Three words... ANDY KATZENMOYER JR.
-
1) keep ir real. Schobel essentially played in 4 full games and a small part of the 5th. So, lay off his ass. 2) No schitt... like no one realizes that the Bills couldn't get to the QB this year. Everyone thinks by going out and drafting a DE this year, that's gonna make a difference. It aint... Get real. No NFL team generates 50 sacks a season utilizing their front four. They bring the kitchen sink. LBs and DBs. 3 of the top 4 sackers in the league were OLBs . Everyone seems to want to point at the Bills DEs and totally ignoring the Bills below average linebacking. Denney and Mitchell led the Bills with 4 sacks each. Denney started only 11 games and Mitchell's sacks came up the middle. Stroud and his $4M salary managed a pathetic 2 sacks. Poz and Ellison got zero, ... but everyone wants to put all the blame on Kelsay... and he had the same number of sacks as Stroud.... and nobody's calling out Stroud, Poz, or Ellison. Stroud is barely above average... that's it. Bills need somene along side him that's better than him. Plus, Poz would better be served as a backup... stacked up to the elite MLB's around the league he doesn't measure up very well. Bring in Dansby. Ellison is a journeyman backup. Bills should let his ass go, resign Crowell, and draft Cushing. The secondary needs an enforcer at Safety.... unfortumately there's nothing out there... unless Donavin Darius has anything left. Alas... no matter who the team brings in... and they could bring in 7 superstars and it would not matter, the HC is Jauron. Jauron = zero. You need creativity to generate a pass rush. Anyone believe that Jauron has any of that?
-
Great... just what the Bills need... a wr that will be 32 yrs. old before the season starts and less durable version of Josh Reed. This team is not the 92- or 93 Bills. If it were, then he might be a decent role player pickup.

Is the Tony Gonzalas deal completly dead?
Dr. Trooth replied to DIE HARD 1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
DUDES!!! Stop the fantasy insanity. Get real. Let it go. Gonzales does not want to, and will not, play for the Bills.... period, end of discussion! -
Ask him how he can live with himself making around $400K for what he does?

The Bills new in-game "music" for this season

Great news - Bills not raising ticket prices!!!!!
Dr. Trooth replied to The Senator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
HOW THE HELL IS THIS "GREAT NEWS"? GREAT NEWS WOULD BE THAT THEY ARE DRASTICALLY REDUCING TICKET PRICES SO THE PRICING IS IN LINE WITH THE PRODUCT THEY PUT ON THE FIELD. -
So, what's the argument? Well, there's no argument.... look at the data. Jones finished 5th in rushing, Lynch 13th. Jones average per carry was almost a half yard more than Lynch. Jones had 5 more TDs than did Lynch. an added note... Ronnie Brown ranked 19th, and had more TDs than Lynch and a higher per carry average. So, yeah... Jones is the man in the division. End of story. Oh... and the Bills are not the 2009 version of the Arizona Cardinals. You drink that koolaid and you enable the Bills continuance of delivering a substandard product on the field.

Should we draft a qb every April
Dr. Trooth replied to auburnbillsbacker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why not? They usually end up with at least 2 draft busts a year... why not make one or both a QB? -
OK wet dreamin fantasy boy. Here's one more dose of "REALITY"... KELSAY AIN'T GOIN NOWHERE!!! Sorry that reality sucks for you. Try puttin on a pair of man pants and dealin with it.
-
REALITY TIME: 1) in six seasons he's missed 2 games 2) if not him, then who do you have in mind for the same money that will do a better job? 3) it ain't his fault that the Bills didn't have a backer on his side to lend some help 4) it ain't his fault he's stuck with a HC and DC that are totally clueless

1) SHONERT IS AN INCOMPETENT OC 2) JAURON IS AN INCOMPETENT HC 3) IF THE HC IS INCOMPETENT, HIS SUBORDINATES PROBABLY ARE AS WELL. QUESTION: WHAT ASSISTANT COACHES ON DJ'S (NOT HERE WHEN HE ARRIVED) WOULD LAND ON ANY TOP 15 NFL TEAM IN THEIR CURRENT COACHING POSITION? (HINT: APRIL & TOLBERT WERE ASSISTANTS WHEN DJ ARRIVED) ANSWER: NONE
-
Exactly... continuity = 4th consecutive losing season. Continuity, for the sake of maintaing a bottom third offensive ranking and bottom half defensive ranking. Continuity, as in not having to pay for coaches that are fired. (Hell, I say WTF difference does it make...you're already paying them for nothing). The "disruption" this would cause in Bufflao, is the potential of winning 3-5 more games than this past season by bringing in a competent HC and staff. We can't have that... it would completely turn Buffalo upside down. The entire central and western NY region would not be able to function.
-
Not until the Bills get a QB that can throw the ball downfield. Until then, a TE that can run a 3 yar pattern will be sufficient to sustain a bottom third offensive ranking.

Looks like Mays is off the draftboard
Dr. Trooth replied to nemhoff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not to worry... Having Jauron coach a 4th season assures the Bills of a 5-11 finish next year. Bills can grab him at #6 in next year's draft. -
Amen Bro. I lamented this when 365 was being fed to us a couple years back. I haven't read one of his articles in 2 years. I read more coherent posts on the "wall". Albeit it's only about 2 percent of the posts. If this Conner Byrne dude aspires to be a big time sports journalist afteer he gets out of high school, he first better learn not to be so frickin lazy and stupid. Always stating the obvious. He doesn't do his research and doesn't seem to have any common football sense. I'll take it a step further on the Harrison title. First... Harrison is ancient, and two, there's not a dime's difference between Harrison and Evans, except Evans is a bit bigger. They are both deep threats and Harrison does not go over the middle, he lives on the edges. Any football guy with minimal football knowledge should know that it's not a good pairing. Not to mention that Edwards doesn't have the gun to go deep. The Bills would be better served having a possession receiver that can consistently get open on a 1 - 8 yard pattern so noodle arm Edwards can get him the ball.

It's not the style of defense you play... it's how effective it is... period. Their are crappy 3-4 defenses and great 4-3 defenses. For example: 7 of the top 10 NFL defenses are 4-3 defenses. Pittsburgh had the top NFL defense using the 3-4. However the number 2 defense through the number 7 defense were all 4-3 defenses. COnversely the Chargers and Browns ranked 25th and 26th respectively, using the 3-4. I am a fan of the 3-4 and the Bills, personel wise would need to aquire a good nose tackle... in the 320 lb. plus range, a couple of OLBs, and a couple of DEs. Williams would sufice as a backup NT. Stroud could be a LDE. I have zero doubt that Schobel (if healthy) would be a standout ROLB (if Belichick had him he'd be a star at that position. Poz and Mitchell would line up at ILB and make a good tandem. Depth would be needed at ILB... not sure DiGiorgio would hold up. However, any talk of a 3-4 is a moot point. Genius Jauron and Perrywinkle Fewell wouldn't know the first thing about installing and running a 3-4. Hell, they are supposed experts at running a 4-3 and their D has sucked for 3 years in a row. So as long as this regime is in place, we will not see a 3-4.

mark it down...He won't play in 09. -
WRONG. In FEB., everything needs to broadcast in "digital". do not confuse digital with HD.

I gotz 3 words for you regarding the Bills and Free agency... "CASH TO CAP". That's code for "we ain't spendin schitt"... and if we do, we're going grade B and C... that's our "A" list. Don't worry... the Bills front office will be stirring up a fresh batch of Koolaid by March. This year, they will probably hand out free cups too.
-
Not sure what the worry is about a backup QB. You have to put this in perspective. There are any number of QBs out there that the Bills could aquire or coax out of retirement. For example, Kelly Holcomb or Danny Wuerfel would work. Or Ty Detmer.... or even Coy Detmer. All of these guys and more could easily step in for Trent Edwards and the offense would not miss a beat. Any of those guys could run the 26th rated offense with just as much skill as Trent. They all are check down QBs with pin point accuracy within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage... a perfect fit for this offense. And, as an added bonus, each are as brittle as fine crystal. Ken Dorsey would work well too. Perhaps the Dolphins would be willing to part with John Beck. Or, we just might already be set with Gibran Hamden. Don't worry, be happy

EVEN WHEN DJ'S TEAM APPEARED GOOD, IT WAS BAD
Dr. Trooth posted a topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nuttin we can do about DJ's return, except not buy tix to demonstrate to Ralph that he can shove the current Bills product up his arse. For those fans that think DJ can turn this around, hers's a bit of fact that will bring ya back to earth. Even Jauron's 13-3 Bears team of 2001 was ... 15th ranked on defense 26th ranked on offense defense had 48 sacks, 20 interceptions, and 17 fumble recoveries. This was a team with Warick Holdman, Rosey Colvin, Phillip Daniels, Ted Washington, & Brian Urlacher... etc. Basically this defense clearly played below it's potential. They had a first round bye in the playoffs, then, Philly comes to town and thrashes their asses 33-19. Philly out-gained them 336-184 and almost boubled them in first downs, 19-10. So... DJ had a chance to luck out this past season with an easy schedule, the Pats minus Brady, The Jets sucking with Favre, a rebuilding Dolphins team... and the result a miserable 0-6 in the division and 7-9 finish. No way does this team win 8 games next season... I don't care what free agents and draft pix are brought in. Hey... don't shoot the messenger. Just stating fact and providing an honest assement of next year, based on those facts. -
Ralph should form an advisory committee with some
Dr. Trooth replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
???? RIGHT... I'm sure Wilson would value their feedback. You must not be familiar with Ralph much. It's his way or the highway. His first priority is $$$, his second priority is $$$, his third priority is $$$, and his 4th priority is to win as many games as his $$$ will allow. At 90, he ain't gonna change. Ain't happening. Ralph only gets his ass in gear when his season tix drop below 35,000. And even before getting his ass in gear, he first threatens to move the team.
