To those of you at TBD who are much more football savvy than me, I’m a layman, no shame admitting that. How do you feel about our run blocking and which type of RB to take and when? As a layman, at 30 I like going BPA and from what I’ve read and heard in various outlets, there’s not much difference between 30 and the next dozen (though if Harris is there great but I think we have to move up and I’d rather go down a little for an extra 3rd, get a big 1 technique DT earlier than later—here’s the Drafttek pick value link: https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp) Running behind a ‘Bama line and running behind the run blocking line we have is very different (our OL is last year’s, I assume with Ford, who many don’t seem to feel is the player we moved up to draft—as an OT mind you—think the Williams re-signing puts that to bed).

What’s your earliest memory of the Buffalo Bills?

Like many of my generation, it’s the memories of my childhood hero, OJ Simpson—he ran with grace, agility, speed and power. Watching the old highlights of him running with the ball will always amaze me (he’s in that special class of all time greats). -
What are the chances we resign Milano?

Too much $$. Some good players available in the draft to replace him. -

You need an o-line that can block for any RB—one you draft or one already on your team. It’s a sad testament to our running game that Josh is our biggest running threat (and each time he runs he’s one hit, twisted knee or torn ACL or MCL from the season ending, and God forbid, our franchise QB’s career from being over. GET OUR BOY SOME HELP ON THE O LINE. And, dump as much garbage as you can on the D-Line—trenches are where it all starts. BTW—no one can run behind that line and make it look good (except maybe OJ—it makes me shudder to utter that name—though the inadvertent rhyme was a bonus!). I love the off-season and all our bickering based on speculation. We have a good team, it’s a pleasure to be able to have discussions like this as opposed to discussions about overhauling the entire team instead of plugging holes. Like the Alka-Seltzer commercials from days past, oh what a relief it is! -
Beane failed with his d-line moves this past off season (and he had a lot to invest—thankfully he was smart and can get us out of most of the bad deals). I appreciate what he’s done but he’s gotta own the bad along with the good. It all starts up front with the d-line and has a domino effect—that pressure was always how you beat Brady—ask the Giants’ teams. Hope Beane can make something happen but with the Covid cap issue and not having a surplus of picks, it’s going to be hard. That’s why I agree—a couple more years. We did great this year and are on the right track looking back (I personally think ahead) so let’s not all get negative. Having arrived sooner than expected puts pressure on us too, this offseason will be very important.

Josh’s progress in year three and the Diggs trade give me hope. Beane has his hands full—player and coaching (not gonna get into McD but we all know where).
