Yeah, that would seem to be the Bills trajectory here. This regime is disinclined to make big changes in any case

Bills players were done with this year
dorquemada replied to Billzgobowlin's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd love to get an insiders perspective as to why they came out so flat yesterday. That game was over 7 minutes into the first quarter. I think we all realized it but hoped for Superman Josh to show up. If I had to hand out game balls for the Bills the list would be: Hamlin? Knox? Honestly that's the best I can do. Maybe Beas? the bar is pretty low but that was such a low effort performance it was just embarrassing. Made more so by the fact that they looked like a team from Florida who never saw snow before. Astute observation! I've worked in Sales organizations where everyone were friends, happy hour after work, attending eachothers kids parties and so on. Great places to work! But we didnt move many widgets. Then I've been in others where there was backstabbing, toxic people, and so on, but people got to number and everyone made money. Counter intuitive but I guess people can get comfortable and lose focus on the reason they are there. -

ALL SEASON that soft zone let up 3rd and long over and over again. Does any other playoff team play that? -

At least in that game we got superman josh at the end and it was exciting. This game was garbage and the Bills put in an insulting effort. I almost bought tickets for my son and I to go to this game and i am patting myself on the back today -

When you look at this team as a whole, i'm not sure I see a single star outside of Allen, Diggs, and Milano. Every single other player needs to be looked at from a cost/benefit ratio, and terminate with extreme prejudice. Someone else brought up the example of KC turning over their whole OL in 1 year. I watched them Saturday and their OL appears to be light years better than ours. I said it a few months back here, maybe after the Vikings game. Something has been off with this team for the back half of the season. Yeah, the blizzard, Hamlin, etc, but i cant help but feel there's something else going on. Even Allen completely lacked fire yesterday. Has McD's style run it's course? -

I've never seen a softer DL in a playoff game before. Blown up on every.single.play. They made the substitute Cincy OL look like the 93 Cowboys -
Bills injury report best in quite awhile

Agreed, though still waiting for McKenzie to have one of his periodic amazing games -
Find a way to keep him. I have faith in Beane on this. The Bills are a better team and the D is a lot more steady when he's in. His presence allows the DBs to swing for the fences more, and has the passion that the D seems to otherwise lack in his absence. Git r done Beane!

I think I've mentioned before that years back i had done a game predicting algorithm in SAS then SPSS. The first thing I did was to feed it data and look for correlations between specific stats (net turnovers, point differential, passing vs running, etc), and W/L record. Long story short, at least in the early 90s, there was, in fact, a correlation between turnovers and W/L but it was weak

What gets fixed this post season - Offensively and Defensely

Seriously, it’s completely allowed and ok to throw the ball 6-15 yards downfield. It’s not even a penalty! -

Lawrence Taylor and Ronnie Lott, but 6'5 and a good cook -
Of all of these, Beas feels like the lowest hanging fruit. No question we've missed a reliable 3rd down slot receiver who can get 7 yards. Looking back at the 3 games we lost, it absolutely feels like Beas could have helped keep a few drives alive, which might well have made the difference.

What if the Bills refuse to play the Patriots?
dorquemada replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Most people are capable of complex emotions. An example of this might be "it's with a heavy heart that I step back out onto this field while #3's fate is unknown" or the opposite of which is "I'm not going to do a goddamned thing until i know 100% that #3 is back in perfect health" Most adults (even young ones) have suffered loss and understand that times moves on and most dont have the luxury of waiting for optimal outcomes before getting back to the grind. None of this takes away from the dark cloud over everything while we wait out the situation, but rending our garments and wailing isn't going to get Hamlin well any faster. Sitting shiva, and similar ritual in dozens of cultures across the world has been practiced for thousands of years. Although not a perfect analogy because all indications at this point are that Hamlin is going to survive and hopefully have a full recovery, it remains a worthwhile philosophical approach to the current situation -

Most human beings have coping strategies when things get hard. I don't see how refusing to work is going to help any of them cope? Will they ever be expected to play again in your mind? -
That thought struck me as well. He is, through no real fault of his own, going to bear the burden of this the rest of his life. I work with a woman who ran over and killed a guy like 30 years ago. She wasn't charged because it was a dark rainy night, the guy was wearing all black, and basically jumped in front of her car, but its still with her

The Cinci fans have been 100% class, as someone else said. Many of the Cinci players have been great, and especially the coach. Having said that there did look to be some dirty pool going on. It's possible for all these things to be true.

My mom was a school psychologist. She forbade me from playing football, and I had a batting helmet that make me look like the Great Gazoo. She had seen too many young men getting concussed and having awful downstream consequences. This was the 1970s when 'getting your bell rung' was a sign that you were playing hard. I was mad about it at the time, but I get it now.
