are the THIRD person to post similar points in this thread, along with myself and The Wiz. Yours finally got a response, which I applaud. Meanwhile everyone is in here making their half-ass middle age white guy "I'm not racist I have black friends" thinly veiled race/stereotype cracks. Well done, TBD. Class acts all around.... -
Change in running philosophy that makes CJ expendable?

The only thing that worried me with Williams is "mileage". 355 carries in a year is insane. -
George Wilson is also one of the nicest guys you will ever meet.

I believe that the rappers themselves (in this case Birdman, but also Jay-Z) are not the AGENTS. They are owners of the AGENCY. They're the money men, and the "face" used to recruit the athletes. They then hire their own agents or work with established agencies. ROC Nation Sports works in collaboration with CAA, for example. -

Especially in a deep draft. The benefit of having 30 more underclassmen than normal declare is that talent gets pushed down the board. Usually you expect your top 2 picks to be starters, and MAYBE your early 3rd rounder. Now you might be able to get 3 and a possible 4th. Your normal top 50 guys become top 75 and so on down the line -
RB Anthony Dixon visiting Buffalo--edit--Signed!

Buck is terrible in pass pro. That's why he couldn't often keep his spot in the lineup/John Kuhn was used so much on 3rd downs. -

Who cares/money talks. If the only NFL team offering you a job was in Kiev (hyperbole alert), wouldn't that still be more appealing than not being in the NFL at all? -

YUCK -
Only half of the contract is guaranteed, so that means $1.25 base salary per season which isn't too bad, slightly above vet minimum and par for the course for a depth signing

I'm mad as hell & I'm not gonna take it any more!
JM57 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The thing is there really wasn't a good replacement for Byrd out there. Mike Mitchell may have been adequate. But almost all of the "big name" safeties that signed yesterday were SS/in the box types, not FS/center fielder types. -

Tim Graham said last night his source says the Bills offer was about $7.5 million annually. Considering the Ward, Whitner, Mitchell, Bethea, etc. contracts....that was fair market value. The Saints then blew that market out of the water with the $9 million average. -

If you can't take it, then stop posting and stop watching the team. Holy Christ. I don't remember much before the Todd Collins era and I still B word less than a lot of people on this board. I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER WHEN THEY WERE GOOD AND I COMPLAIN LESS THAN MOST PEOPLE ON THIS BOARD. Let that sink in. Seriously, its like 70% of the content on this board is nothing but a big cry and whine fest about Schopp, Littman, Overdorf, WGR, Sully, ESPN, the schedule, Roger Goodell, the team moving,Ralph, and whatever player is in contract negotiations with the team at any given time. Its a bad look. Suck it up, wait it out, or move along. Whining like a petulant little child on a message board isn't going to move the process along any faster. By the way, free agency is what you use to plug holes here and there, its not how you build a team. Miami "won" free agency last year, how did that work out for them? The Eagles "won" free agency out of the lockout. They were a real success that year, weren't they? -

Yes because there are so many trades in the NFL. It would have been for like a 4th round pick. I'm disappointed that he is gone. He's a very good player. But he just got STUPID money from New Orleans. $11 million signing bonus. That's insane. They can have him at that price. -
don't understand this attitude at all.
-
Per Sal Capaccio, Carpenter cannot sign ANYWHERE (even Buffalo) before 4:00 today because of the type of contract he signed last season. Something about a veteran exception.
-
And you never count Tom Izzo's teams out in the tourney either. Not favorable, that's for sure.
