  1. Either way the spending side needs attention.
  2. And someone needs to do a study on racial disparate impact.
  3. Traffic "Violence"? No disrespect to people who have lost family and friends in traffic accidents but she missed a golden opportunity to push the green new deal. Cash for clunkers II. Trade them in for bikes. Or mandate roll cages, 5 point harnesses, HANS devices, fire suits and helmets for all cars and drivers. Problem solved.
  4. Dumb on Trump's part to have made this decision unless he could show taxpayer savings. He never published any numbers to support that. The trolling effect of the left though was priceless.
  5. They're fitting right in like many good pols. Playing with campaign money doesn't usually result in more than a slap on the wrist, they all do it. These ladies are simply exploring the limits. They'll learn. No big deal.
  6. Lamar might be the biggest story in the NFL this season. Very few QBs even among first rounders play as well as he has so early in their careers. Hopefully he can stay healthy as he definitely takes risks with his running. He's fun to watch. Passing-wise in what little I've seen of him he looks to have a great command of the offense and is throwing the ball very well. He's obviously put in a lot of work to get to where he is so quickly. Bravo.
  7. My Congressional district went blue in '18 to Lauren Underwood a young freshman. I'll give her credit for not jumping in with "the squad" but she's pretty much been in lockstep with Nancy since taking office. She's not old enough or with enough experience so she falls in line because, well, she's learning the ropes. There are dozens like her. Our country really only needs 5 people to make a difference in Washington performance. Those being a Prez and the majority and minority leaders in the House and Senate. The rest would mostly fall in line. We have a Prez that loves to do deals and the Democrats would have a good chance of getting some of "their" things done with Trump but they instead have chosen R&R (resist and remove). Nancy is going to take being a complete asshat to the grave or damn close instead.
  8. I don't believe they are talented enough offensively to dominate any team unless they get a bunch of turnovers.
  9. The interview is more evidence that nobody on earth would pay him $50K a month or more for anything he might be capable of on his own.
  10. The Supreme Court is not limited to 9 justices.
  11. Ford vs Ferrari opens this weekend. Go see it.
  12. Why should Wall Street and investors be taxed to pay for people's continuing education?
  13. Your room and board point is a good one. Illinois wasn't smart enough to locate its State Universities near populations. Most are out in corn fields scattered in thinly populated parts of the state a long way from where people live so commuting from home isn't feasible. Meanwhile the largest junior college in the Chicago area is in the western burbs in a great commuter location but the state hasn't figured out that it would better serve taxpayers if it were a 4 year school. Illinois has among the highest cost in state schools also. University of Illinois tuition is over $15K/yr for in-state not including room and board and add $2K for engineering and other similar programs. A couple of the schools are a bit cheaper but compared to most state schools in other states they are pricey.
  14. Trump should announce his next judge appointment now and have the Senate take it up. No reason not too. If RBG is gonna hang on til death due to spite, then Trump should appoint a replacement so that the court has 9 healthy judges. It's like getting a new puppy when the old dog is on its last legs. She will be celebrated in that crowd more than any American ever.
  15. There is a simple answer here and that is to stop lending money to those that have a high likelihood of not paying it back. Most Colleges and Universities are either private or state run. They can figure out how to make college more affordable and how to make funds available. The Federal Government has no business being involved in this beyond some grants or scholarship programs.
  16. Yes, this is what happens to people that don't pay their debts. It's also what happens when 18 year olds with no income or assets are given loans. It's a risky transaction for both parties and since the government is now underwriting the loans it's another example of government gone bad. And the left which can't even run a student loan program soundly wants to manage all of health care.
  17. It's a blatantly dishonest and politically orchestrated proceeding. It is an example of our government at its very worst. Gosh what a better country we'd be if they just worked on some fiscal disciplines, put a lid on illegal immigration and made some sweeping changes to health insurance regulations rather than consuming what has been invested in electing 536 people to their positions on this impeachment horse *****.
  18. I'm surprised Joe Biden hasn't told us that Hunter was put on that board to prevent corruption.
  19. My wife did that totally drunk a few years ago in a downtown Chicago parking ramp while we were walking to car after a lonnnggggg night out. Glass doors leading to the elevator area. Face planted right into pane before I could push door open for her. Doink! Very funny moment after it happened. I don't think she remembered the next day.
  20. I'd like to see a stat that shows for all NFL teams for each game the frequency of 2 or more negative passing plays in a row. Define a negative passing play as one which results in: an incomplete pass, a sack, an interception, a penalty or a QB scramble for 2 yards or less. When your passing game generates consecutive bad plays often, drives often end. The Bills seem (don't have numbers to back this up) to have a lot of drives with consecutive bad plays in the passing game.
