Dude... Mirer, Leaf, Couch, Harrington, Carr, Akili Smith, J. Russell were all top 5 pix. Which one of those do you have a man crush on? Bradford ain't done schitt. His backup this past season performed as good, or better, than him. The last QB to come out of Oklahoma and play in the NFL was Jack Mildren...and he didn't even take one snap at QB... he was converted to a safety. Bradford is not a franchise QB.

It could be disatrous for everyone. The way I see it... this team has a olt of bad players... that's why they are a bad team. Gailey ain't gonna simply apply a little bit of bondo to this sorry ass Pinto and make it look like a Ferrari. Guys like "Maybe", "Hardly", "Twitner", "Pussluzney", "McCarg-NO" would need to earn their way onto the final 53 if I were king for a day.
-
With that logic, let's bring in Chad Pennington. If Chad is unwilling to come aboard, I say we give serious thought to Bradford in the 2nd. Maybe we'll get about as much from him as we got from Todd Collins. BRADFORD IS FOOLS GOLD!!!

Fine and Palmer picked up off waivers

What's the difference? It sucked to be them when they were with the Bills. Bad teams have bad players. -
Are we sure Bell can't be a good OLT?
Dr. Trooth replied to BobChalmers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The right question to ask is "Are we sure Bell can be a good OLT?" and how long before he's "GOOD". We need "GOOD" now. He's not that big for a LT and he's not that durable. He didn't win the job, he got thrown in there because Walker sucked and the Bills weren't about to pay him bonus money, let alone his salary. He's had his audition. Now he can audtion for a spot on the team. Let's not cut these marginal holdovers, from probably the worst Bills offense ever, any slack... we need football players. -
Drafting any QB in this draft is pointless. There really ain't anything there that's better than what the Bills already have.
-
Mitchell would pass the litmus test on the inside. The other two, no way. Poz and Ellison can be backup outside LBs in a 4-3 for a few teams. We need 3 more starters (Kelsay, Ellis, Maybin?). Schobel could, but I'd be shocked if he plays with the Bills next year. If I were the HC, I would not give Schobel any special priveleges... 1) some degree of respect is lost among some teamates, 2) You open that door and everyone else want to pass through, 3) can't be two standards... one for Schobel and one for the rest of the team. Still need at least two more LBs on the inside and two LBs on the outside.

Livin in the past, MAN...
Dr. Trooth replied to Buffalo Beeeews's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
YO... Dude. What else is there to talk about except for the great Bills teams of the mid sixties and early 90's? I can hear you now with your son or grandson on your lap someday and telling him about them 2009 Bills.... "Yep son, them Bills beat the Colts the year they lost to the Saints in the Superbowl." "We kicked their asses good, 30-7". "Them was the days son, when we had TO, Fitzy, Donte, & Marshawn". "If we'd a had a good coach, we'd have won the Superbowl that year." I'm sure your boy will run through the wall to get a Bills jersey as fast as he can. My best advice to you is... if you are waiting for a new winning legacy of Bills football, keep yourself on a steady diet of Snickers, cuz it's going to be a while. And, when I say a while, at the rate we're going and without devine intervention, think in terms of 6-8 years at a minimum. -
I think we need to think bigger than DiGiorgio. Let's stop talking about 3rd stringers. How about bonafide, starting, headhunting, foaming at the mouth LBs that destroy anything that moves.

I stand by my original statement. Bradford is the 2nd coming of Chris Chandler...AKA Chrystal Chandelier. Oft injured... you may get one or two good seasons out of him... and if you do, he probably breaks his throwing pinky two plays into his first playoff game. This draft will be known as one of the weakest QB drafts in history.

We should trade for QB Charlie Whitehurst

If I've said it once, I've said it a dozen times... this is exactly why cousins shouldn't marry. -
Jets want $200K from NY for their training camp expenses
Dr. Trooth replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the state doles out any coin to the Jets, they ought to tar, feather, and hang by their nuts whomever sponsors and/or authorizes such a travesty and misappropriation of tax payer money. -
Yeah... it's probably best to start out with your QB, assuming there's one there in the draft. But there is no franchise QB in this draft. Bradford is close. But, upon further review, he's the second coming of Chrystal Chandelier (Chris Chandler). Bradford isn't a cold weather blue collar type that is best suited for the Buffalo climate. He's best suited in warm weather or indoors. And let's be honest here... all three AFC east opponents have physical defenses... especially the Jets... Bradford wouldn't last two series against them unless he was handing the ball off. Trent Edwards showed a lot of ability. All of that ended on one play in a game in Arizona in 2008. Once Edwards got hit like that, it's all he thought about when he dropped back to pass. He didn't look downfield. He looked at the oncoming rush and dumped it off to the closest eligible receiver before he got hit. The moral of the story... go ahead and draft your dream QB. If you don't have the boys up front to keep him upright, you are going to lose him. No QB enjoys being hit... especially young QBs... and they know they have a bulseye on their jersey. Lastly... I don't give a damn who the Bills draft at #9... but I'll say this... that player better damn well start from day one this time and make a significant impact. The Bills brass had better get it right this time. No more Maybin's, Whitner's, etc. and mo more trading up to get crap like McGahee, Losman, & McCargo.
-
True... but that doesn't mean Lynch has to be the #2... I think there are RBs out there that will produce a lot more for a lot less $$$ than Lynch will. Lynch is a poriah and deserves a one way ticket out of WNY.

try to trade the colts for anthony gonzalez
Dr. Trooth replied to theman331's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hell no. This dude is a kitty. Can't stay healthy on an indoor team. Ya... bring him up north to Buffalo and I can see him getting smashed in a frigid December game and the grounds crew sweeping the pieces up off the turf. If I were Indy, hell yeah, I'd try to move him. He's been as productive for Indy as McCargo and Whitner have been for Buffalo. -
Because all of those dudes that are in the top five will be dropping out and be supplanted by better players once the combine reveals true wt., ht., speed, strength, quickness, dirty laundry, positive tests for illegal drugs or substances, arrest records, hand gun infractions, girl friend beatings, low wonderlic scores, etc.

right... Philly's gonna pay Vick a $5m roster bonus a month from now. With a superstar QB as their starter and a QB they drafted ready to assume the reins once McNabb departs. If you believe that, I've got a house at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington DC I'll sell you for real cheap. The only way Philly doesn't trade Vick is because there are no suitors... and then they'll end up outright releasing him.

Matthews (D&C) says Bills must take Claussen @ #9 if he's there. Says Claussen is brash has a big and accurate arm. Goes on to say that he's 16-18 as a starter @ ND.... but, he played behind a bad O line. He doesn't mention that he was mentored by Charlie Weiss. For Christ sake... Fitzpatrick as a starter with the Bengals and Bills is 8-10-1 and he played behind putrid offensive lines in both places... but Matthews doesn't mention that or cut Fitz any slack or mention the coaching and OC situation. If you wash Claussen's balls @16-18 with ND, how the f**k can you disparage Fitzpatrick @ 8-10-1 with the Bills & Bengals? Tell it like it really is. Both QBs suck. Neither is going to bring the Bills to be a playoff team.

Jauron... a college coach? Yup... I can see his recruitment ploy right now. "We really like the way you defend and we really think you can be a really great player for a really great university. We would really appreciate it you would visit, we think you will really like it. And, then would really like you to sign this letter of intent" Damn... I can't even see how a sub DIII athlete, that has no chance of playing college ball at any level, could get excited about playing after meeting with Jauron.

"Damning" ? That's it... that's what you gleaned? WTF?
-
Really? Just what is Paulus' upside? Another sell job and marketing project for Brandon? He was easily the most hyped, least productive QB in recent Cuse FB history. If you think Paulus can play in this league, then Troy Nunes would make the pro bowl as a rookie. His arm strength is not a question.... without a doubt, he has no arm strength. Not for the NFL, certainly not for Buffalo weather. Not a lot of demand for a 6 foot 175 lb. QB with no arm that played one season of college ball. PS.... Donavan McNabb is a better hoop player than Paulus was.

VERY glad we haven't heard about a DC hire yet
Dr. Trooth replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
it sure as hell better not be Pendergast... canned twice in 3 years... or Cunningham, both 4-3 boys. So far, this coaching staff, save for Catavalos, is a disaster waiting to happen. None of these guys have any substantive success stories that they can lay claim to. -
Don't know... but if the Bills sever stoppped sucking, I'd love to see what he'd have to write.
-
Dude... Whomever the Bills select.... repeat, WHOMEVER..... MUST MUST MUST play right away and make an impact. If it's Dan Williams, he had damn better make the Defense a whole lot better. If it's an LT, he better put his man pants on right away and make the O line a lot better than it was last year. The last several #1's have pretty much sucked. McKelvin looks like he could be a player. Marshawn is head case, McCargo, Whitner, Maybin, ... busts. Let's not forget Losman and Williams. The Bills can not afford another stupid pick. In fact, if this team is to move forward they've got to be 100% right on every pick cuz they're ain't any good free agents that the Bills will pay. They'll overpay a street free agent, but they won't pay market value for a star. Any questions?

Stroud goes 6'6" 310. Too tall to be a NT and too light. You really don't want a NT to be taller than 6'4" (preferably in the 6'1 - 6'3 range and 325 and up. They need to be able to get under people and take the center out on every play. Most NFL centers are in the 295-305 lb. range. A 325-350 lb. NT constantly hammering on them for 60 plays is going to take it's toll. The theory of the 3-4 is to have the 3 bigs up front occupy the OL so that on running plays they won't get to the second level and let the LBs make the plays. And if they do, the LBs in the 3-4 are usually 245 and up, are able to take on an OL much like a 4-3 DE does.
