  1. I'm totally stunned... and disappointed over Ralph's decision to retain Jauron. I can't fathom what is goin on in Ralph's head, so I've tried to inerpret his statement.. I know I'm fired up right now, but this is what I came up with. ,Please share your interpretation. I need comforting and I don't want to get enibriated before tomorow night. "The team played hard all year long and there are many positives to build on." REALLY? PLEASE SHARE THOSE POSITIVES WITH US. WTF? "In my discussions with Dick and our senior football people the issues are recognized and I am confident they will be addressed.” YEAH, RIGHT, WHATEVER. WAS "SENIOR" A TYPO AND YOU REALLY MEANT SENILE? ISSUES RECOGNIZED... ADDRESSED? WHATEVER “I believe in the last few years we have gotten close personnel wise and look forward to another strong draft, more assertive veteran leadership and continued improvement from our young quarterback.” WHAT? CLOSE TO WHAT, THE NUMBER 1 PICK IN THE DRAFT? MORE ASSERTIVE VETERAN LEADERSHIP? DUDE, WHO THE HELL ARE THE VETERAN LEADERS ON THIS TEAM TO BEGIN WITH, LET ALONE ASSERTIVE ONES? Yo, Ralph, I don't know what meds you're on, but you might want to conteplate switching. I just looked at next year's schedule. All of those teams are going to improve to some degree. And all of them got Dick's number... For Christs sake a million Bills fans have his number. So, with the same loser coaches and bringing in your usual 2 or 3 grade B free agents plus drafting six or seven rookies... none of which will have an impact, how the hell is this team going to win a game in their own division first of all? That's six losses right there, and with luck, maybe only 4 losses. This team ain't gonna beat Indy, New Orleans, Tennessee, or Carolina. Right now I count at least 8 losses, giving you the beneft of the doubt. And then you still have to contend with Atlanta & Tampa, & an improving Houston team. I'm doing the math, and no way will this team win 7 games next year, let alone any talk of playoffs.
  2. PER ESPN
  3. IMO... Schobel's a workhorse at 243 lbs.... he just doesn't have any competent help. You wanna give him up to New England? He'd be a superstar OLB in Belichick's 3-4 and end up with 25 sacks. Dockery... I'll give ya that one...I'm not sure I'd want him as a backup at the NFL minimum wage. Kelsay... Big mistake showing an average (at best) DE the money. Evans... come on... his QBs have been JP Losman and the dink & dunk brothers Holcomb & Edwards (what's Edward's throwing range, 45 yards max? with the wind)... and let's not mention the offensive coordinators. Put him on the Chargers, Giants, Steelers, Colts, or Patriots and he be catching 100 balls and 15 TDs a season
  4. One thing I know is that of those 16 coaches, the two most successful coaches, Saban and Levy, had a history of positional coaching on both sides of the ball, in addition to being both successful coordinators as well as successful head coaches in college. If I were Ralph for a day, I wouldn't simply look at successful coordiators at the pro level. Number one, I want an HC that has proven abilty at the administrative level and has a track record of that. Then I want a guy that hates to lose. A coach that will not take schitt and is not afraid to get in a players face when needed. One that has emmotion and can motivate his players and take them to the next level. I'd look for positional experience on both sides of the ball... in college and the NFL and succesfulcoordinator experience at the college level and NFL level. Ladies and gentlemen...I'll offer one name that might be good fit... but only if Ralph is willing to clean house with every assistant in the house... including Chuck Lester, John Allaire, Bobby April, and Alex VanPelt, as well as bringing in a football guy (not John Guy) to run the pro personnel side. And then, Ralph must stop this cash to cap bullschitt and make a comittment to winning .. he just got a $15M windfall/year over the next 4 years just for taking his show on the road an hour and a half north of the Ralph. This name I'm dropping is Paul Pasqualoni. Yeah the one that got fired at the cuse. Look at his record... he got a raw deal cuz he couldn't recruit a lot of top talent to the cuse... mostly because of the facilities to compete with other schools... which Crouthhamel wouldn't do. Then Gross builds a brand spanking new state of the art work out facility for Robinson... a coach of who reached a new level of incompetence. I don't know what Coach P could do for the Bills... but I doubt anyone believes he would not be a significant upgrade over Jauron. Since getting canned at the cuse, Coach P was Parcells TE coach in Dallas (Whitten and Fasano) and under Wade he moved to LBs (Ware and James), before moving onto Miami this year as defensive coordinator, and taking a defense, minus their two stars of the past decade, to a division crown. If it were up to me, I'd make the call, but not before making the comittment to give him the support staff and the recources needed to succeed. Without providing that support system, Ralph is setting up every coach he hires, for failure.
  5. I don't have a dvr, but I crush a lot of stuff to MPEG2 and then author a DVD. What file format is the DVR (extension?) Is it and MPEG2, M2T (HD), or other? A file converter might be what you need. One thing... if you are recording a program in HD format, you can't have HD on a DVD unless it is in AVCHD format... and then you can't play it on a DVD player... only bluray or PS3. One thought... you can play it out of your dvr and either go straight to a set top dvd burner or do a video capture on your computer from the dvr if you have the capture card and a robust enough system to handle full frame HD video.
  6. wel, I don't think you'll need to make this plea. When the Pats ure up 35-0 at the end of the 1st, i think the exits will be full.
  7. Regardless of who you root for...the bottom line is, IT WAS A TOUCHDOWN!!!! Both feet were down in the endzone, the nose of the ball penetrated the goal line. In the end, the righ call was made. End of story.
  8. but romeo beat jauron earlier this season... so wins trump losses... so, dick wins the tie breaker and is safe as the biggest loser coach. I think jauron and greg robinson should get together and coach the jv footbal team in barrows, alaska
  9. Who the "f" is responsible for not having talent? If it ain't Jauron's fualt, then who get's the blame? Guy, Modrak, Bran-done-nuthin", or you, Ralph?"?????????????? You sayin there isn't any other coach out there that could take the same 53 and yield a significantly better result Jauron?
  10. I believe Schobel, for sure would excel at OLB in the 3-4... just as Paup did in the mid 90's. Kelsay possibly could be a OLB in the 3-4... we know he's athletic and can run, and has dropped into coverage on many occaision. Poz and Mitchell would definitely be better suited to the 3-4, both lining up on the inside. I think they's be better than the Nelson/Haslett and Conlin/Benley tandems. Not sure if DiGeorgio would hold up as a backup. Stroud would probably line up as LDE. Williams, would probably be a really good change of pace back up at NT. Bills would have to find a suitable starting NT and RDE. In addition, the Bills would need to bring in at least 3 LBs that are competent backups and potential starters. The secondary should be solid
  11. Not necessarily. What Guy and Modrak need is a GM with nads and a plan to right the ship. Obviously, Ralph doesn't have the time, energy, or the depth of field on the necessary personnel moves at this stage of the game.... and for God sakes, Brandon has no clue... he's just a damn good salesman. 50% of TBD'ers could probably put together a better team within the same constraints he has. You bring in a football guy as GM... one that is a straight shooter and up front with everyone, and has a clear plan. That person would spell out the expectations for Guy and Modrak. If those two aren't in lock step with that.... then adios... we'll get someone that will.
  12. It all begins at the top. If you think Jauron and his staff working 120 hrs. a week and giving him better players is going to make this team a lot better, well, I own a bridge in Brooklyn that I'll sell you for cheap. To address Jauron, specifically... he has no business being a head coach... let alone giving him more input in personnel decisions than most HCs in the league... how's that worked out? Nuff said. This organization is incompetent... and Ralph likes it that way. At 90 years old, he doesn't give a flip anymore. His candle has burned out. His goal at this point is to be barely adequate and marginally competetive. He has put the operation of this team in the hands of a bunch of caretakers until God calls his number. These Bozos have no clue how to put a winner together. There is no direction, there is no plan to make this team a bonafide SB contender. Russ Brandon doesn't know a football player from a concert pianist. His strategy is the same as Microsoft's... let's not spend $$$ to fix Vista, let's just put all that $$$ into marketing and bullsh-- everyone into believing it's a beautful thing. I can't wait to see what his next sales pitch is. This team is no closer to the playoffs than it was 8 years ago, and they had the NFL's easiest schedule. If he sells as many season tix next year as he did this year, he ought to be mentioned in the same breath as P.T. Barnum.
  13. let me "axe" all of you a question? If you are Matt Cassell, do you want any part of the freakin Detroit Lions? Too many other options for Cassell... Bucs, Vikings, 49ers, Rams
  14. who do we go after? GM and HC. If we don't, any player aquisition won't make much of a difference.
  15. true... and my guess would be that they prefer to go with 4 DTs instead of 4 DEs So.... I'd suspect Ellis to be inactive because Spencer Johnson is versatile enough to play DE (and has).
  16. Trust me... I've been around a while... Jauron is the champ... he has no peers when it comes to being unemmotional. Even "stoneface" Tom Landry showed more emmotiion. And... as far as Noll... no way he even makes this list in my book. He may not have shown a lot of emmotion, but he showed it.
  17. they passed on him in the middle of last season because the Bills wnated a one year deal and he wanted more than that. My understanding is the Bills didn't go after him last march beause of that plus the Stroud deal and they thought McCargo was coming around. ... as you put it they must really hate McCargo to bring Kennedy in.... I think it's fair to say that McCargo is gone after the season... his number of inactives would bear that out. So... what it comes down to if they are considering Kennedy... 1) will he clearly be an upgrade to McCargo, and make a significant contribution? 2) will he come in on the Bills terms? I'll also put my two cents in on the JAX situation... with the crap that's been goin on down ther lately with Peterson, DelRio moving lockers around and treating adults like kids, now Kennedy, and the sideline a$$ ripping he gave the team on Sunday... if he ain't already lost the team, he's damn close.
  18. you have nothing to apologize for. You are simply stating reality. Reality is neither positive or negative..., it is what it is. For the fans that can't handle the truth and everything must have a positive spin, or else.... well, if hope and saying nice things about a team is their way of getting through the day so be it. That is what it is and you can't change it. They certainly don't have much knowledge about the sport if they think this team is playoff material.
  19. Not to pi$$ in anybody’s Cheerios after a bittersweet win (against yet another losing team). Well, whoopty freakin doo… After one “W” against the 2nd worse team in the league, I find no solace. No matter how this Bills season plays out (include me on the list of those that contend they will not make the playoffs… Christ, they’ve not beaten a >.500 team). It matters not what player acquisitions are made in the offseason. Until the Bills have in place a GM and HC that despise losing, they will not do any serious bidding for another Super Bowl. The past 8 seasons (including this season) have been a disaster. in 1999 and 2000, the Bills ranked 1st & 3rd in defense... and even had a respectable offense. But, since Buter and A.J. Smith left, this organization it has been a tailspin. 3 GMs and 3 HCs later this team has not been able to right itself.
  20. Dude... why shoot the messenger? Why do you think Sully's not spot on here? I mean... any coach with half a brain could see that Edwards was way oout of whack Monday night... He should have yanked him in lieu of JP... period. In not doing that, he looke pretty stupid to me.
  21. Evans has the best stats of any Bills receiver in Bills History over the first 4 years of their career. Now... some questions for you... Andre Reed was argueable the best Bill receiver. Without a QB such as Kelly... would he have put up those numbers and would you have questioned whether or not Reed was a number one receiver? I Evans was catching passes from Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Phillip Rivers, or Brett Favre, would you ask that same question? Lastly... what is your litmus test for a number one receiver? What must Lee Evans do to meet your qualifications as a number one wr? It is not Lee's fault that he plays for a team that has a POS coach, OC, and QB.
  22. It seems like the entire organization, from the top down is a huge clusterphuck right now. At age 90, does Ralph really care about Ws and Ls right now. Or, is he just keeping costs low setting the franchise up for its eventual sale? When you look at their structure… you’ve got a guy (Brandon) that is not a football guy… basically just a manger type… who made his name in marketing. Not a guy that spent much of his life around players, coaches, countless hours of film and scouting…. Nor is there evidence he even has the passion, savvy, or stomach, for the game like most GMs. The you have the other “guy”… as in John Guy… who keeps track of the players in the pro ranks and keeps tabs on them. Then you have the “cap guy”… Overdorf… he’s really the champion of ‘cash to cap’ and restricts the Bills from what Ralph considers over spending… even though they are like $25 mil under the cap or something like that. Then you have Modrak, the guy who scouts college players and just brings back the dossiers of those players fro draft and free agent consideration. Then you have Jauron… is he the guy that make the decision on who, I believe, probably has more control and input on personel than any other coach in Bills history… and if that’s the case… no wonder things are such a mess… Guy and Modrak bring their player dossiers to Brandon. Brandon says to Jauron “here’s the lists, who do you want” cuz Brandon certainly doesn’t know WTF the Bills need or are going. Jauron says “him, him, and him”. Brandon says “OK Dick, I’ll run these names up to Overdorf and have him contact their agents and run the numbers”. And then Brandon brings back the news to Jauron and things go from there. At least this is what it seems like. Jauron may or may notbe a good coach…. But I’ll bet you one thing right here and now… if Polian was sitting in Brandon’s spot… Jauron and this team would be totally different. Polian, or any other good GM, wouldn’t put up with what’s happening now. So, it all has to all point all to Ralph for structuring the team like he has. He hasn’t set this organization up to win games… he’s set it up to lose games… and just keep the financials at an even keel so that it’s attractive for sale. What else would explain this frickin mess?
  23. Are we bearing witness to the biggest collapse in Pro Football History? After 5-1… 10 straight Losses? Let’s face it folks… after last night’s huge disappointment you have to wonder where this team is going to end up. The one thing that I’m sure struck everyone was Trent’s unwillingness to go downfield with the ball or even see the field. Even more disconcerting than that … after his 3 picks and watching him play into the third quarter, why Jauron would not pull him in favor of JP is unfathomable for an NFL head coach. JP may or may not have made a difference… we’ll never know. I mean really… there are several points to be made by yanking him… be it for a spark, sending a message to Trent that there are consequences for piss poor performance, and to the team… showing, as coach, you are steering the ship, and if a player is playing like dog schitt, you’re gonna sit. If he thinks benching Hardy was sending much of a message… well, he’s as dumb as a box of rocks then. Anyway, based on what I’ve seen the past several weeks, there’s nothing that could convince me that this team will win any of our remaining games… I’m not being an ass… I’m serious…and here’s where I’m coming from… SF--- rejuvenated under Singletary. Not the same team… they play with passion. Took Zona to the wall. KC---seemingly getting better… always tough to beat in Arrowhead and LJ back in the fold. MIA--- just a fired up group that doesn’t have to worry about the elements in Toronto… plus they spanked the Bills a few weeks back. JETS--- on the road… can’t run on them, and Trent won’t go downfield on them, nor is the coach willing to attack DEN--- at mile high. The D is nothing, but the Bills have no O to worry them. Their passing attack is lethal and the Bills pass rush anemic… and they won’t dare blitz Cutler like they did Quinn. PATS--- what can I say… the Bills are just plain intimidated and afraid of them. I hate to think it but this looks like a real possibility. And even worse is the thought of Jauron returning for another season, let alone two or three… I just do not see this team coming even remotely close to the next level with him as coach. Please… feel free to convince me otherwise.
  24. You'd think the cure for the Bills losing skid would be the Browns. Yep... they give up 145 yds. on the ground/game, 230 yds. per game passing, and they're 3-6. Just what the doctor ordered, right? Nope, not this doctor. After further review, think again. The Browns 6 losses have come at the hands of the Cowboys, Steelers, Redskins, Ravens (twice), and Broncos. All teams that are 6-4 or better. Their wins have come against the Bengals, Giants, and Jags. And, they've accomplished something the Bills have not been able to do... beat a team that is better than .500.... and mind you, they accomplish that against the Giants... argueably the best team in the league. The only common opponent... the Jags. So, the Browns have been facing much stiffer competion. That said... I'm neither holding a half full cup nor a half empty cup of anything. However, I am holding a full cup of reality... and with the browns having 11 days to prepare for this game and Jamaal Lewis questioning his team's manhood, tonight's national spectacle may not have the outcome we're all hoping for. The Bills could very well end up being the cure for their own losing skid. Let's hope not. Don't shoot the messenger.
  25. Tellin it like it is... OL/WR/RB/QB/TE... none of them are playing close to their potential... either individually or collectively. Truth is, this is very poorly coached team from the HC on down. Turk is not an OC... or even a good QB coach. No one can name me a QB that he's tutored that is a star, because none exist. Same with Fewell. He's not even as good as Jerry Gray... and Gray was a scrub, but at least he had fire. Fewell is merely a career DB position coach. And, Jauron is a "B" level defensive coordinator. Neither JP or TE have ever had an opportunity to play within a well coached, immaginative offense. No Norv turner, No Mike Martz, No Moore, no Gruden, no Henning, no Weiss, No Cameron, no Peyton. So, we really don't know he good either of them is or can be. Bills just keep on getting B grade coaches and the team performs at that level. B grade coaches are B grade coaches because they can't make the "A" list. They want their team and players to perform better, but they can't because B grade coaches don't get better... if they did they'd be "A" listers. If a "B" grade coach can't make it to the "A" list in a couple of years, in the vast majority of cases they are going to remain at "B" grade.
