  1. Haslet? WTF? What an absolute POS as an HC. He failed in NO. And, as the DC for the Rams, then interim HC, he was passed over by the Rams for their HC position. There's a reason for that... he flat out sucks. He's the anti Jauron, alienates players and makes life miserable for them. Has the my way or the highway approach. That bull sh-- works fine if you know wtf you are doing like Belichick, Parcells, Schottenheimer, Fisher, or Cowher.
  2. Or, do you define truth as pessimism because maybe you can't handle reality? Just being realistic. "Hope" is not a strategy. You must be a newbie. I know bad fish when I smell it. I've been a fan long enough to see them win AFL championships, AFC Division crowns, and 4 AFC crowns. So, I know what championship teams look and smell like... and this team ain't anywhere close to any of the the tams of the mis 60's, early 80's and the 90's.
  3. 8-8. But what does that indicate?
  4. There are three components to nailing the deep one. Protection A QB that has the arm to air it out 60-65 without an extended wind up a receiver that can get downfield quickly. Will one out of three cut it?
  5. I think a used Yugo would be a more accurate description. At least a Chevy Impala is only disposable after the first 40K miles.
  6. Sounds 'spot on' to me. Refreshing to see truth in print instead of propaganda.
  7. Nope. Still on course to land a top five pick and a new coaching staff.
  8. I do believe the Browns and Chiefs are 3-4s. If so, 10-6 just became 8-8. Then, when you see the Saints, Panthers, Titans, Falcons, & Colts on the schedule, it's looking more like 4-12 if they steal one of those games.
  9. Whoopty do dah day... he calls out a reporter. By the same token... Evans subtly called Edwards out. How bout that? So, now we've got Sully, Kelly, Thermal, Evans, and a lot ot of fans on his case. We got it all wrong.
  10. Well.... I'll summarize 1) you have a coaching staff, from top to bottom, that is totally clueless. 2) you have a coach that is spineless and devoid of any competitive spirit. 3) you have a roster full of pussies. Think of it in these terms... axe yourself this question... how does today's D personnel compare to the one of 5 years ago? Pat Williams Sam Adams Lawyer Milloy Troy Vincent Nate Clements TKO London And... another illustration... except for Rhodes (who is the Bills best RB), none of them are very instictive, hit the hole quickly, nor can they make defenders miss. Travis Henry was the last good back the Bills had. Ain't no back on the Bills that's gonna gain 1400 yds + a season. Evans is the best player on the team but a lot of fans on this board say he isn't a #1 wr. Well, OK... trade him to the Chargers, Colts, Cowboys, Steelers or Pats and we'll see what you think then.
  11. when Edwards gets picked its usually when he throws the seed 15 + yds. down the field. He doesn't have much of an arm... and lets face it... he can't throw deep. Jauron is a "let's try not to lose the game" coach. Well, he's a got a dream QB for that strategy.
  12. I don't think you get it. In preseason, it ain't whether you win or lose.... it's how you play the game. When you live in a division of 3-4 defenses and still haven't figured out how to play against one, that's not OK, that's a huge problem. When your starters get smoked 21-zip and the players are comfortable and OK with it, saying crap like we'll learn from our mistakes, that's a bunch of loser hooey and is an indicator that it's acceptable. If I were one of the players I'd have been a man about it and flat out said we stunk, we were pathetic, and enourage the fans to call us out when we play like that.
  13. as long as they've got russ "Barnem" as the marketing man and a bunch of suckers... they'll whip up a fresh batch of koolaid (see TO) to sell tix.
  14. trent's lost becuase he's a career backup teying to fill a starter's role. He ain't even as good as Fitz. His contract's up after this season.... you wanna pay him Manning money?
  15. WTF??? Positives???? How bout you take your skirt off, put on some man pants, and we just all tell the truth and stop pretending its all good. Tis is exactly the problem.... To you and fans like you, last nights game is acceptable. You've become (or maybe you're just that way) pussified.
  16. Cuts? What will that do? The 4 biggest problems.... in their order of concern. 1) Jauron is not an NFL head coach.... period. At best, he's a good DB coach in the NFL. That's it. 2) Turk Schonert is not an NFL OC... period. At best, he's a lower echelon QB coach in the NFL. 3) Perry Fewell is not an NFL DC... period. Jauron is, and has been the defacto DC the past 3 years 4) Russ Brandon is not an NFL GM... he's a marketing guy, and a good one... that's it. It starts at the top.... If Wilson is content with losers as coaches, and having a GM with no sound football knowledge and strategy, then this is is good as it gets. Wilson jettisoned the best GM in the NFL many years ago, then canned another good one a few years later. Nothing like cutting off the hands that feed you. Hard to say how good or if the players are any good when you have a coaching staff that flat out sucks. The same staff would suck at the college level. There's no spirit, emotion, soul, purpose, or pride with this staff. This group of Bills is the most pussified in their history. Even the teams of 84 and 85 had more moxie. This coaching staff is pathetic. If you brought in Schottenheimer to coach (he's too old), this team would win at least 4 more games that with Jauron. Jauron has set a tone... behave, be nice, cum bai ah, and let's see what happens. As Jim Mora once said... "Playoffs? Playoffs? Are you kidding?" Sorry folks, playoffs ain't happenin this season... 55K season tix for this crap? people are dumb. What a waste of $$$, what a waste of Sunday afternoons.
  17. Would you rather Sal sugar coat it or tell the truth? "Captain checkdown"? Is that not an accurate and true description of Trent? This team, in no way resembles either the Bills of 63-66, 79-82, or 88-95..... that's what it takes to get to the playoffs. The Bills go as far as Trent takes them. Until Trent proves otherwise, he is a good backup QB filling a starters role until the Bills get a real starting QB.
  18. Impressive from what I saw. Compared to Clemens, I thought Clemens sucked. Sanchez looked comfortable and decisive. Clemens looked scripted and going with the first option. Couldn't tell much about Sanchez's arm strength... only stayed for about a half hour.
  19. Since I live about a mile from SUNY Cortland, I made a cameo at last night's practice.... shot a few minutes of video til security said "no video", then left. There were about 6,000 people that showed up. 281 southbound was nuts. Anyway, I threw the Jet fans a bone by posting the video I shot up on youtube for them to see, and let em know on their Gang green Board.. Who knows... Belichick has probably been watching it all day. Anyway, for any of you that care, the linky is below.
  20. I'm sure he did... and now that the Bills let him go, the Pats will scoop him up again soon and waterboard him to find out the Bills skinny..
  21. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Absolutely no where (except right here right now) have I read that Hamden is looking good. In fact, there have been several writings to the effect of how well Fitzpatrick has looked. So... dream on. If Hamden is #2, then God help the Bills. At least Fitz has considerable NFL game experience. Hamden couldn't even beat out a certain UFL QB to be #2. Furthermore, the Bills staff thought so much of Hamden that they went out and spent a couple million bucks on Fitz. Now, that was really stupid, don't you think? In reality... until he proves otherwise, Edwards (aka "check down Charlie") is really good #2. So far, he hasn't been able to make me forget Kemp, Ferguson, or Kelly.
  22. Dude... put down the koolaid and lay off he crack pipe.
  23. That's a good question. The last two preseasons, offenses routinely gouged the Bills with 11-18 play drives... yeah, consistently. That carried over into the regular season. The Bills defense has a threshold of about 63 plays... any more than that, bad things happen. So, if it happens on Sun. night.... you can count on it carrying over into the season. And, if that happens, you can count on another top 15 pick in the draft.
  24. Just for the record... the fresh paved roads had been in the works for the past three years and won't be completed til Nov. Then there is a phase two with the Super Walmart/Lowes swaperoo that will complete next year. So, The road construction had nothing to do with the Jets coming to town. Signs were done out of the county budget. I don't know who actull sunk the signs, but they sure ain't as robust as a normal DOT sign. In fact, a few of them have been stolen. They are basically a printed polyethylen sheet affixed and covering a a road sign. Suny Cortland has put up a lot of the coin because the Jets are paying them for the use of the facilities. County allocated $45K to fund different things including shuttle service. So, not much taxpayer money thrown at this. A lot of folks have also volunteered. Suprisingly, I haven't seen much of a difference in traffic. They have only been drawing about 200-600 a practice so far. In fact, they've cancelled the shuttle service because the on campus parking has been sufficient and there was no need to use the South Cortland parking lot even though the county has leased it for the time the Jets are here. There was an incident over the weekend in which a Bills fan, adorned in full Bills attire and a box of TO cereal, got in line to get autographs from a few of the players. The players wouldn't give him autographs, and one of the players point blank told him that it was disrespectful to the Jets players for him to show up in Bills attire. The newspaper had stated a few times that if you expect an autograph, the first thing is you better be wearing Jets attire.
