If the Bills end up in the 4-6 range they have to take BPA. Have to. Its going to be a very special player at that point. Past that, I would say WR and LB are the most pressing round 1 needs, followed by OG/TE for round 2. They need depth at DT and all along the OL as well. I'm very high on Mike Evans if they go the WR route. He's the kind of WR they don't have right now. 6'5 and can catch the ball at its high point. A WR like that somewhat negates the need for a freak TE. At TE I like Jace Amaro if they go the pure receiving style. Austin Seferian-Jenkins looks to be an all around player. Big, fast, pretty good blocker too. At LB any of CJ Mosley, Anthony Barr or Khalil Mack would be a welcome addition to this defense. Nothing against Alonso or Lawson. Its the Moats/Bradham role that needs to be upgraded in a big way.

My theory on why the Bills looked so horrific today
JM57 replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chris Brown said on the pregame show the were pretty flat in practice most of the week. No coincidence that they followed up the deflating loss against Atlanta in a similar fashion to the deflating loss against KC. -
Paul McCartney. End of story.

Lost Facts in all the Toronto Series Hyperbole
JM57 replied to JM57's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And its people that fail to see the bigger picture like you that will cry the loudest if they cut the Toronto series off, the Rogers family wants nothing to do with the NFL and someone swoops in and moves the team to LA in 2020 -
Lost Facts in all the Toronto Series Hyperbole
JM57 replied to JM57's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do. Because he's a top 10/12 QB in the league and its not his first rodeo. You think he's never experienced crowd noise or cold weather before? He played college ball at Boston College for Christ's sake. -
With all the whining about the venue and the (false) claims that it would have been a totally different game if played at RWS is this: The Falcons offensive game plan yesterday would have succeeded just as well in the "bad weather" of Orchard Park yesterday. 39 degrees with a little wind and a little rain? Run a balanced attack, take what the defense gives you on pass plays, and control the ball is how you win in those conditions. What did they do? Dink and dunked 47 passes for 311 yards (6.6 yards per attempt the same as EJ Manuel) Shifted from a 70/30 pass/run offense and called 3 0 runs for 150 yards (5 yards a carry) and 3 TDs Held the ball for just over 36 minutes of regulaton Newsflash guys. They would have won in Buffalo with that production too.

First thing first is getting Mario and Stevie to restructure. The dead money from cutting Fitz (7 mil), Anderson (3) and Lindell (1.375) is a killer for next year's available space. And for everyone in the "Cut Stevie" boat I would love to inform you that cutting him would save the team a whopping amount of.........$25,000 off the 2014 cap. So there's that. Mario as a cut would save the team 600,000 and his cap # next season is 18.4 million. Yikes. The biggest savings would actually come from Kolb retiring (3.1) or cutting Kyle Williams (3.9), Pears (2.9), or Freddy (2.7). Only one of those (maybe two) are in any way logical.

Texans Release Safety Ed Reed, Signed by the Jets
JM57 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He barely had anything in the tank last year. Its empty unfortunately. A real lock for the HOF though IMO. Probably the best safety I have seen in my time. -
Talking to the press for head coaches is probably a lot like talking to the in-laws or your annoying coworker for most people. You don't always want to. But you're required to. So you do it and get it over with.

Gilmore got beat there...but why were the safeties another 15 yards down field? -

Seemed to me Goodwin kept his arm under that ball -

Please supply a link to the experts who projected him as a safety. Because I never saw a single one that said anything close to that. -

The 30 mph wind is a pretty good reason. Roethlisberger isn't even slinging it more than 15 yards and that's his game. -

This HAS to result in a TD. Less than 10 points from two drives starting in opponents territory is completely unacceptable. -
Its also the question of #42 overall vs. UDFA. Don't get me wrong. Kiko could/should be in the running for Defensive Player of the Year if his stats continue down this road (league leader in tackles, maybe another INT or 2 and a few FF get him there IMO) let alone Defensive Rookie of the Year. But that's production you expect (eventually) from a high draft pick.

EJ is ready to return: Set to Start at QB in Pittsburgh
JM57 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thankfully Heinz Field looks good at half of ND/Pitt. I read it was re-sodded between the hashes recently. That part looks good. Only a few bare spots between the hashes and sidelines. I just hope it stays dry there until the game ends when I assume they will cover the field until tomorrow. -
Most disappointing losses in last 14 years
JM57 replied to Pitta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
6-3 loss to Cleveland in 2009. Made more embarrassing by the fact that it was a beautiful October day. There was no good reason for either team to be so bad. But it was the worst football game I have ever witnessed at any level. -
Not without a complete overhaul of the system from one that was created around the time of the Industrial Revolution. The system at its core is very outdated. It has basically had pieces cobbled on here and there to try and keep with the times and become a patchwork mess. Also standardized testing is garbage and a terrible way to evaluate students. /soapbox

The Redskins were 3-6 following Week 9 last year. After a week 10 bye, they won 7 in a row to make the playoffs against a relatively soft schedule. Eagles and Cowboys twice each, the Browns, the Giants who sputtered down the stretch, and the Ravens.

A Few Thoughts About The Game, in no particular order....

Bowe had season highs in catches and yards....so it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows unfortunately
