Rolls the dice with boom or bust guys late.
  2. Spotrac is usually up to date, it had notes about the recent rework on there, doesn't mean its absolutely 100% right. I love Kyle Williams too but that's a lot of potential savings on a player who will be 34 for the 2017 season. Football is a tough business.
  3. Graham is definitely high on that list if he is as average in 2016 as 2015 and Aaron Williams can bounce back from that nasty neck injury. Spotrac has Graham at $5.375 million on 2017 or $1.6 million dead money if he's cut. Dan Carpenter - $2.9375 million or 537.5k dead money. Kyle Williams - unpopular as it may be, $8.3 million or $1.5 million dead. Jerome Felton - $2.5 million or $1.3 dead (worth noting this goes down to 650k if it were a post June 1 cut) Eric Wood - $6.325 million or $1.8 million dead. You mentioned Lawson, he's a UFA after this season, but maybe they can get him on a one or two year deal with a lower cap number to play out the string.
  4. So basically, you'd be a Browns fan
  5. Just for the sake of discussion, Dallas or SD could trade up from 34 or 35, but it would be pretty costly looking at the trade value chart. The closest I could get was Buffalo's 1st and 5th for Dallas 2nd, 3rd and 4th. At that point it's probably more than likely they offer a future 1st instead. That's something I could see Jerrah doing. I couldn't see SD doing that. They know they have to rebuild a bit, Jones is in denial.
  6. They'll make it work if they had to sign all 3. Especially with TT, almost all QB contracts are HUGE number wise, but there's almost always an out somewhere around the midpoint. For example, Osweiler's contract could only be a 2 year, $37 million deal instead of 4 for $72 million. 2018 and 2019 are 0% guaranteed on that deal. Gilmore and Glenn's deals could be structured with bonuses that don't overwhelm the team, for example Gilmore gets his big roster bonus in 2018, Glenn gets one in 2019, etc.
  7. Ideally he's on the board at 19 and a REALLY QB hungry team sends Whaley and co. an offer they cant refuse to slide back.
  8. I was going to say this in response to the "just use one of the 4ths on Jones" post. QBs with any value around the league usually go a round earlier than projected. Every draft board out there had Russell Wilson as a 4th round pick that year. We know how that went. They will probably have to use their 3rd to get Cardale Jones. I was so excited when the Bills traded up, I really thought they were getting Wilson. But....nope.
  9. I'd rather take him at 19. Don't trade up, this team has actual holes that need to be filled.
  10. I like Jones, Prescott, Brissett, or Hogan, depending on where. Jones in the 3rd? I'm a little iffy. In the 4th? Hell yeah to Jones or Prescott. Brissett in the 5th or Hogan in the 6th? All about it.
  11. Previous episodes...or you've seen a lot of CSI Miami
  12. He wasn't even in the top 51, per Spotrac, so no impact on the cap. Right now Schmidt is #51 at 600k, and that's without any data on the site for Brown, Moore and White, who are all going to be more than 600k since they're veterans....but that's neither here nor there, the team has a lot of guys at a 600k hit so that would still be #51. Tarpley had a 525k hit.
  13. Can't decide how to feel about this. I know he's a little raw and they have needs elsewhere but if he's there at #19, I could see them saying "Well here's a cost controlled QB for 5 years," letting Lynch learn for the year and letting Tyrod cash in elsewhere after 2016. It would be one way to.guarantee they can lock up Gilmore and Glenn. Pay your rookie QB a couple of million instead of paying Tyrod $20 million and then load up the team everywhere else until the QB's payday is due.
  14. I know its not Fanspeak but I'm doing a mock draft on another board where we have fans of all 32 teams making selections. I'd appreciate any feedback on how you feel about it. We're currently in the middle of the 4th round. Here's how I've drafted so far, with some rationale behind each pick: #19: Noah Spence - my targets here that were off the board were Rankins, Billings, Treadwell, Conklin, and Decker. I went the best edge rusher left. This got me Spence, which has obvious boom or bust potential. But I see Rex and Whaley going all in this year to secure their future here in Buffalo. #49: Tyler Boyd - again I missed out on targeted players right before my pick including Jeremy Cash, Vernon Butler, and Michael Thomas. Boyd is a versatile athlete who Greg Roman likely loves in that end around/WR pass role in his offense. #80 Shon Coleman - picked an OT here since Kouandijo is trash, Mills is just a guy, and Seantrel's medical condition puts him on shaky ground. Coleman could be a plug and play at RT. #117 Christian Hackenberg - I went off my strategy a little bit and rolled the dice here. I saw him still on the board and thought the 4th round was a perfect place to gamble on a QB with the tools who needs some real intense coaching. Best case scenario here, you have another Kirk Cousins scenario. Worst case, you have a new, cheap backup QB in place of EJ for 2017.
  15. I saw some hilariously stupid behavior, like a 20ish year old getting stupid drunk by 1030 am, then getting into his Mercedes SUV and punching out the windshield. I had no real problems with fan behavior, short of a couple Patriots fans harassing a female in our section. They were gone in no time flat courtesy of the orange coats. Past that, I have no reservations taking my spouse to the game, she went to 4 last year and would have went to more if she didn't work weekends. But it will be probably 8-10 years or so before I took my son. Gotta be at least 10 before I'd think about that.
  16. I've been very open about the fact I'm a SC homer, but I sang the praises of Gilmore around here until he finally got the respect he deserved. Cooper is something else. Just a dynamic athlete. Randall Cobb 2.0 Bust: Robert Nkemdiche. He has so much untapped talent, but he's really going to need to end up in the right situation with good coaching to get him engaged and allow him to unlock his full ability Sleepers: I really liked what I saw out of Jason Spriggs the OT from Indiana and Sheldon Day the DL from Notre Dame. With a good OL coach, I could see Spriggs becoming a Bryan Bulaga type RT. Day doesn't have ideal size, but I thought he moved really fluidly and showed explosion in the combine drills. Sometimes guys just succeed even though they aren't a prototype. Kyle Williams, for example.
  17. That's like saying a card carrying KKK member is a prime example of a person who will vote for Donald Trump. Let's not take it to the extremes here. Manziel had talent, yes, and makes dumb decisions, yes. But he also became a superstar on campus very early and by all accounts and his actions, LOVED the spotlight. Believe it or not, not everyone who plays in the NFL also wants to be a celebrity. THAT'S what helped Manziel spiral downward. 22 year olds make lots of dumb decisions. This was one. If it's a pattern of behavior, then you have a problem not just a lapse of judgment.
  18. Thurman just now on Twitter: "Pepper......" Don't tease me Thurman.
  19. Jeremy White made a very good point about Kane on Friday morning. Winnipeg's centermen (and Atlanta before them) aren't exactly very special players. Bryan Little is probably the best center Kane ever played on a line with during his time with the franchise. His career high is points is 64. I think it's pretty likely Kane developed as a high volume shooter almost entirely out of necessity. If you look him up on Hockey Reference, you can see his total shot attempts increase every year, especially when you average them out by game. Its almost like he realized that the team's best chance to score was him carrying the puck in and firing it because his linemates weren't that good. Now that he's playing with Eichel and Reinhart and O'Reilly, he's got to break years of bad habits to trust them. It should come.
  20. Dumb decision but I wouldn't let this affect his position on the draft board at all.
  21. I stopped reading when I got to "4merper" I'm pretty sure he's just I Eat Crayonz back to haunt us again
  22. I could be wrong but couldn't they also lower Gilmore's 2016-cap number if they get him on a long term deal this off-season too? I know his number is something like $11 million this season because its the 5th year option on his rookie deal.
  23. I can't believe people really think a team with their balls to the bandsaw when it comes to the cap would cut a QB for literally $0 in savings AND then pay his replacement. Let it go guys, its not going to happen this year.
  24. Rob. Rex. G.D. Snacks. Coming to HBO, August 2016.
  25. I think my seats were $560 a piece last season. Now $590. Roughly 5% increase
