TJax will stay #3 wtf Bills?
Dirtbag replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WTF indeed! -
i thought the defining moment was when we beat them last year. that was wrong. i'll hold out for a winning record before i start discussing a changing of the guard.

l.a. wants two teams. i think one will be the chargers just because their current stadium is garbage. if ralph can stay alive for just a few more years -- long enough for the city to grab two other teams -- then toronto is our only competion. if he dies while l.a. is still seeking a team, then we're in trouble.

BILLS AND PATRIOTS PREDICTION VIDEO
Dirtbag replied to Frostbelt City's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
have you ever heard of this indie rock band called hootie and his blowfish? that guy would be perfect for this sort of thing. some of it might be a little too raw for this crowd, though. -
Why Your Team Sucks 2012: Buffalo Bills
Dirtbag replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
just read an article about the great lakes accent, here: http://www.slate.com/articles/life/the_good_word/2012/08/northern_cities_vowel_shift_how_americans_in_the_great_lakes_region_are_revolutionizing_english_.html?fb_ref=sm_fb_plugin_activity -
i don't. i'd much rather have him full time at the buffalo news and covering the bills exclusively.

Ahh, the sweet smell of vindication...

i'm no kelsay hater, though his contract leaves a mild distaste in my mouth. that said, i'm not the one paying him. still, this is a dumb article. i still don't get what this part means: "So what if a two-down player who only gets the occasional sack isn’t worth the $5.75 million cap hit Kelsay counts for this season. But would you say he’s worth the $3.5 million in actual salary he’s being paid? Mario might have four times as many sacks, but he won’t have four times the overall impact." huh? and then there's this: "And if it had even a nominal effect on the apparent culture change surrounding these Bills, it was worth every penny." kelsay's been on the team since 2003 and now we should give him credit for the culture change of the past two years? kelsay is a decent player who needs better players around him. nothing wrong with that. -
i'm sick of people saying professional football players aren't intelligent. how did they get into college if they're so dumb?

i was really concerned drew's deal would only be for 20-25 this year and 80 million overall. phew! this poor bastard has suffered so much, being pushed out of san diego and all. has anyone suffered more? i'm just happy that this money will provide him the resources he needs to buy enough hats to keep that ever-encroaching bald spot safely hidden for years.

Bills seeing a lot of air time

where's the segment on coach chan's '87 yugo? -
i've always believed that money would be the deciding factor as to whether the bills stay or go. now that i see it's just a matter of adding a few shoulder patches and helmet decals, i'm much more optimistic. patch away, ralphie!

Unusually negative Tim Graham on PFT
Dirtbag replied to ndirish1978's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i was surprised that graham suggested the team could win 7 games and still be thrilled by their progress. the notion that they might not surpass the jauron threshold makes me physically ill. -
Unusually negative Tim Graham on PFT

giving an honest assessment of the bills and identifying possible areas of concern now constitutes being unusually negative? i think you all might be unusually sensitive to any criticism of your favorite team, no matter how innocuous. -
regardless of how much we (as fans) have invested into this team, we actually know very little about what will happen to them post-ralph. this is the sad and frustrating point. i'm not sure about you, but i define myself (among other things) as a bills fans. this often makes people laugh. i live in l.a., and they get a real kick out of asking me when the bills are moving here. we don't own the bills, and the current owner apparently doesn't really feel like he owes us much -- even if this team has had a devoted following since the sixties. previously, he has said they're going to the highest bidder after he dies. he owns them; that's his prerogative. the dodgers went for 2 billion this year. an nfl team seems just as, if not more, valuable. if ralph's previous comments are accurate and he's planning on selling to the highest bidder, it will likely be difficult to keep them in buffalo. there might be a white knight out there ready to defend a small market nfl team, but i'm not so sure. that said, it has been suggested that there's some master plan to keep them in buffalo maybe it happens, maybe not. one thing that i'm sure of is that laconfora has no idea as to how this will play out. the value of this team can only be calculated when they actually go on sale. if ralph sells and there's no team in l.a., there will likely be a massive bidding war. if ralph sells after a l.a. team has already been established, then maybe not. regardless, unless some other arrangements are being worked out, i suspect a strong push from toronto. we're the biggest fans of this team and we have no idea what's going on. you honestly think laconfora does?

i don't know who brock is or where he came from. i don't know brock's first name. i don't know how long he's been on the bills. in fact, i didn't even know he was on the team up until about 5 minutes ago. that said, chan would be a fool not to design every single play around brock. he's a game changer. extrapolate his 100% completion rate across 16 games and you get a...100% completion rate. boo-yah!

the dialogue was deep and penetrating, but in the hands of these amateurs it came out limp and flaccid.
