While you can see the full condiment experience at Bills home games, it's easier to hang out with him at road games because there is a much smaller crowd. He's come to the bar in Baltimore with us at the R Rich pregame tailgate & I've been to his tailgate party in NE, although I stopped going to NE games about 10 years ago. I had to decline the bowling ball shots in NE because I never drink at games (or anywhere else) that I drive to. -
Trade up or trade back in this year’s draft?
Albany,n.y. replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Zay Jones was before Beane arrived. He was drafted the year McDermott was running the draft using the scouting reports from Whaley's team while Whaley was banned from speaking in public. On the other side, Dawkins was also traded up for in the same draft & is our franchise LT. Cody Ford's grade is incomplete. He was out of position at RT as a rookie & got hurt in his 2nd season. We'll know a lot more about Ford during the 2021 season. -

When you trade up, you have to do it with some degree of sanity. I trust the Bills management not to do something as crazy/stupid as trading up for a player when they can get a comparable or better player in their original draft slot. Beane & his scouts do a lot of work on their high picks. I don't believe Beane would have ever made that trade, nor would he have traded back into the 1st round for JP Losman, John McCargo, etc. You have to have competent management whether you're trading up or down. The Bills didn't have that for almost the entire time of the drought. Donahoe looked good on paper when he was hired, but was very mediocre. The Levy, Brandon, Nix & Whaley terms were draft disasters. -
Trade up or trade back in this year’s draft?

Always trade up, never trade down. If you trade up it's for a player you want. If you trade down you have no idea what you're getting. Our last 2 1st round QBs: Josh Allen traded up for. EJ Manuel traded down for. I rest my case. 🤩 -
It would have been 21,146 since I drove a Jets fan to the game. It was so cold I stopped off on the way to the stadium and bought a ski mask. We bought prime club level seats for around $20 each from a scalper outside the stadium. After the game we were leaving & I still had my ski mask on & an XXL Bills tee shirt I wore over my coat. We saw Ralph Wilson in the concourse & I yelled "All the way to the Super Bowl, Ralph." He looked at me like I was some kind of nut.

The last NBA game I attended was in November 2019 before Covid. My nephew has season tickets to the Warriors & I was out there for Thanksgiving. In SF the season ticket holders have their own team representative. When there are empty seats in the front they will upgrade the season ticket holders so that there aren't empty seats on the TV broadcast. That night they were playing the Chicago Bulls, not a very big draw. My nephew told his representative that he was with his uncle from NY & asked for an upgrade. We ended up in one of the owners' seats in the front row. The other owner sat next to my nephew & they were talking throughout the game. Now the seats we were in are not affordable without the upgrade. I think the asking price is 5 grand per game. That's another problem with the NBA, it's too expensive. Back in the days I was going to Braves games I would buy tickets for a few $ and then move into the golds at the Aud. A lot of times there were promotions like Bells, Arco, Loblaws nights, etc. When I was 18 I looked about 14 or 15 so I would go into the promotion place like Bells & tell them I was 14 & would get tickets for $1 or $2. One time in Fredonia the clerk figured out I was a college student because I sounded like I was from downstate rather than WNY & asked me for my license, but I was too good at it & said "I'm 14, I don't have a license". I ended up with the ticket.

50 years ago I was a much bigger basketball fan than a football fan. During the 71-72 season I saw every team play at least once in both the NBA, mostly Braves games in the Aud & ABA, mostly Nets games in Nassau County. I went to the Braves games while in Fredonia & then I'd go home for semester breaks in South Hempstead. I saw games in Toronto (ABA doubleheader), Madison Square Garden, and the strangest place I ever saw a pro basketball game Uniontown Pa high school. The reason I went to Uniontown was the only team that was missing was the Utah Stars. They had a game scheduled in Pittsburgh & I figured t was the closest place to see Utah. So I drove down to Pittsburgh & when I got to the Civic Arena I was told the game was moved to Uniontown. I had to drive another 40 miles or so & got to the high school pretty early. I ended up sitting with some of the Pittsburgh Condors players while the preliminary high school game was being played. I remember talking with Dave "Big Daddy" Lattin & I told him I'd be going to the Condors at Nets game during my semester break. I ended up seeing him in the parking lot as the team bus unloaded at the Nassau Coliseum for the Nets game & I said "Remember Uniontown" He then offered me a ticket but I already had one so I thanked him & we went our separate ways. I didn't go to my 1st NFL game until 1973 when Rich Stadium opened. I eventually followed the NFL more than the NBA (post ABA merger) mainly because the Braves left Buffalo for San Diego & the Nets left LI for New Jersey.

Colin Cowherd's QB Dominoes for the 2021 Off-Season
Albany,n.y. replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't buy this not NFL ready nonsense that Cowherd is trying to sell. They said that about Josh Allen and I believe that starting as a rookie was very important in his development. I'd rather have a raw rookie learn on the job than sit on the bench. Just look at the teams that tried to keep a rookie on the bench in favor of Tyrod. Both Mayfield & Herbert thrived as rookies when the plan was to keep them on the bench. -
Jason Sanders new contract for Miami
Albany,n.y. replied to Utah John's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The answer is obvious. They paid Christie $2.2 million over 4 years ($550,000 average) when Polian stole him from Tampa Bay. His later contract extensions were in the $750-800,000 range. -
10 unused tickets to "The Comeback"
Albany,n.y. replied to Bills4life1924's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Those were end zone seats, My seat in the upper deck was $34. What's really nice & makes them special is back in those days they tore the tickets, so anyone with a used ticket stub doesn't have a whole ticket like the unused ones. I looked up tickets on Ebay & there were 2 from the comeback game for sale, both used & torn. The one in better condition was asking $99 & the other, not as good was asking $74.95. Both had an additional shipping fee of $2.95. They even used to tear the Super Bowl tickets back then, although they had them perforated and only tore off about an inch or 2 on the bottom of the ticket which was designed to be kept as a souvenir. -

Karen wants an apology from Brady.

When Josh won the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, he started throwing the potatoes in the bowl and all that was left was the empty bowl. If her father was a potato farmer she would have been all over Josh's case. It's a good thing her father wasn't CEO of Charmin. -

He would have if he heard it coming off the boat. Unfortunately he has sobered up and being image conscious when he's not fall down drunk, the window of opportunity has closed. -
We're not bashing Watson, we're just saying Josh is better and even in his rookie year with no talent around him he still won 5 of his 11 starts, something Watson, when saddled with a bad team couldn't do. Don't be stupid (to use your word) & use the 9th best rushing #s in 2018 when you know, or should know, that Josh Allen was the leading rusher on that team. Let's take both Allen out of the 2018 Bills rushing stats where he rushed for 631 yards on 89 attempts for a lofty 7.1 yards per carry in 10 starts and parts of another two games and Watson in 2020 where he rushed 90 times for 444 yards for a 4.93 yards per carry (while NOT being the team's leading rusher). What you're left with is the Bills 2018 yards per carry was a pedestrian 3.56, while the Texans rushers, who had fewer carries than the 2018 Bills because they had a better receiving corps with a veteran to throw to them , ran for 4.02 yards per carry without Watson's rushing plays. To show how bad the Bills running game was in 2018 without infusing Josh Allen into the stats, the most telling thing is that none of the 2018 halfbacks were on the 2019 team. If the Bills running game was as good as you say, why was the only guy back in 2019 FB Pat Demarco who had only 1 carry for 9 yards in 2018 and did not affect the Bills 2018 rushing stats?

Josh is better than Watson & always will be. Watson was 4-12 this past season. No team with Josh Allen as the starting QB would ever go 4-12. Even in Josh's rookie year, with no offensive line or WRs, Josh willed the team to 5 wins out of the 11 games he started. Watson loses, Josh wins. Wins are the most important statistic because a QB makes everyone around him better. Josh does that, Watson doesn't.

Same problem with other guys who look good when they're running around in shorts, but once a team puts the pads on him he's a bum. -
A Few Thoughts About The Alabama Draft Class.....

Back in the days when Mike Williams was playing RT I used to go to every game with Petrino & every time fat Mike messed up I'd turn to John & say to him "Should have drafted Mckinney" -
You didn't learn anything from this year's game. You never want to play a team in their home stadium in the Super Bowl. It's a huge unfair advantage. I said from the beginning of the playoffs that if Tampa won the NFC, it would be too hard for the AFC to win this year. If the Rams are in next year's Super Bowl they're a lock to win the game. Same thing goes for the Chargers if it's any NFC team other than the Rams.

Super Bowl ticket prices. What would you pay?
Albany,n.y. replied to BITE ME's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm pretty sure the prices quoted in the article don't include service fees. On Location fee was 18% this year. -
Unfortunately I passed on betting the game because I bet other stuff with my gambling money, but as I said home fie!d was huge. Fortunately I won the other bets so it all worked out.

Would the Bills have beaten the Bucs?
Albany,n.y. replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
People are overlooking the obvious. So before the conference fans I said there was no way I wanted Tampa to win the NFC because they would have a huge advantage due to playing at home. Everyone underestimated how big that advantage was. It was even bigger when the league ruled that the Super Bowl teams wouldn't travel to Tampa until right before the game. Tampa would have beaten any AFC team because they had an unfair advantage. -
