Democratic 2020 Presidential Primary Thread
keepthefaith replied to snafu's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Trump if he didn't have such an abrasive and inarticulate style could have grabbed support of an additional 10%+ of Democrats over the past 3 years IMO. Neither party can get out of their own way way the other side is completely ***** up. -

Trump foreign policy

Al-Baghadadi or however it's spelled likely killed. -
What's become very obvious, and especially the past 3 years, is that the one skill that is necessary to ascend the ranks as a government worker or a politician is the absolute ability to look into the camera or testify with an emotionless and deadpanned look while stating anything factual or not. Pelosi, Schumer, Nadler, Schiff, Clapper, Comey, Brennan, McCabe and the nerdy gawky Mark Warner have all made a living at this in recent years. Gotta hand it to them, they are talented bullshiffers. Certainly same can be said for a bunch of Republicans as well. No way Clapper is as stupid a buffoon as he comes across. Well, actually in his case, maybe.

Agree. Hopefully Dems will bang on the White House door and demand some spending and entitlement cuts.

POTUS Trump: Build that Wall®, in Colorado!

I think he meant to say that a wall was being built around California to isolate all the liberal commie nuts. -
Trump on United States Constitution - "Phony"
keepthefaith replied to Warren Zevon's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Serious question, do you think Putin or other world leaders have a shred of respect for her? Doubtful and her brand has to be at an all-time low right now. She couldn't have played this loss to Trump any worse than she has. Her ego and thirst for power and control won't allow her to self assess. Your side should be embarrassed having invested so much in her only to see her true awful character come through over the past 3 years. -
Agree. He's only 22. Players this young can certainly get better.

Question for the Liberals/Progressives on the Forum
keepthefaith replied to Foxx's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It may be fact that Trump started with $1 million. It may also be fact that he was provided loans through has father in greater amounts and it may also be fact that he was given other funds at his Father's death. Even if $60 Million in total, he's turned that into a lot of money in a very risky business. Big real estate is risky and potentially very rewarding but also widely affected by swings in the economy. It's also a complex business. By any reasonable measure Trump has been successful in his business endeavors. If it were so easy more would do it. Few of our elected officials have even small business accomplishments worthy of praise. -
Trump on United States Constitution - "Phony"
keepthefaith replied to Warren Zevon's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Trump is a bit of a unique situation given that he has all these businesses and now that he's President, LOTS of people want to visit one of his properties even if just to have a drink in the bar because - TRUMP. Your linked article states that the Trump org paid the US Treasury $150K which the Trump org states is profit derived from groups of foreign diplomats staying at his properties. That sure seems like an effort to negate the benefits of this extra and potentially conflicted biz. Also, the sale of arms to SA has been ongoing and started long before Trump was President. Seems like he is simply continuing the policy of his predecessor and that of other countries that continue to sell arms to SA. We'll see how the lawsuits come out but seems like the government has a weak case to me. -

Rep. Elijah Cummings has passed away

He did seem older. Another example though of pols working until the grave. Many of these folks need to retire, have some fun while they still can and get off the power trip crack pipe. -
Democratic 2020 Presidential Primary Thread
keepthefaith replied to snafu's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
How much cash will Dem candidates burn through the primaries? A lot especially if it's competitive. It's one of the reasons incumbent Presidents so often win. They don't have to spend early. -
What good is that when only 1 can be the candidate and why then are they holding debates?

Given all of the irresponsible acts by the media and the political opposition, why on earth would he release his tax returns? They (media and political opposition) have proven over and over again that they can't/won't call balls and strikes but will rather use any information to push and create false narratives and run wild with them.
