John Clayton is 1-2 plays better than Ellison. Why sign a player that's only 1-2 plays better when you really need a LB that is 30 plays better?

You preface this all by saying "tensions high". Why.... it's basically a change of supplier. The structure is likely to remain intact. However, several teams appear to have co-opped to leverage a provider that costs less to administer and deliver better value. Nothing wrong with that.

I have also noticed a trend... the past 4 seasons the defense has given up an avg. of 340 yds. per game. In the past 3 seasons under Jauron and "Fewelltility", the Bills have never averaged less than 326 yds. per game. So, I guess Dick is rallying the troops and shooting for under 326. You never know... with some luck and a real set of linebackers we could be sitting at 8-8.

Guys that are 6'8" have short arms... they don't have long enough arms to play tackle. Everyone knows that.

They kept blabbin about how instinctive Harris is.... supposedly he diagnoses plays quickly...which makes him appear to play faster than his numbers. Freeman might have been able to be plugged in right away. Harris has to adapt to a new position and be able to take on blockers... something that he aint done a lot of. To me, the line backing is clearly the weakest link on the D. Mitchell is perhaps just a hair above average. Poz has been a disappointment. The guy they bring in to assume Fletcher's role hasan't come close to what Fletcher meant to the D. Ellison is a bum. I'd grade him out a B- as a backup WIL... as a starter a C-, being generous. Pat Thomas is a bum, and DiGeorgio is a career backup at best. Getting way off the original topic of Harris vs. Freeman.... the defense has bits & pieces... but no heart and soul. Geez... kinda characterizes the head coach.

Thank you. Comparing Maybin to Freeney was retarded. There is none. Freeney is superior... period Maybin is a gamble. A one year wonder with a lot of potential. It's a High risk, high reward pick...if he pans out. IMO, his best chance for success is at OLB in a 3-4. Penn State alums haven't fared well in the pros lately.... Brian Scott is no prize, Lavar Arrington was personna non grata after only 2 seasons with the Skins, Jimmy Kennedy has proved to be a career journeyman. And the last two gems to come into the NFL, Poz and Conner, have been, quite frankely, disappointing. I can go on and on ... Kijana Carter... the other RB just a few years ago, the QB turned RB in San Fran, etc. Penn State seems to be churning out bust after bust lately, or so it seems. Bills can't afford for Maybin to maintain that trend. He'll either break it or keep the trend going

I take it you are anot to familiar how the real live NFL football works.. Giving up Evans after him just signing him to a fat contract would be prohibitive because all of the bonus money would go against athis years cap.... Bills couldn't do it and expect to sign a scrub, let alone Boldin. Maybe you can pull this trade off in Madden.

Stop comparing physical attributes of Maybin and Freeney. It's irrelevent. For christ sake... maybe you better compare Maybin woth Erik Flowers... it would make more sense. Freeney was the man. he was a beast for 3 years... not a one season wonder like Maybin (and Flowers). And, he set sack records in an era when Syracuse football was somewhat competitive. Freeney was a force with Indy right off the bat. Maybin won't be with the Bills. He ain't steppin in and takin nobody's job this year.

Jones is a POS. Pashos? Get real... there's a reason why Jax signed FA LT Tra Thomas and drafted two tackles in the 1st round. If Pashos was worth a flip they wouldn't brought in real tackles. The only legit LT out there right now might be Tauscher... and he might be damaged goods or have nothing left in the tank.

dude... in reality, only 2 CBs were drafted. McGee's contract is up soon and they need to have a suitable replacement. Youboty is ready... but you have to question his durability. Florence is a short term piece of bubblegum to plug a hole. And, I don't see Corner ever getting a starting role.

If Hangartner starts for the Bills longer than half the season, the Oline is going to have a less than what the fans are expecting, in terms of overall performance. Hangartner is a career backup and marginal starter. They know he ain't the answer at C or G. The need to start him will depend on what the Bills end up doing at LT. If they have to move Butler or Walker over there, it will create a void, which Hangartner may have to fill. temporarily. I don't believe all the BS about D. Bell being penciled in at aither tackle... I'll believe it when I see him perform... and we'll know within a few games whether or not he's a bonafide starter.

With the run on DBs... at least 2 of which project to safety, do the Bills think Whitner is facing suspension or want to move him? Or is one of the other safeties (we know Simpson is) on the way out?
