  1. Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying Or, perhaps, i'm expressing concern that there are some worrying things on this team, and the coaching staff doesn't seem able or interested in fixing them. The Jets will be an acid test. I hope the Bills win by 99 points, but since that might require being able to score from within the 5 yard line, i won't hold my breath.
  2. Yeah that's great but did you watch the game Sunday? The performance against the Dolphins was nothing to be proud of either. You seem like a guy who should bet the Bills this week, -13.5, have the courage of your convictions
  3. Yup. Until the Bills can string together a competent performance on O, there's no reason to think they'll cover a 13.5 point spread. Based on the last couple weeks, 13.5 might qualify as an over, not a spread. The Jets have some talent on the DL, and we're going to see them get after Allen. We'll see if Dabol can come up with something to counter the pressure that doesn't involve #17 running 27 times.
  4. Reading is fundamental. "Bottom feeder" in my post refers to the opponents. First, Jacksonville, then the Jets. If you think losing to the Jags isn't a huge problem, then I don't know what to tell you. A loss to the Jets is lights out for this season. Even if we somehow fall backwards into the playoffs, we're not going to beat a winning team on the road. Regarding point #2, if you're resting your hopes on a 5th round OL pick that basically nobody heard of 6 weeks ago, that his return will fix the Bills problems, then yeah, you're a homer.
  5. The Bills have beat 1 team with a winning record. i think i'd tap the brakes on the super bowl talk until they beat a quality opponent. In fact, let's start with beating a bottom feeder and work out from there Do you believe that the Buffalo Bills, as constituted today, are the best team in the NFL?
  6. you’re right about one thing. Now’s the time for that bet.
  7. Yeah to be clear, he played like hot garbage yesterday To be more clear, he was probably the best player on our O Josh Allen failing is pretty far down my list of concerns. The O-line playing with JV level competence would be a massive improvement. I'd be giving those huge contracts they handed out a long look
  8. Agreed. All focus has to be on the Jets. The Bills better be in control from the kickoff. I have a bad feeling though. Unless the Bills OL gets its act together this week it'll be another long Sunday. Watching them lose sucks strait up, but watching a boring grind of a game like yesterday, it's not worth the time. This might be a good one to DVR and catch up with after, or not!
  9. All it's going to take is a big play early and the Jets will get hyped and it'll be another long day. The Bills are a delicate flower that are finesse based. All I'll ask of the O if that's the case is to take as long as they can off the clock in 3 downs to give the D a breather. Who knows, maybe the Jets will fumble 90 yards into their own end zone and we'll have a shot at the mysterious and nearly unachievable 'touchdown'
  10. We could always do worse, like we are right now
  11. The problem with the current DL drafting philosophy is that you're spending your highest draft picks on part time players. Are any of the DL getting more than 50% of the snaps? Sure, the rotation is good but if we cant keep our QB upright, even holding the other team to 9 points isn't going to be enough. We'll see if our O can achieve double digit points against the jets
  12. Alternatively, Yes So let's run with your take, that the Jets game isn't looming extra large this season. Let's say the Bills lay another big turd and lose Now they're 5-4 with Indy coming in next week. What do you think will change between the Jets game and Indy game to make you think the Bills can beat a .500 team? Frank Reich is a great coach, and has functional vision. in other words, he can see that you can beat the Bills by dropping 7 every play. That's all the Bills are going to see until they prove they can beat it. Does dogballs have it in him to figure out some plays to get around that, or will we see more of the same? to finish my thought, if the Bills manage to fudge up the next 2 games, that'll be 3 in a row, and they'll be .500 and probably looking up at the Pats. they're simply not built to overcome that
  13. Yup, that's really the big takeaway here. Urban Meyer is Rex Ryan without the charm. McD does not get a pass. I'm starting to think he;s a better coach at getting to .500 with a lousy team than getting to .750 with good one
  14. It's hard to win in the NFL, a great coach once said
  15. New Bills catchphrase alert "On any given Sunday, the Bills can, nay WILL, lose to any team, regardless of record, discretion, or valor"
  16. Just imagine getting thoroughly outcoached by that guy. I hope McD is miserable today
  17. What you're describing is culture though. working hard every week, showing up each and every game, minimizing mental mistakes. If that's not culture than what is? And if it is culture (and it is) then either McD is preaching a bad culture, or he's lost the locker room
  18. We've already seen it. When DL are there before the WR can get to the outside it's a guaranteed loss of yards also while we're talking about cutesy playcalling, let's have more of those passes that are 5 yards behind the LoS to the sideline to the RB that always lose at least 3. Surely one of them will break for a big gainer!
  19. Not that I expect genial HC McD to sully himself in this regard, but I'd make the team watch the game over and over again. Before practice, during practice, and after practice. If there's a single molecule of pride anywhere on that team it'll piss them off
  20. You joke but the cancer is already in the locker room Not saying OBJ would make things better but what we saw yesterday, and even last week, is a team that is a team in name only, a bunch of guys in business for themselves
  21. It really is a 100% honest read of what happened. The Jags played with heart, the Bills played like a team who would prefer to avoid the playoffs. Not sure why, is it coaching, a toxic mix of players, some other factor?
  22. Remember when House Ballard whiffed on a block and after getting up off the carpet, Jim Kelly grabbed him by the face mask, pulled his head down to his level, and raged at him, in front of God and Everyone? good times, man
  23. I think this as well. There's something we don't know. The OL doesn't care if Allen gets killed or not, and don't appear to want to break a sweat either way
