Schouman is tendered at $1.68M and 2nd round compensation. WTF? What has he done to deserve that consideration? Obviously he's highly thought of to do that But, not only has he demonstrated that he's as brittle as ribbon candy...at least playing inside. At 6'2" and 223 lbs., no way he can physically survive at TE in this league. No freakin way. He's got to be the lightest TE in the league. Surely the Bills don't believe he's a TE, do they? Do they have plans to move him outside to WR, perhaps. Based on Nix and Gailey's comments on their size preferences at wr, Schouman would fit their model. If he has enough speed and quickness to move outside, he'd be a formidable blocking wr and maybe even a good possession type wr. What other explanation could there be than he's moving outside?

Really? Ever heard of Pat Williams?

So, basically you're revealing your first three picks in the fanatasy football draft. Good luck! I'd die to play that lineup every week in FFB.

What a bunch of cry babies. A dude posts something you don't agee with and you whine like reality show bitches. Get a life. The Bills finishing 1-15, although unlikely, it is within the realm of possibility. I don't see that it makes a hell of a difference whether a team finishes 1-15 vs. 5-11. They both suck horrendously. The only difference is the 1-15 team gets really high draft picks and a little more leverage. So, when you're very close to the edge of really sucking bad (5-11) you might as well finish 1-15 and put yourself in a position to grab a franchise player such as Bruce Smith and O.J. Simpson (hopefully not a Walter Patulski). When you look at the big picture though... there ain't gonna be football next year... and with a 1-15 finish, that puts the Bills in line for a top QB or LT. The beauty of that is that the #1 pick next year probably ain't likely to make a third of what this year's number one will make... because rookie salaries are at the epicenter of the NFL owners vs. the NFLPA. With the rookie salary scale invoked, now the Bills become might not be so reluctant to become a player in FA. So... see... there can be a silver (or bronze) lining to a 1-15 finish I don't expect a 1-15, but reality tells me 5-11. The whole defense is being re-tooled. That's gonna take some time. The offense, although virtually the same personnel is going to be totally different, which will also take time. So, I see the Bills stealing the opener from Miami, then an ugly win against Jax, a revenge ugly game win at KC for Gailey, an ugly win against Cleveland, and somewhere in the second half of the season the Bills suprisingly taking out a team that was looking past them. Basically folks... brace yourself for another long season... just keeping it b]REAL[/b]

God help us... that's a bad horse to ride. Don't buy the Bell BS.... 1) He sucked last year 2) He won't be physically ready to play till at least mid Oct. 3) He ain't that good.... period... and will be worse coming off the ACL. After they see what they've got during OTAs, the FO will realize they've got nothing at LT. By training camp you might see a McIntosh, Adams, Pace, Tra Thomas... or other signed until Wang is ready about mid season.
-
The personnel is the same... yes, we know. But... no-one knows wtf this offense will be like... except, we know it can't be worse than last year. Gailey is the most experienced and knowledgeable OC the Bills have had since Marchibroda (I don't count the one year of Henning... bad fit and no personnnel...Todd Collins-Lonnie Johnson). So Gailey alone is a quantum leap from the past two years with Shonert and VanPelt in control of the offense. Those two will never hold an NFL OC position ever again... and they should never hold any coaching position in the NFL for that matter. Both are "10's" on the incompetency scale. So, perhaps the biggest upgrade on offense is the coach. We may be pleasantly surprised...maybe not. We just don't know. We have to just ride it out and see what happens.

Chris Brown - Bills "Reporter"
Dr. Trooth replied to Estelle Getty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
C'mon... give Chris a break. he's not a reporter... he's a messenger... He's sort of a scaled down version of Scott Berchtold. Buffalobills.com is propaganda. It's all peaches and cream there. So, don't go looking for "dirt" or the real deal there. -
I don't give two schittz either way. he could retire for all I care. Bottom line, Bills don't have to do schitt, he's under contract. If he don't play the bills don't pay. And, if he wants to play somewhere else, let him and his agent shop for a deal.
-
dude... 1) if the bills dispatch Schobel, the logic behind that is going to be to dump his salary. Cuz... he ain't playing up to his 5 or 6m contract. So, they ain't gonna drop his salary and take on another like it unless they get a superstar. 2) Why do you think Brown is on the block? Because, he's damaged goods coming off a serious knee injury. So, the Saints don't want to play his salary either. He's not the same Jamaal Brown of 2-3 years ago. He is a huge gamble... why not wait til the Saints release him, and then scope him out and sign him to an incentive layden contract? Schobel may end up with the Saints. He can start and he can add depth.... but do the Saints really want to pay his salary? If Schobel is traded, it will be for a draft choice. I think the Bills would like to see Schobel lined up at LB in the OTAs before the reach a final conclusion as to what they do with him. And, let's not forget, the Bills don't have to do a damn thing... the ball is in Schobel's court. He's the one under contract. If he doesn't come to work, he doesn't get paid.
-
Why the love for him? Where's Lynch's love for his employer? You think he gives a schitt about making himself a better FB player or the Bills a better team? Where is he? Certainly not at OTAs. Why keep him if he doesn't want to be here? Let's not forget, from his employer's perspective, he's one incident from a one year suspension. How bout Lynch earn is way on to this team... he sure has earned his way off it.
-
Ah yes, the Jets version of Aaron Maybin. Let's not mention the first round gaffes of the Bills over the past several seasons... a virtual bust factory, and aside from Maybin a list that includes Mike Williams, JP Losman, John McCargo, Donte Whitner, Marshawn Lynch. And, to add insult, the Bills could have drafted Mangold instead of McCargo. If your backyard ain't clean, don't poke fun at the yard down the street.

Bob Mathews D&C Column today
Dr. Trooth replied to BillsfaninSixburgh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
5-11 is a reasonable expectation. Bills will be a better team this year than last, though it probably won't be reflected in their record. -
Do the right thing, take Bruce campbell here.
Dr. Trooth replied to Thurman8125's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
there's a reason 32 teams passed on him. 100 selections and he's still there. Think Mike Williams... doesn't have the will or comittment to play this game. -
Kiper 2nd round mock. Charles Brown, OT, USC.......
Dr. Trooth replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Please...let's get real. Bills are not going to trade for Roethlisberger. 1) he's a sociopath 2) he's suspended for more than 1/3 of a season and one titty grope from a year suspension 3) he carries a $100 million contract in addition to the risks mentioned above NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Don't know why you'd even think that was my thinking. So, you've got a man crush on Claussen. That clouds your perspective. Some QBs project high and go high, some don't. I've seen enough of Claussen to know that he doesn't have "it". He's another California pretty boy and gifted athlete that ends up at to Notre Dame and is worshipped, bowed to, and cottled. Ain't a QB worth a schitt that's come out of that program since the late 70's (including Buerlein) and Claussen won't be an exception.

I knew it had to be Spiller @ 9 or the Bills trade down. So I guessed right on this. The fact that the Bills wasted no time turning in the pick indicates he was their guy no matter what. At 9, you must make an impact... Spiller is the Bills first top 10 pick in years that will make an impact. Those that think he's only a third down back are ridiculous. You don't pay top ten coin for a situational player. He was an every down back at Clemson and he will be an every down back in the NFL. he'll pack an extra 5-7 lbs. on his frame. Think LT, CJ. He won't unseat Fred this year, but it is great for a rook like Spiller to have a mentor and role model like Fred. Now the Bills have Whitner, Lynch, Ellison, Schobel as bargaining chips. I wouldn't care if they lumped them all together for a two. Lastly... I stated Claussen was a POS a long time ago. That is now officially recognized now throughout the FB world.

Is CJ Spiller sending a coded message to the Bills?
Dr. Trooth replied to Bad Lieutenant's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WTF??? CODED MESSAGE? TO THE BILLS? No... nothing coded here. It's very clear, and he's sending that message to 32 NFL teams. -
The Doc is in the house... weighing in
Dr. Trooth replied to Dr. Trooth's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dude... Cornell Green is 120 (actually 34 before the season kicks off). He's here for one season, if that. The next starting RT will come out of this draft. I'll trust Gailey over you on Edwards. If Gailey wants him to throw the ball downfield and he doesn't, he'll kick him to the curb. So be it. Your boy Claussen ain't the answer. He'd just be the 4th QB from California to be a bust in Buffalo in the past 10 years. We need a man at QB... and Bradford ain't it either. Bills will suck enough this year to get a shot at a top 5er' next year and take their QB then. -
It's a no brainer that the Bills need a couple of bookend tackles, a nose, a 3-4 DE, an OLB, and a QB. But... the Bills need a player to make an immediate impact now and for the next several years. I don't see any tackle or def. player (or QB) that will fall to #9 that will do that. That's why I'm guessin it's Spiller at #9. The bargaining chips the Bills have are Lynch, Whitner, Schobel, and possibly Edwards. Bills really need to move Lynch, Whitner and Schobel for sure... none of them figure into the Bills future plans. With the extendo draft time, the chances of dealing one or more of these guys is a distinct possibility. If the Bills don't select Spiller a #9, I've got a gut feelin they trade down 10-15 spots and pick up an extra #2.... that's where I think they pull the string for sure on a LT and either a RT or NT. Unless they give up Whitner and Lynch, I don't see them looking at QB til at least round 3, and maybe not even then. Edwards might be salvageable. I only say so because there was a night and day difference in his performance after he was creamed unabatedly by Adrian Young. He's not been close to the same. Gailey's offensive knowledge is 35,000 feet above whatever Fairchild, Schonert, and VanPelt could design and implement... so maybe Gailey's offensive wisdom and perhaps a move to more of a spread formation might be better suited to Edwards... maybe not. If not, there's still Fitz, Brohm and maybe Hasselbeck, Bulger, Campbell.... and even Roethlisberger (?????), or someone to guide the ship for a year. The way I see it, the Bills could easily finish 4-12 without solid QB play and position themselves to land a QB in the top five next year.

If New England offered a 2nd for Lynch?
Dr. Trooth replied to clearwater cadet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
sure would... payback for Bledsoe. Too bad the Pats brass ain't that stupid. -
Don't know what you're smokin... I'm guessin ragweed. Ever hear of Joe DeLamielleure, Reg McKenzie, Stew Barber, Billy Shaw, Will Wolford, Jim Ritcher, Kent Hull, House Ballard, Reuben Brown? Pick the worst one of that bunch and Peters ain't fit to carry their duffle bag. He'll never achieve what any of those guys achieved. The only mistake the Bills made in dumping Peters was not having a competent plan B. Any team willing to pay Peters the money he's making is dumb. Certainly not getting close to their money's worth. Only question left is when, during this season, will Peters gives up a sack that gets Kolb hurt.

Or what? Splain us. And, oh, by the way, there might not even be a next year.

i agree the nfl should do similar to the nba with the rookie salaries. but.. not the rest... the lottery was invoked to prevent teams from tanking it to get the top pick. with only 16 game season... almost every team is in it with 5 games to go. in the nba, your done by march if you aint runnin 8-9 in the division. protecting your own is done in the nba cuz there aint revenue sharing. having to pay extra like that in the nfl would kill the small market teams. the nba also allows teams to go over the cap. they have to pay a luxury tax when they do that. dallas and wash could do that regularly without a problem. that would drive salaries higher and keep stars out of small markets. also... the nba is a whole different ballgame for trades... you must match salary slots and a lot of times it requires 3 and 4 teams to consumate a trade if the nfl forgoes revenue sharing, to make it fair in the nfl, they almost have adopt salary ranges for players so that the dallas' and wash's can't have a leg up
