Bill O’Brien - thoughts about him as OC?
dorquemada replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's not the greatest OC but did OK at Alabama this year given their unusual lack of talent at WR. I'm not happy he's at NE, i expect he'll get the most out of Macorkle -
Come on that's not fair. It takes a genius to have CBs be at least 10 yards away from all eligible receivers at all times.
-
well, he's not gassed

We're getting a piss poor ROI on all the investment on D. We'll be digging out from that hole for years, so I agree, i'd rather see us become an offensive juggernaut with a crummy D than a hobbled offense with a crummy D

I was wrong about home field advantage…
dorquemada replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed. If Tua plays, even brain bruised Tua, Miami wins that game by at least 10 The OL was clearly exhausted from getting out of the way of those mean cincy DL all day -
13 Seconds Will Sting for a While Longer...
dorquemada replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
Lol, it's ok to be miserable today, while still enjoying being a fan of the Buffalo Bills It's also OK (and probably the rational take) to realize that 13 seconds might be the zenith for the current iteration of this team. half of the AFC got better while we stood still. I'm not sure this regime has a plan to get better than they are right now, which is strong regular season team, early playoff exit. Sort of like the Dolphins during our glory era. -

They looked pretty bad last week and were lucky to draw the Dolphins. Homefield used to mean watching visiting teams struggle in the snow. Deeply ironic that we've now built a team that requires perfect weather conditions to perform -
Time to go all in on the OL - The grades
dorquemada replied to ArdmoreRyno's topic in The Stadium Wall
I realize you can't replace the entire OL in one offseason. Let's say we can keep 2 guys, who are they? Is Dorkins worth keeping? -
A DL to keep us from getting any further. Look fearsome against terrible teams, fade away against tougher teams, get weaker as the year goes on, can't play in the elements

Saffold said guys were "exhausted" this week and "out of gas"
dorquemada replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Whatever other factors contributed, I'm sure this is at least part of the issue. As long as there isn't a tell all that comes out later saying they were all up drinking and puking their guts out Saturday night, i'm willing to chalk this up to a confluence of unforseen events. -
Is McDermott Really Marty Shottenheimer in Disguise?
dorquemada replied to Barnaby Wilde's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ah, what could have been. Patrick Mahomes and the 29 Early Round Defensive Lineman -
Orlovsky: Bills aren't as talented offensively as we thought
dorquemada replied to Billz4ever's topic in The Stadium Wall
Semi related, allen's last throw, the INT, he stepped into that, wound up, looked like he gave it everything he had, and it still was a soft fart that was way short. His elbow is obviously bad right now -
Ah, 12th dimensional chess! Hire an incapable HC, go 2-15 a couple years in a row, land your own Burrow/Chase combo, win!

McBeane's constant use of premium draft picks on role players
dorquemada replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Against a replacement level OL. It reminds me of when the Bills were win and in (2005?) against the Steeler's 3rd stringers and couldnt get it done -
After the last few weeks, i'd settle for and improvement to 'kind of average'

dorquemada replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
I hate to see Poyer go, but at this stage i hope he gets paid. The Bills can't overpay for aging players. I'd even suggest that the Bills probably need a youth movement at this point because the vets they've put together seem to be regular season warriors. Give me a team that loses another game or two in the regular season but is sharp in the playoffs. We barely beat Miami last week against a 3rd string nobody QB, and reality came crashing in yesterday. This team, as constituted, will not win in high pressure games. -
How many Josh Allen prime years do they want to waste?
dorquemada replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
Again, I am clearly a world class idiot, but i simply cant make the math work where that alignment makes sense. Soft zone. Even the name is cringe. Every other team in the league finds CBs that can jam WRs then play man. Do we keep drafting wrong, or is something else at work? -

dorquemada replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
I get it that none of us are professional talent evaluators for NFL players, and all that, but what is the philosophical basis for ignoring the OL the last 3 years? -

Great, our own Aaron Rogers -
Yeah, that would seem to be the Bills trajectory here. This regime is disinclined to make big changes in any case

Bills players were done with this year
dorquemada replied to Billzgobowlin's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd love to get an insiders perspective as to why they came out so flat yesterday. That game was over 7 minutes into the first quarter. I think we all realized it but hoped for Superman Josh to show up. If I had to hand out game balls for the Bills the list would be: Hamlin? Knox? Honestly that's the best I can do. Maybe Beas? the bar is pretty low but that was such a low effort performance it was just embarrassing. Made more so by the fact that they looked like a team from Florida who never saw snow before. Astute observation! I've worked in Sales organizations where everyone were friends, happy hour after work, attending eachothers kids parties and so on. Great places to work! But we didnt move many widgets. Then I've been in others where there was backstabbing, toxic people, and so on, but people got to number and everyone made money. Counter intuitive but I guess people can get comfortable and lose focus on the reason they are there. -

ALL SEASON that soft zone let up 3rd and long over and over again. Does any other playoff team play that? -

At least in that game we got superman josh at the end and it was exciting. This game was garbage and the Bills put in an insulting effort. I almost bought tickets for my son and I to go to this game and i am patting myself on the back today -

When you look at this team as a whole, i'm not sure I see a single star outside of Allen, Diggs, and Milano. Every single other player needs to be looked at from a cost/benefit ratio, and terminate with extreme prejudice. Someone else brought up the example of KC turning over their whole OL in 1 year. I watched them Saturday and their OL appears to be light years better than ours. I said it a few months back here, maybe after the Vikings game. Something has been off with this team for the back half of the season. Yeah, the blizzard, Hamlin, etc, but i cant help but feel there's something else going on. Even Allen completely lacked fire yesterday. Has McD's style run it's course?
