Our run game has been ***** for years. No consistency and Allen running has been the only real consistent bright spot, which isn't enough. I still think OL is the biggest problem. Is it blocking schemes or just lack of top OL talent. RB's have also been underwhleming but I can't tell if its lack of vision... but the OL definitely is not making consistent holes

it does not change the dissapointmet I have in this team for losing to the Jets. To be honest I fully expected to dominate them and the fact they looked like crap just fuels my anger. and nobody is going to make me feel better about that. There is time to fix it, but injuries might derail the whole thing. I expected not to lose to Miami and the NY Jets regardless and here we are. Yeah I'm going to keep watching, and yes I hope for improvement but everytime I see the kind effort/game we just saw I'm going to be livid. Piss poor run D, no QB pressure from our DL, a group of WR's who dissapeared, never any consistent running attack, questionable coaching schemes. Josh not playing well is a big part of it, but the team/coaching around him needs to be able to bail him out of those games, as well as Josh needs to realize he can't stare down the primary WR and needs to able ot take the safe stuff. Right now we are against the ropes for home playoff advantage and that should not and can not be the case. We lose 1 more we are not in the drivers seat. We cannot afford to lose another game IMO. That has me worried because we look very pedestrian recently

ACL injury.. it takes time, and rushing it is not the answer... Also its the teams doctors and the HC thats making the call on when he is ready to play.

What does Tre have to do with the loss yesterday. He's coming off an ACL injury... Why would you put him on IR for the rest of the season when he is getting closer to being ready?

To be honest, if the team that has been playing the last 2 weeks doesn't improve not having home field advantage in January will be the least of our worries. The bottom line is Miami and the NY Jets beat us and looked good doing it. If we lose 1 or 2 more this year we could be looking at a wildcard at best. The team is out of sorts right now and they have to get serious again......

Reich is a class act, he won't be without a job for long..... I'm thinking he will be a top HC candidate for next season

Who has been the biggest disappointment?

Davis and McKenzie are definitely underwhelming this year. I'm done with McKenzie, he is a gadget player on his best days and that is pretty much it. But to be honest the New kids have flahed very little as well Shakir and Cook. No consistent contributions from either. and we've already lost Crowder who wasn't doing much before the injury... Now Josh hasn't been accurate or in the zone for the last 2 games so that plays into it a little, but when Josh is having off days others have to rise up, that has not been happening the last 2 weeks. -
He definetly seems off the last 2 games. I think the "concussion" theory is very unture. I think its the price of fame. He has numerous commercials now, he is a top interview, where ever he goes he's recognized ... you know his phone is ringing off the hook from Agents etc.. He may need to step back and get back to focusing on football only for the rest of the season.

Offense "One Dimensional" - Daboll's Departure Fallout?
ddaryl replied to jethro_tull's topic in The Stadium Wall
We continually fail to draft or find solid OL to fill out the trenches. We do not seem to be able to develop a consistent run game and that is a continued issue with the OL and the lack of better RBs. This has been and contiues to be Beane's weakness. The inability to find real difference makers at these positions (OL and RB). Singletary is serviceable and average on his best days, everyone else on the roster in a JAG at the RB position. Cook has shown nothing, Hines, I do not expect to be able to run consistently. If Hines can get involved in the passing game and become a major reliable outlet that would be the best outcome for the 2nd half of the season. -
I think Josh's focus is off. He famous, he's doing commercials and interviews, his phone his ringing off the hook. Enough to divert focus from the little things Josh needs to quiet the life outside of football and get back to purely focusing on football IMO

Lots of special teams work KR and PR I'm guessing he'll be limited with the offense but I could see him having his number called a few times 5 PR 1 for a TD, 92 yds NO KR all touchbacks 1 catch for 6 yds 2 Runs for 3 yds -

I can't tell you how much I appreciate our GM... Its that stategic use of salty language during internet interviews that really makes him special -
Yes this is true, big money is involved so there will always be someone willing to play, but the talent pool will diminish over the years as more kids play less dangerous sports. Now we might not notice the talent drain because it will be spread out evenly across the league but you will continue to see increases in Soccer participation IMO and less and less kids playing football... Out here in Washington there is already a huge following for Soccer Here's is info I found, this will translate into more and more young children growing up in Soccer households and more and more kids preferring Soccer. Its also cheap to play, and cheap to go watch a game, so families are more capable of attending. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_League_Soccer_attendance

I agree..Hockey in the Arean is better than Football at the stadium IMO. The tailgating and gameday festivities of football are superior but the actually watching the game live Hockey is better. Football I prefer to watch on TV I can see more, where at the stadium I can't make out much of details, and with DVR I can analyze a foot ball play>>>Watching hockey on TV is tougher because you have forced focus of camera angles. At the Arena you can see a play develop which is usually outside the cameras focus.

My point is I checked in on this thread and I keep seeing references to Dean Marlowe allowing a Hail Mary If it was just a passing mention I would of ignored it, but since it keeps showing up I just assumed you are not happy with Dean Marlowe being a Bill Good players have bad days, and bad players have good days... So I'm not sure of the point of your post in general Does acquiring Dean help us or hurt us given the fact we are down 1 safety with another battling Elbow issues
-
Another Fact is Hyde Poyer and White teamed up and let a Hail Murray win a game. Not sure what your angle is regarding Marlowe and the fact he was part of team that got burned on a Hail Mary.

Agree I don't think it is written in stone that Hines will be with the team in 2023. He is an improvement over Moss but that does not mean he is guarenteed a roster spot next year.
