  1. Folks... Maybin, Wood, and Levitre were in the top 3 in their respective draft postion. Peters was a TE in college and transitioned to RT, then LT. Butler was an RT and transitioned to RG... and it is looking more like he may move to LT. Langston Walker came out as a T and played LG. RT, and LT... all of them fairly well. Jim Ritcher was drafted as a C and had a stellar career at G. James Harrison was a DE in college and made the transition to OLB in a 3-4 Nolan Cromwell was a QB in college and had a great careet in the NFL as a safety They are all pretty good football players. These guys will get it done... wherever it's decided they best fit.
  2. Really? Someone ought to mention that to the Patriots. They better come up with new receipe for success.
  3. Denney is the most versitile player on the D line....He is an every down player and he has moved inside many times. Judging from the FACTS (his numbers last season), he had a hell of a season for someone starting 11 only games. The fact that he's a good special teamer, solid citizen, and good team mate only adds to his value. He's un upgrade to Kelsay at LDE... but dropping him there you lose the versitility and ability to spell both ends with no drop off.
  4. That is a very good observation and distinct possibility.
  5. Hangartner is not a starter. He's only insurance. He may, or may not, be the opening day starter at C or G. If he is, it won't be long before he will be unseated by Levitre and/or Wood. The Bills just spent a #1 on a C and a #2 (that cost them a 3 & 4) on a G.... The middle of the Bills O line has just been addressed for the next 4-5 years... and Hangartner ain't on the "A" list.
  6. Dude... what exactly did you see from Ellis that made you pleased?
  7. Can anyone confirm, or perhaps this was speculation I heard?
  8. Skoobs... If I'd heard it from anyone else, I might buy it
  9. I'll reserve judgement on the new and improved... however, I can't remember too many big plays the Bills "top player" made.... he was virtually invisible. And, you wanna quadruple his salary for performance from an LT that is a little more than barely adequate? I can think of a dozen other LTs that are better and don't make his new $$. If I'm gonna fork over that kind of money for a player, he better be dominant, a playmaker, a difference maker. Peters is.... well, none of those things.
  10. 1st & 3rd? That's tradespeak. And, what that means is that they will settle for a 2nd & 4th. If they get more than a mid to late 1st rounder, I'll schitt my Russ Brandon autographed under shorts.
  11. what a waste of keystrokes and bandwidth
  12. My Personal favorite is Dujuan Blair. Now ther's a dude that's not 6'7" as listed but a shade over 6'5"... He ain't gonna play hoop at the next level because of his height and his game being all inside. So... he might want to talk to Wanstadt about some getting a look in spring practice. With 2 yr.s of eligibility remaining... he might have an interest.
  13. aw, c'mon. what about the Schobel bros.?
  14. The Doc here... just keepin it real and tellin it like it is. Tough schitt if ya can't handle reality. Russ is an outstanding marketing person. His record belies that. He's a GM wannabee... thus the title C.O.O.... which is just a consensus builder. It's his 2nd season on the job. Look back on Polian or Butler's 1st and 2nd years. They had a clear path they wanted to take and made purposeful and meaningful personnel moves to get them there. They built O and D lines right out of the gate. The O and dline talent they assembled in their first two years was the foundation of the run of the late 80's and through most of the 90's. Russ had an opportunity to his first statement... influence Ralph on the three year extentsion given to Jauron. Bottom line is either he encouraged him to extend DJ or he discouraged him. If it was the latter, it clearly demonstrates he doesn't have Ralph's ear... and that's what makes him a GM wannabe. Now, if he encouraged Ralph to extend DJ, then he's really clueless and never will be worth a schitt as a GM. DJ may have a passion for football, but on a scale of 1-10, his passion for winning is .05... and that ain't even legally intoxicated on winning. One last thing on Russ... back to benchmarking him with former GMs. Polian had fire, presence. Butler had presence, but not the fire Polian had. Russ' style is ???...no fire and no presence. As a GM role model, Teflon Tom was probably the one Russ spent most time around. How's that working out? Mediocrity breeds mediocrity.
  15. Tony Fiametta is the top rated FB. Why settle for chopped liver?
  16. Jauron's Style? Allow me to sum it up. Laid back, losing is acceptable, play not to lose the game (don't play to win), paralysis by analysis, and extremely predictable and boring. Basically, a career loser... as a player and a coach. Feel free to add your assessment.
  17. No... not at all. Do your research. Peters caught a TD on a tackle eligible play in the season opener in his rookie season. He also saw a lot of action on special teams too... blocking a punt against Cincy that went for a TD. Bell hardly saw the field. Peters saw t a lot as a rookie. So much for your fantasy. keep it real.
  18. The voice of reality here. If Bell were worth a schitt, he'd have seen significant playing time last year. It aint like any of the phat fux on the oline played well. Furthermore... ditto on Chambers... who supposedly is penciled in at LG. If he were any good, he would have supplanted Dockery during last season. It ain't like the Bills decided Dockery sucked in mid February. They knew he was toast and could have benched him in midseason if they had a better alternative. They didn't then, and they don't now.
  19. I know many of us have a "woody" (over nuthin). But, let's keep it real, 6-10, with a little luck.
  20. Fans with an IQ of less than 30 (which seems to be about 65% of them) seem to think it's been a great offseason. They drank the the fresh batch of koolaid Russ served up and rushed to get their season tix. TO is gonna lead them to the promised land. Guess they don't know the difference between street theater and what it takes to build a sound and winning football program.
  21. I know, I know.... I'm nit picking... but... Cuse is in CENTRAL NY...
  22. Thanks for the love. And who the f**k are you to tell me, or anyone to go cheer for some other team? It's not about being negative or positive. It's about, reality, shooting straight, being honest, and able to handle the truth. If you take a gander at the fan division on this board, I'll bet you'll find the line at those under 35 and those over 35. The older you are, the more realistic. And... you get into the over 40 crowd...They've been down the current Bills path ad nauseum and see it for what it really is. Obviously, you fit into that 12-35 crowd. You don't know the difference between building a winner and selling tix. They are two different things.
  23. Bingo! And ya know what? We still suck. Bringing in TO was just a ploy to bring in a fresh batch of koolaid drinkers... the 12-35 year old crowd. They think this is a clear signal that the Bills are about winning. Those over that age have already experienced years of taking it up the hershey highway and have had enough. They see they Bills for what they really are... about selling tix and making coin.
  24. I know I can't convince the koolaid drinkers, but this move was made to accomplish one thing.... bring the koolaid drinkers back. NOT to win games. As long as there are koolaid drinkers (AKA "suckers"), the Bills will sell tickets.
  25. Koolaid, koolaid.... ice cold koolaid... get ya koolaid
