  1. The Blitzing was pitiful. I've never seen anything so tentative and ineffective in my life. Like guys had no idea what they were supposed to be doing, waiting to blitz long enough so they were assured to not get to Burrow, but also too committed to the blitz to help in coverage. I've seen more disciplined D play at spring football tryouts in college. I'm not sure if that's scared, or just that our D is bad. They're poorly coached if nothing else.
  2. Agreed, Allen is far from the main reason we are not good at playing football now. We've come to rely on him to cover for a lot of other issues, but now that The Very Smartest People have coached that out of him, we're not going to get that, and he looks like an above average QB that isn't going to hero ball his way to victories the way he did before. No, most of the blame falls on Beane and McD, and his little friend Dorkey. We have an elderly and infirm D, and a whole lotta sub-JAG level guys on O, and a game plan that doesn't play to any existing strength, but rather is too cute by half on O, and just bad on D
  3. This team is a reflection of the coach. The game has passed him by, and whatever his management style is (clapping? who tf does that?) does not work with the type of players that are on this team. Hiring Dorkey as OC absolutely wreaks of nepotism or at least lazy hiring. Nonetheless, it's hard to win in the NFL, Dr Dawkinstein
  4. It's more plausible than the same D that allowed Cinci to march up and down the field all of a sudden found their inner strength and decided to start tackling
  5. It's a sign that the Bengals took their foot off the gas. It's nothing the Bills did. They watched our geriatric secondary struggling to catch their breath and took mercy
  6. certainly matches the eye test. They can't stop anybody, especially when it counts. Thank God we spent most of our draft capital on the D so we can watch opponents march up and down the field
  7. we'll see over the next 2 weeks who has the worse O. Buffalo is back to being the get well game for other teams. BTW we've already scored fewer points head to head against 2 of the teams you listed. I'm sure there's advanced statistics to suggest that ACKSHUALLY the Bills have a better O but the proof is in the pudding
  8. Cyclone of insanity makes it sound cool. Our Offense is not cool, it's boring, lazy, and stupid. Like we have a junior varsity OC and a team barely capable of grasping anything more complex than gradeschool arithmetic How about Cyclone of Mediocrity, or The Downward Spiral? Let's make being bad at football at least sound cool!
  9. There are not 25 offenses worse in the league right now. Like last year, we peaked a few games in and have been on a downward slope since. Today, we are no better than the middle of the league, and it would appear that the league has figured out Dorkey's capgun O
  10. "Try harder guys, if you don't we might actually win this thing!" - Coach McD halftime pep talk last night
  11. Yeah this offense is strait up bad now. I have zero faith in them scoring when needed. They're BORING. Im not sure I ever remember a Bills team as heavily hyped as this one, with such middling results. Maybe Rex Ryan's 'building a bully' team? They look slow and disinterested. The Jets are going eat them alive again.
  12. The reality is that our O is neither explosive or even particularly efficient. I don't care what some stupid made up this year stat says, the O is a mess, from playcalling to execution. It's so simple, opposing DCs have figured it out to the point that the Cinci D knew exactly what the safeties were doing on a given play. Normally I can't stand Chris Collinsworth but it was worse last night because he seemed to actually pity the Bills, like what the hell happened to you guys. I wish the fact that we suck now would mean they would stop with the primetime games
  13. If Daquan Jones was the only thing making the Bills play disciplined D, staying in lanes and not overpursuing, then yeah they were never going anywhere this year and we can all relax.
  14. Yeah this really is the question. We've overspent on over the hill players and guys who will never be best of breed. Tre and Von are never going to be any better than merely adequate again. Knox? I'd give him another year
  15. While Buffalo CBs play at least 15 yards off the WRs and our safeties take naps
  16. Von needs to get back to IR. He's not helping. If the Bills somehow fall ass backwards into the playoffs maybe reactivate him so we can watch in wonder as he arcs 20 yards past the QB as we watch middling RBs run right past where he should have been. You don't get to see that sort of talent just anywhere
  17. Here's what will actually happen. The Bills will blow 5 of the next 6, then look great the last two. We'll miss the playoffs (by at least 2 games!) but because we win a couple at the end, management will keep McD and Beane in place. We'll draft 5 or 6 CBs and a high motor undersized DT, then get a gave davis type receiver in FA. Rather than cutting our losses, we'll keep our AARP defensive backfield intact, even if we don't get more than half a season out of any of them. Lather, rinse, repeat, so goeth the glory era that never was
  18. The Bengals let their foot off the gas in the 2nd half. I bet they're complaining about that on whatever their fan forum is. Again, they physically dominated the Bills to start the game, which is becoming a theme. It's actually becoming a tiresome act with them - oh, it's late in the 4th quarter, let's turn it on! It's getting hard to take them seriously when they just bring the same undisciplined soft nonsense game after game. Good enough to beat the bottom feeders, nowhere near good enough to compete with winning teams. They'll be running for the bus by halftime next week and we can all get our sundays back. I'm looking forward to next season after we dump a bunch of overpaid underperforming vets and let Davis walk
  19. Not just the D either. This team hasn't beat anyone good yet, with the partial exception of Miami. And Miami can't beat anyone good either. This is a 9-8 or 8-9 team, though Im not sure where the 3 wins are coming from to get us up to 8 given the lackadaisical coaching and JV level play Why is spencer brown still on this team?
  20. TBD posters are more committed to the Buffalo Bills than the guys getting a paycheck from them, it would seem
  21. THere's no sure win left on the schedule the way they are sleepwalking through games, Allen or no Allen
  22. someone else may have said this, but defending against Allen is somewhat like defending against Tua. Take away the first read and make them think through the progression. Neither of them are particularly capable of that, and because our playbook is about as innovative as a day old loaf of wonderbread, Allen stands back there dumbfounded until he gets sacked
  23. The Bills can't field a modern offense if we have to keep our 83 year old RB2 in to assist Brown on every play lest Allen get his head taken off. Who is behind Brown? He can't possibly be worse
  24. Not sure! There's no game on that list that I would put money on the Bills winning. They're not getting to 10 wins. Denver is a question mark, but certainly getting better while the Bills are getting worse. If the Bills have any professional pride whatsoever they win this game running away but they don't so they won't. Watch for an even less creative O next week as the coaching staff shrinks from the moment. Allen's sulky teenager act continues. The Jets have our number. Their D is too good and our O is an uncoordinated mess that only works under a very specific set of circumstances that the Jets are not obliged to provide. This game is where the wheels completely come off, which leads to Eagles, Chiefs, Cowboys, Chargers. I dont see a win in any of those, maybe LA, but not if they are fighting for a playoff spot. There is real potential for a 0-7 run here, and this team is not built to stop a slide. After that it really doesn't matter. I suppose they come back and look good in wins over the Pats and Miami, but it'll be too late and only move us down the draft order, and probably convince the Pegulas to give McD another chance. This team is mentally as soft as tissue paper, and aren't even entertaining any more.
  25. I've been saying for a couple years that there is a cancer on this team. Is it McD? It looks to me like the players have given up. I'd have left Spencer Brown in Cinci if I were running the team
