Mike McDaniel hired as HC by Miami
Captain Hindsight replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
This guy may be the best option for a guy like Tua tho. He got to the NFCCG with Jimmy G Tua isn't nearly as bad as we all want him to be. He's a starter in the league for sure. They just screwed up relative to Herbert. With a good OC and a commitment, Tua might be ok for us to be twice a year by 14 instead of 21 -

Joey Harrington gave an interview once where he was asking why the offense was doing this vs that defense and I think it was Marriucci said "thats how Bill Walsh did it" We know how that turned out -
Brian Flores suing NFL, NY Giants, Dolphins, Broncos.
Captain Hindsight replied to BillsFan4's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m not sure what to make of all this. Flores may have a point if it being a sham interview. I think everyone knew once Schoen got the job it was going to be Daboll. They have a working relationship and giants wanted an offensive coach to help their QB. Daboll is a quality candidate. This isn’t the Texans hiring a guy who has only volunteered at a HS. So yeah, his interview with the giants probably was just to satisfy a rule. We can debate the merits of the Rooney rule, but I’m not sure Flores has Much of a case here. Less than a month ago he had one of 32 exclusive jobs in the NFL Now the 100k per loss is a bombshell IMO. The league just signed gambling deals and has a team in Vegas. Throwing games looks very very bad. Flores is kind of an idiot for filing this while 5 coach openings are still available. He can kiss his NFL career goodbye. I get standing by your principles, but this seems off base to me and I’m not sure what his endgoal is -
I actually think this was the least selfish way to do it. Its a Tuesday Morning of Pro Bowl week. The news was already out, he could have let it linger and he didn't

OL coach Bobby Johnson headed to NY, has signed contract
Captain Hindsight replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
It makes sense to let these coaches go. We already know of two outside interviews that, if hired will want their own staff. Holding back Bobby Johnson or any assistant coach seems silly when they could be let go by whoever takes over as OC. also, it’s not like this team was winning games because of the O line -

Don’t be surprised if the best QB in the league has defenses try to stop him -

Brian Daboll hired to be Head Coach of NY Giants
Captain Hindsight replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm higher on Jones than most. He is a great athlete and has enough tools to be a good starter in the league. I think Daboll can make a good starter out him -
Is he retiring too? That’s an odd move
-
Of course. He will wait until just before kickoff of the Super Bowl to announce it
-
Oh no will they be irrelevant again?
