  1. If Ralph is serious about fielding a winning team, it's either Marty or Cowher. It's that simple. Billick, Fassel, Martz & Haslett are duds. The thought of bringing in a rookie HC (ie. Frazier, Grimm, Mini Shotty, or any other dude with no professional HC experience) that doesn't have a clue as to how to build a team will be a disaster... as in another lost decade. If the Bills were in situation where they were turning over a 10-6 or 11-5 team, with established core players that were not aging, you can take a shot at a good coordinator. But, the Bills aren't close to that. I believe the blueprint for a HC is one that understands Buffalo... Blue collar, cold-windy climate October forward. You can't win with a defense that depends on small players and speed. Once the weather elements kick in, the small speedy defense will be neutralized. Marty has used the 4-3 and the 3-4, and Cowher the 3-4. Both had dynamic running games and pass rushers wherever they coached. Cowher had Foster, the Bus as powerful runners, and Lloyd & Porter as rushers. Marty had Byner, the Nigerian Nightmare, & Tomlinson... Smith, Thomas, Merriman. Marty or Cowher will immeidately be able to look at this roster and know who is salvageable and who is not. I want Cowher. But, it looks like Ralph aint on the same page. If Ralph won't bring in Cowher, the only other qualified candidate is Marty. The consolation prize in getting Marty is that, supposedly, Nix and he are practically joined at the hip. That could be a benefit, but it also could be a detriment... If they're both right... yeah! If they're both wrong... Boo! So, Ralph... put up or shut up, cuz us fans aren't gonna shut up. We're gonna continue to be on your a$$ til this disaster of a team is fixed. So far, we're not impressed with Nix. You think we were pissed when you made that move? You ain't seen nothing yet... go ahead and bring in another worthless rookie HC that has to learn on the job and it will be the straw that breaks the camel's back. At age 91 you don't have a lot of time to leave a legacy that will be on the "plus" side of the ledger. I hope you do the right thing for the fans and Buffalo, and in the end go out in a blaze of glory rather than continue down the same road we have for the past 10 seasons.
  2. No way, no how, will Tebow be a competent starter in the NFL. Repeat, no way. Ain't happening. If some team blows a first rounder on him they are totally whacked.
  3. It's because teams didn't need to bother passing against the Bills. Teams ran the ball on them at will.
  4. REALITY CHECK FOLKS!!! Bad idea to bring in Frazier. He might be an appropriate choice for a team that is established, as was were the Steelers when they brought in Tomlin. The Steelers already had damn good core vets like Harrison, Roethlisberger, Ward Hampton, Polomalu, etc. The Bills do not. Also, the Tampa 2 will not work in Buffalo, unless they cap the Ralph. Nix said as much in his interview with Chris Brown when he indicated the Colts were built for indoors with a small defense that's based on speed. He said that's why the Chargers had know problem matching up with them. So, he wants a bigger D and a QB that has the arm to cut through the wind and the sometimes harsh Buffalo weather. The Bills new HC has to rebuild this team... and right off the bat, they have no one that's even adequate at QB. Frazier would come in himself learning on the job. Frazier knows zip about offense, developing a QB, or putting a playoff team together. he inherited a defense with The Williams boys, good DEs, Henderson, Greenway at LBs, Winfield at CB... he's riding the wave. I would be a HC candidate with that defense. If Frazier is HC... more of the same koolaid the FO has been pushing for the past decade. Hopefully Frazier is just a diversion for the media while the Bills continue their pursuit of Cowher
  5. Dude... It's an election year for him and the Dems have thrown him under the bus. He's running for re-election which has totally pissed off the DNC because now they can't put up their chosen one, Andrew Cuomo, for office... also known as more of the same liberla tax and spend hooey. So... the things he said he wants, if his own party doesn't get behind him on, they are going down big time in November. NY taxpayers have had enough... and the most wealthy are packing up and leaving (see Bob Golisano). He's doing away with the empire zone bull **** in lieu of the excelsior program which targets big business... like Intel, Toyota, etc. He also wants national chains and franchises to be headquartered upstate. yeah... he's serious... but he can't do **** without the legislature behind him... which is basically all Dems. we'll see.
  6. Gov. Paterson mentioned a few things in his address the other day that sounded exciting. The challenge is, how does he pull it off with the most corrupt, lazy, do nothing legislature on the planet? Notebale, among other things, he stated... * upstate has been ignored way too long and must be the epicenter for NY revitalization * going to revitalize and expand the Erie Canal corridor * focus on three upstate cities to bring back manf. and high tech jobs... Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse. * Buffalo is the first and primary focus as there is an inventory of 23,000 homes that would be attractive and could house the influx of people with the tech and manufacturing jobs. One bit of activity that will take place soon is the remake of the Thruway between the toll booths at the east and southern ends of Buffalo. I believe that is starting up this spring, as I am close to the person who is with the company that floated the bond for that projecxt as well as the recent reconstruction of the Thruway east bound from Weedsport to Baldwinsville. Obviously... as far as the fiscal matters, Patterson has had the biggest set of balls I've seen form a NYS governor in years... especially for a democrat. He hammered specifically on the union folk... although he used the term special interest and powerful lobby that only serve there own interest at the expense of the rest of the NewYorkers. I was also shocked that a Dem would call for term limits, new ethics charter that makes it mandatory for any poltician to dsiclose what businesses they are affiliated or envoled in, and an ethics board... that's right, an ethics board to police the criminals we elected. Although his poll numbers for re-election were bad a few months ago, he's had a resurgence. If nothing else, he's put the legislature on notice and setting them up for a blood bath at the polls this fall. The voters clearly favor Paterson over the legislature and are with him on the changes he's called for. The funny thing is, that it's his own party that's opposing him. If the legislature still doesn't get it now, we'll remind them in November. There's going to be some serious carnage, and the Dems could take a thrashing this fall. Lets hope ther's a huge shake up in Albany... it can't make the Bills situation any worse... only better.
  7. Yeah... but did you notice the dog's sweater had a Bills logo on it.
  8. La Confora. And... he doesn't know what he doesn't know.
  9. Relieved to know that you have been following Cowher and have a handle on what he's doing. WTF? Billick is a commetator on NFL TV Cowher is a commetator on CBS TV Dude... they both break down film during the week. That's what they bring to the table. Both networks just don't rely on either to make just off the cuff remarks about football. The only difference is, CBS carries a 1 hour pregame show on Sunday. NFL TV is on 24 7 re hashing the same old BS. So Cowher gets his splash in the one hour time frame and Billick rambles all week. Billick was propped up by an excellent GM... Ozzie Newsome. The defense that Ozzie put together (not Billick) was probably in the top two ever. Billick rode that wave. Billick's offenses sucked. He never could figure out either a QB or offense other than Jamal Lewis while having one of the best LTs in the game. Cowher was good regardless of Donahoe and Modrak. Billick got canned. Cowher walked away. Billick's been out there for two years, itching for a HC job. No one has come knocking. Cowher's been out there for 3 years and has had constant cajoling to come back as a HC. Hands down... Cowher's the better deal by far... Billick ain't on his level.
  10. With that performance against the Jets, I'd change my name too... in hopes that no one would recognize me. I think an appropriate name change for a Sally like him, who surrendered like the French, would be "Charles Quatre-Vingt Cinq"
  11. Fred Jackson... in 40 games (15 carreer starts) over three seasons amassed 1933 rushing and 878 receiving. Phenomenol to say the least. The one thing that stands out is that he's played in 40 straight games. Withstanding the coaching and OL woes of this season alone is a considerable achievement... especially without injury. That's a hell of a lot more than can be said for Sally Lynch. Consider over that time that he's also contributed punt and kick returns as well. As dismal as the Bills offense was this year, without him, they would have undoubtedly have been the worst offense in NFL history. At 28, he's probably got only 2 or three seasons left to contribute at the top level. It sure would be good to see what he would do behind an established OL and with a real QB. With his receiving ability, he could be Thurmanesque. When it came time to stand up and be counted, Fred stood tall.... Marshawn didn't even lean forward in his chair. Nuff said.
  12. Great. A drunk suing another drunk. Sign em up for Judge Judy. That episode ought to have great entertainment value.
  13. I've got a feeling there will be a lot of junior eligibles going into the draft due to the uncertainty of the CBA past this draft. Among other things, owners are pushing to reduce rookie salaries... in particular, the 1st rounders. If a wave of juniors throw their hat in the ring, it should make for an extremely deep draft. So, seeing how the Bills have clearly demonstrated they can't make a good 1st round pick to save their arses, how bout we just trade that 9th pick (which they'll likely fugg up again) for a pair of mid second rounders, cash, a player to be named later, and a toasted cheese sandwich? Oh... perhaps we could package Whitner, Lynch, McCargo, Maybin, Parish, and Edwards for a extra 5th round pick. Nah... too many draft picks... Brandon and Overdorf couldn't possibly get them all signed before the end of training camp.
  14. Let's keep it real. Cameron ain't a good choice for HC. However, be objective and accurate,Cameron did not have an established QB (Lemon) like Sparano did (Pennington). They also switched to a 3-4 defense (more suited to Joey Porter). They also came up with a gimmick (wild cat) that will be figured out in the next year or so and defenses will defend. Lastly... Cowher did not interview with the Bills last week. The official account of it is there was a meet and greet phone conversation for less than a half hour... as reported by Vic Carrucci. Sit tight, within 10 days it will all be sorted out. No use in bitchin until then. We know what the Bills need and the FO knows the fans are pissed. They beterr make it good after Buddy Nix.
  15. Well, we all know it can't be Checkdown. Fitz, or Chroise then, cuz we know they ain't got arms. So, he must think it's Brohm. Keep looking Buddy.
  16. From the article Seems like typical Ralph to me, but Florio makes a good point.
  17. If you want to buy in, go for it. I ain't buying in to the same ole BS. At this point, Buddy is saying all the right things. The problem is, everyone's been measuring there remarks in this organization for many years and saying the right things... thus the steady tix sales. When are they going to start "DOING" the right things? When I see that, I just might be inclined to order up a tall glass of that koolaid. I'm gonna drive 3 hours one way and freeze my ass off Sunday, and it's my last game til I see real progress.
  18. Me thinks Kehly and Harbough ought to meet at the Big Tree and duke it out. Winner is HC.
  19. Dude... get used to it. ESPN is right. It's reality. The Bills don't pursue "A listers". Saban and Levy were on nobody's A list. The one and only "A list" coach the Bills had was Chuck Knox, and he walked because he knew Ralph was jerk. Wilson wants a coach that reveres him. One that will kiss his ring, feet, and ass. There's plenty of those types around. So, why should he bring in an "A lister" that's more inclined to share reality with him than be in awe of him?
  20. True. BUT..... Fox is a "lame duck". He's locked in for next season and Richardson would prefer he leave, but won't fire him or let him walk to another team without compensation... fat chance of the Bills signing on for that. The only chance Fox has at this point is a buyout, which is possible. The reality of a coach having a one year contract with no liklihood that he's going to be extended is... 1) his assitants know it and they will look out for themselves and start looking for their next gig. 2) if most of his assitants bolt for greener pasteurs, Fox is stuck with trying to bring on a staff that knows their job is only good for next season. How many ACs want to put themselves in that situation? Not many... maybe an up and comer wannabe, or someone that's been out a while and wants back maybe. So, Fox is in a sticky situation. Personally, if it were me and I knew there was a good chance of being hired as a HC somewhere else, I'd talk to Richardson and tell him to let me out of the contract so that I can pursue other interests. If he doesn't like that option, then I'd let him know the reality about the assitant coaches... and the results of that is probably going to be an awful season and Richardson's going to have a hard time putting people in the seats.
  21. Yep. The "Buddy" system is not only alive and well @ OBD, it is "en vogue". I'm surprised Ralph didn't give consideration to good ole Chuck for GM.
  22. Dude... I believe Nix stated he wanted an experienced NFL HC with a winning track record... one that also knows how to assemble a coaching staff. That being the case, let's re think your list 1) Bill Cowher (probably less than 50% chance of getting him). 2) Jim Harbaugh 3) Russ Grimm 4) Mike Heimerdinger 5) Ron Rivera 6) Dom Capers 7) Leslie Frazier 8) Mike Zimmer 9) Jim Fassel 10) John Fox (if he is fired/resigns)
  23. Not really... just make the DL LBs, the LBs DBs and bring in a new DL. problem solved just as easy as it was to move Nix to GM. Who would have ever thought?
  24. What's wrong with this picture? Why wouldPhily trade their QB of the future? McNabb's contract will expire in a year or two, and at 35, Philly aint gonna give him a raise. So, if Philly doesn't give McNabb a raise and lets him walk, who is going to be their QB? Do you think Andy Reid is totally stupid?
