Bills Working on extensions for Gilmore & Maybe Tyrod
JM57 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You would think that would be the plan; structure each deal around the others so that the "big" years don't coincide with any of the others. Since Glenn's big years are 2017 & 18, make Gilmore's in 2016 and 2021(for example) and TT's in 2019 and 2020. -
Bills Working on extensions for Gilmore & Maybe Tyrod
JM57 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't understand how people can watch the Giants game from this past season and still not understand how good Gilmore is. Odell Beckham terrorized the league--again in 2015. From weeks 1-16, he scored a TD OR topped 100 yards in 12 of 15 games. He topped 100 AND scored in 7 of those games. The 3 games in which he didn't top either mark? Twice against Dallas (Brandon Carr) and Buffalo (Gilmore.) Carr allowed 5 for 44 in week 1 and 4 for 35 in week 7. Gilmore allowed 5 for 38 in week 4. Not only that, but Beckham was so frustrated by Gilmore that he was throwing punches by the end of the game. The kid is good. Period. He shut down the WR that everyone, fans and media alike, drools over. -
My first time account credits totaling something like $55 a month come off on my next bill. Looking forward to see what they offer me since my bill is about to nearly double

Bills Staying in Orchard Park? Buying Up Land Around...
JM57 replied to Hammered a Lot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I park in Lot 3 and IF we get out in a timely fashion (which is always bad enough since for some reason they allow traffic to move westbound on Southwestern from Abbott, but I digress), it takes us longer to get from the lot 3 drive through the traffic circle at Big Tree and South Park than it does to get from the traffic circle to Youngstown. Traffic is TERRIBLE. -

I'm thinking Rex just wants both surfaces available to practice on based on that week's game location. IIRC, the field right outside the field house is the same (awful, slippery) turf as the stadium surface. The "old practice field" directly behind the field house was grass, but in very rough shape the last time I worked a Jim Kelly camp, albeit that was during the Jauron era (2010 I think). -

That aging vet you've heard of was one of the better more consistent interior lineman in the entire league last season. Does that remind you of anyone? Someone who wears #64 perhaps? -

Incognito was drafted in 2005. Slauson was a freshman in the fall of 2005. Just missed each other. -

I had a feeling he'd at least take a look at the Bills because he had played for Rex and Kromer in his previous two stops. Speculation out there is that he's going to look for the best opportunity to start (basically a given considering his age) and honestly, that might be here in Buffalo even though they are apparently looking at him as an RT. Jordan Mills isn't exactly tough competition. The Chargers have Dunlap and Joe Barksdale at OT and just kicked DJ Fluker inside to RG, with Orlando Franklin at LG. That lineup might be a little tougher to crack. -

This is exactly why I made this thread. What if he DID want to play for Rex (and/or Kromer) again? What if he could beat out Miller? What if he's better than Velasco? He can play all along the interior of the line, just like Velasco. He was a college tackle, so in an absolute emergency, he has that versatility too, although it would likely be disastrous, sometimes you have situations where a guy from the interior does have to slide out. -

What if this vet is better than that vet? Not sure that he is, just asking. -

If you're really in win now mode, this is a move you make. The kid was average on his best days last year. If you want Tyrod to stay on the field, better shore up the OL however you can -

He was there from 2013-15, so I would say that yes, there is also a Kromer connection. Seems he's played mostly LG or C in the NFL, but did play mostly RG at Nebraska in his junior and senior seasons after being kicked inside from tackle. -
Guard/center, played for Rex Ryan in New Jersey. On the wrong side of 30, but still a solid starter. Wish the Bills had the cap room to make this work. I think he's an upgrade over John Miller, and probably Velasco as well.

RD 2, Pick 41: LB Reggie Ragland, University of Alabama
JM57 replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nope, and Gilmore still stinks -
This is the Oilers we're talking about. You can never be so sure with them
-
Juolevi would make a great pairing with Ristolainen eventually. Chychrun wouldn't be bad either.
-
Elliott should have no issue being OROY behind that line unless he gets hurt. Ragland and Ramsey probably the best shot at DROY
-
I'm guessing maybe two. Striker probably has a role as a STer and coverage LB/box safety hybrid. That DL has some freakish workout numbers, but dspending how raw he is, might be a better PS candidate. Baby Gronk would have to do a TON to unseat Felton
-
Mad about the Ragland trade? We could always be Tampa Bay..
JM57 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A kicker sees probably 10 snaps a game if you include XP and kickoffs. You're not supposed to DRINK the bong water, bud. If you use the trade value chart, the difference between 41 and 49 is 80 points. #117 is worth 60. Their 5th is worth 28.6, so they could have offered that but then they only would have had the two 6ths today. Offering up a 4th from next year doesn't hurt so much when you have time to get it back. Maybe deal a player who doesn't have a role any more but would fit well elsewhere. Maybe use the 2017 5th they got for Cassel as part of a deal to recoup a 2017 4th. There's time and options. -

RD 3, Pick 80: DT Adolphus Washington, The Ohio State U
JM57 replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This pick just doesn't do it for me. He's a rotational guy and you don't pick for 40 picks after the trade up. Too early for a rotational guy. -
Stop it

Lawson = Michael Bennett type role. 3-4 Base would be Shaq, Z Brown, P Brown, Hughes at LB with Dareus on the nose, Williams at DE, Lord knows who at the other DE. They need to use #49 to get a guy who can play the nose and move Dareus out to 5 tech. 4-3 Under (Pettine front) you can bring Shaq down with his hand on the ground as either a DE or a DT depending on the subpackage, just like the Hawks do with Bennett.
