  1. Dude... the only thing this means is that the vikes are keeping their options open. Consider this... Allen will cost them a 1st rd pick plus the highest contract on their team by a considerable margin. If they've entertained Allen and have discussed the framework of a contract and know what the Chiefs are looking for as compensation, they have this as one option. On draft day, the Vikes will sit back and watch what happens. If their guy is there at #11... Harvey? then they have a choice... deal with the Bills so that Denver won't take him and pay a lot less than for Allen. Perhaps if Harvey is not there at #11, then when pick #17 comes up, they can give it to the Chiefs in exchange for Allen. Another possibility might be for the Chiefs to trade Allen straight up for Mckinnie if they don't get OT Long at #5 and instead take a DL. But I don't think there will be any movement on Allen until the draft.
  2. wanna bet?
  3. Relax... he'll be there in the 3rd. Bills will then flip a coin betwen him and Malcom Kelly. Bills are goin "d" in the first two rounds
  4. Name those games!!!... and the error of his ways. And, at the same time, let us how many other Bills you're letting off the hook for failure to carry out their assignments in those same games.
  5. Let's get real here. This new stadium in LA is a friggin wet dream. It ain't gonna happen. These so called entrepreneurs are not going to pony up their kwan or get enough private money for this wet dream. So, the nail in their coffin will be when they seek public funding. Between now and the 22nd century, that ain't gonna fly in California. Christ, the Chargers can't even get a new stadium.
  6. So why do all the experts say he ain't woth #11? Didn't David Boston create matchup problems?
  7. Here's the translation of what Modrak is really saying... "We like Kelly, and all along we've slotted him as a 3rd rounder. So, we're not detracted by his 40 time and have him still slotted there. If he's there when our pick comes up in the third, unless there's someone else we like at that spot, he's our man."
  8. doesn't matter... won't happen and an NFL team wouldn't survive there anymore... no interest. Ask Georgia Frontiere (from her grave) and Al Davis.
  9. patriots, patriots, and patriots again in the playoffs. That is the only trifecta that can get us to heaven.
  10. . From news of a couple years back, Bills had no interest in Huff... at all. Whitner was in their crosshairs all along. They thought they might be able to trade down to #12 and get him. But, with the Raiders taking Huff, the Bills panicked and took Whitner. The story is, had the Raiders not taken Huff, the Bills were sure the Lions would have and would have been comfortable moving down 4 spots and getting Whitner anyway. As far as R Rich's tune... it is sage advice. He's spot on. There is no single player that is going to get the Bills to to the promised land any time soon. They need a lot of players in many places. they need depth and players that can make a quantum leap a year and two years from now at DT,LB,CB,WR,TE,OL,FB,QB. Folks tend to forget this team is young and just establishing it's core identity on offense with Edwards and Lynch... We're not sure if, or how, Evans may factor into the mix, but that will come to light during the season. Defensively the Bills are quietly establishing their core as Poz, McCargo, Whitner, Kelsay, and Shobel. Stroud is a temporary fix, unless he proves otherwise. Crowell, Greer, McGee may be in the same situation as Evans.
  11. Ellison is a bum.. Bills only have what I would consider 4 legitimate backers. If either of the outside backers go down, the Bills are in deep doo-doo... Ellison is a turnstyle with no stops.
  12. Get used to being frustrated then... cuz there ain't a top wide out in this draft. No instant puddin!! I don't think the Bills will touch a wr before R3 unless they clearly see value with their R2 pick.
  13. They have similar characteristics, but, give JP some credit. He's a lot better QB than Johnson.
  14. The problem with Matt Jones is that he's a development project at wr. He was a QB that was turned into a WR... He has relied soley on his physical gifts, but has not seemed to either want, or to be capable of, learning /grasping the nuances of a productive wide receiver. I don't know if he'll ever make that step forward... but if he's cut, there will be Teams like Denver, Tampa Bay that would take a shot at him before the Bills would have a chance.
  15. My hat is off to you. You "get it". The front 7 is really what makes everything happen on defense. I'll say this about drafting a DE #1.... unless their name is Bruce Smith, their skill will be neutralized very easily if their is not a monumental presence in the middle. If the inside guys command a double team, then the outside guys will have a field day. With McCargo coming on, and, if (big if) Stroud is the same player he was two seasons ago, then Kelsay, Denney, Schobel, and Johnson are going to have a feast this season.... BUT, if Stroud is like five other DTs that were traded over the past 3 or so seasons (Courtney Brown, Jimmy Kennedy, Gerard Warren, Corey Simon, Bugar McFarland), then we got ripped off. If Stroud isn't who he was, gets injured, suspended, it is going to be another long season on the shores of Lake Erie. Therefore... my personal 1st pick would be a dominat DT. I won't put a name to that person because I'm not sure who the best fit is for this team right now.... all I know is it's imperitive to get a really good one, and NOW. In a nutshell... the hopes and dreams of any significant move forward hinge on the middle of the defense... that's on McCargo and Stroud. Offensively, the offensive line is above average but could use a more physical presence at Center... but the biggest difference maker on offense this season will be Trent Edwards... Our beloved Bills will only be as good, offensively, as he is. Marshawn has a big traget on his jersey and defenses will be stacking the line to stop him... so, it's up to Edwards to administer a poison pill to those defenses that choose to put all of their eggs in one basket to stop Marshawn.
  16. This would figure... Where are defensive linemen sent their NFL death? you guessed it... Denver
  17. Not sure why you would consider DE a priority in Round 1. Schobel and Kelsay are entrenched as the starters and the Bills have locked them up contactually. That was done for a reason. On top od that, the Bills have Denney.... and I don't care what the dufusses on this board think... Denney would start on a few NFL teams... is is an extremely competent DE... especially against the run. Add to the mix Spencer Johnson, who will assume the Anthony Hargrove role as a situational pass rusher, inside and off the edge as Hargrove did, and I don't see another DE as a priority. I splained my position... now, splain yours so I cna understand.
  18. Well, I guess I would, now, wouldn't I? That is just incredible logic on your part. And... again .... if they don't? Well, wouldn't that make them on the same treadmill? You can bet I'll probably repeat the same treadmill comments, then. And they'd be valid. Anyone that thinks the Bills defense will jump from 31st to a top 10 or 12 with simply the return of POZ and KO plus the addition of Stroud & Mitchell is smokin some real good schitt. And the Bills O ain't gonna step it up enough to compensate for any defensive shortfalls. Same HC, same MO.
  19. until the bills bone up their front seven, i don't care if jesus christ lines up at CB... he's going to get toasted unless the Bills can put he heat on the QB. Bills have 5 LBs... 3 starters a competent backup in the middle, then Ellison. That's scary. If Stroud goes down, or gets busted for roids again, we're back to where we were last season. So... a competent OLB and a DT, to be heir to Stroud, better be in the bills crosshairs or it is going to be another long season on the same freakin traedmill
  20. Not 2b a dick, but Butler was an Rt in college. DeBrickishaw Ferguson was the LT. Ain't no way a rookie is going to come in and take away any of the current starters jobs on the O line this season. The only way they paly at all is if there's an injury.
  21. The only thing you left out was a LB.... or two. You see, other than DiGiorgio and Ellisson (and Ellisson is barely adequate) there is no depth, and Crowell is a FA after next season. So... I'm not trying to disappoint anyone, but I am preparing you for at least one, and perhaps two LBs to be selected in rounds 1-4.
  22. Right... this has got to be an April Fools joke. Jauron? A caoch that lives and breathes shortening the game via time of possesion and keeping his defense fresh? quicker offensive tempo? not on your life!!!
  23. Bills signed Courtney Anderson.... does this mean Robert Royal is on the trading block?
  24. Dude... you just don't get it. The Bills could start Jesus H. Christ and it would make just a marginal difference, unless he could change the bad weather into sunny and 70. The Bills don't play home game in that kind of weather after mid October. Plug in Todd Heap, Tony Gonzales, and Antonio Gates as the Bills three TEs... all that's going to do is make Marshawn suffer from the laack of blocking from the TE and result in more 3 and outs (which Jauron loves). TEs in Buffalo are an after thought. They are good for the dink and dunk and occasional 13 yarder for a 1st down. Ralph is not going to pay top TE$$ for mediocre TE utilization... end of story.
  25. What/who, is a legitimate TE? What if the Bills end up with one? What then? How will we know he's legit? They won't utilize the TE like Tony G. or Antonio G. Does legitimate mean he will have to catch 68 Balls a season like Meztelaars and average 9.0 YPC in doing so? If that's the case... you won't live to see a Bills TE do that again... 93 is as good as it gets. The Bills TEs caught 56 Balls and 5 TDs last year... and you're bitching about TE performance? It's a dink and dunk offense... it is what it is and it may get a tad more aggressive... but not at the expense of T.O.P. ain't gonna happen Hey, but you can dream... you're OK with that. Me, I like to keep it real.
