People are soon to forget what happened with Sammy Watkins. We only moved up only 5 spots and gave up the following year’s 1st and a 4th. And he was basically a bust. Everyone panned Whaley for this move. Now, fast forward to 2024 and we are talking about trading an even higher number of picks for an unproven player. We can’t afford to experiment. Go after a proven player.

I’m not in favor of using that much draft capital to move up to 6. What if he’s a bust and we blew this year’s 1st, next years 1st, and probably a 2nd rounder? Would rather use the 1st we have or the 2025 2nd to acquire Aiyuk. He’ll be expensive, but look at it as bust insurance paid. The draft is deep at WR. Move up in the 2nd if needed. Would be a lot cheaper.

The difference between us beating the Chiefs last season vs what actually happened could solely be explained by the absence of Milano. He plays in that game and we win.

Too high, but ultimately it’s realistic. Last year he switched agents to the people who got Watson his 100% guaranteed contract. The thing with QB contracts is that they are more so based on the position, rather than the players’ abilities, and also based on how much the last QB signed for. Miami should understand that if they don’t make him the highest paid QB, another team undoubtedly will. We all know how hard it is to land a franchise QB.
