  1. Define "good player" because I'm pretty sure he was bordering on terrible
  2. Preach brother. I keep saying I want a dependable vet in the Ron Brooks/dime role and Ron Brooks in the Justin Rogers (last DB) role.
  3. He said he tailors his scheme to the players he has. He had the luxury of coaching some of the best speed rushers in the game with Jevon Kearse and Cliff Avril. Of course he'd run a Wide 9 with them. I'd run it with them too.
  4. Your post lost credibility when you said Tom Brady, who is one of the poorest sports in the league. Some background: Crabtree challenged Sherman at a charity event http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/20/report-crabtree-tried-to-fight-sherman-at-a-charity-event-last-year/ At a charity event?!? Come on man
  5. My immediate thought was "what the heck did Crabtree say? Did he insult his entire family tree? Good lord he just went WWE promo on Erin Andrews"
  6. Supposedly it all began with something said face to face by Crabtree to Sherman this summer. Sherman's only saying "He knows what he said." Boy would I love to hear the exchanges they have with each other. Both intense competitors who talk a big game. Personally I don't like all of Sherman's antics, but his story is great. Motivated to be better than all the DBs selected before him, an ACTUAL intelligent player (see: Gronkowski, Rob for the opposite end of the spectrum) with an amazing fire and skill set. The SI profile on him from this summer was a very good read. He's more than just your average player. His intelligence and film study is what sets him apart. Its insane. He watches 12 GAMES of film on the guy he's going to cover each week.
  7. This. 100 times this. Its always the retaliation that gets all the attention.
  8. GB's OL is also pretty terrible.
  9. LG is, without a doubt a hole. I would assume that Pears will be a cap casualty (age + fit + salary) which would make RT one as well. I think that a "matchup nightmare" on offense is a hole as well, whether you want that to be an athletic TE or a big physical WR is personal preference. The Bills have neither of those guys. Then for "upgradble spots" like you said, RG could use one, but if you fix LG/RT and Urbik is your weak link you have a very good OL. A 3 down LB to pair with Kiko would be nice, as would a dime DB (Brooks' spot) and OL/DL depth.
  10. Good news? Cleveland wants a 2nd interview with Seattle DC Dan Quinn. Interest is mutual according to the "insiders"
  11. The amount of people in this thread passing on Watkins simply because he is 6'1 is sad. Do some research. The dude days bigger than his body. He highpoints the ball very well and will likely show elite leaping ability when testing comes along. He has both short area quickness and deep speed. He's going to be a star.
  12. Wow! Watkins AND Robinson on the board at 9?! That's awesome. I would be happier than a pig in sh..tuff with either. I have to go with Watkins
  13. Wrt drafting a TE or LB at #9, I have to agree. It SEEMS too early to do either. But then you look at Luke Keuchly (#9) and Patrick Willis (#11), or Vernon Davis (#6) and you think "Well maybe if the Bills got a player like that it wouldn't be SO bad." Especially when talking TE. Today's offenses are seeking that matchup nightmare guy. Ebron definitely could be that guy who is too big for DBs and too fast for LBs. That's a gamechanger that also negates the need for the huge jump ball WR. To me, if a guy like Clowney, Watkins, Matthews, or Greg Robinson is on the board at #9, Buffalo should sprint to the podium. They may not be "top-tier need" positions, but those are top tier players. And reaching to draft for need is a big mistake, even more so when you're still filling a secondary need.
  14. Interesting how you seem to purposely not mention that the most talented OL in the NFL is comprised of players selected #28,#17 and #11 overall...
  15. Big credit to OCinBuffalo. One of the best threads I've read on TBD in a long time. Especially for an off season thread, when its usually wading through 2 pages of crap to find an OK thread
  16. The real question no one ever asks is how have his units ranked since he left here?
  17. The only people who have questions about Clowney are people who don't watch him play. Dude was double/triple teamed every single down. In one play against Wisconsin, FOUR players chipped on him (2 OL, TE, RB) to keep him from the QB. Run plays were ran directly at him with double or triple teams, or outside runs away from him to make sure he didn't make backside plays. He literally had opposing OCs changing blocking schemes and play styles to neutralize him. He's a freak.
  18. He looks more like Dwight K. Schrute to me!
  19. Bills fans are crazy. WHY DID THEY DEFER FITZ'S MONEY ITS CAP MISMANAGEMENT!! No just kidding CUT STEVIE NOW AND TAKE THE HIT! Sidebar: Pet peeve is "we" We? You're on the team? Or employed in the front office? THEY have to do things. WE fans have no control.
  20. There was so much David Koechner because they needed to create a plotline to get the other Crowes out of the Everglades and up to Harlan with Dewey. Why would he be a new character when he's a Marshal in Florida and the new "big bads" are heading to Kentucky?
  21. Fantastic show. Can't wait for tomorrow night. I did just read an interview with Walton Higgins where he admitted the show will end after 6 seasons, which is sad but won't let it drag on too long either
  22. Years and years of practice
  23. FYI McCown has said himself he's not 100% sure he's going to even play next year
  24. He also singlehandedly almost willed his overmatched team to a win over a top 10 SEC team. Not to mention his performances against the beloved Teddy Bridgewater and against Baylor on the big stage. Do I think he's going to be an immediate impact player? Probably not. But with good coaching, the tools are there. And he showed it this year against quality competition.
  25. I believe I saw over the weekend that Devito was like 4th best against the run amongst 3-4 DEs. Sigh.
