  1. Drug addicts are not criminals. They are sick people that need help, and prosecution all of the thieves might create a disparate racial impact so it makes sense not to pursue these crimes. In Chicago you can have your car or contents of your car or your purse or wallet stolen and if you happen to know where those items went and you report to the police where your stuff is, the police will tell you point blank that they aren't going to pursue your property and that you the victim are not to attempt to recover your property.
  2. That's actually an exceptionally good idea for an annual awards show. I'll bet ratings would be quite good. On what network should it air? You'd want one with a lot of viewership but you really have to rule out ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN and Foxnews. NatGeo? The Discovery Channel? Spike?
  3. I don't think that's a fair comment at all. Being able to read defenses quickly and react is not his strong suit but that's not necessarily an intelligence thing. Some minds just do things like that better regardless of the underlying smarts. Example: Some people who are highly intelligent and drive a car all the time have a very hard time judging the difference between a quarter mile, half mile or 2 miles. They're intelligent but struggle at things like spacial relationships. By no means am I saying that TT should stay.
  4. So in the end, Democrats in Congress who screamed that an independent prosecutor was needed will expose their own party's involvement in the stop Trump effort while Trump and his people won't be prosecuted for anything other than a few minor process or tax infractions.
  5. But if it gets done and they participate they can take credit. The media will be happy to report that after decades of pressure and hard work by Democrats, Republicans and a Republican President finally caved in to the overwhelming moral public and political pressure.
  6. Trying to look beyond his/her past and qualifications or lackthereof and simply listening to the message while not laughing....That's what you want to say to potential voters in your first public message?
  7. So you don't think that Trump got the news of the false alarm before the media and ordinary citizens if he got news of the incident at all? Should Trump be weighing in on errors in local emergency systems? I give him credit for not calling the person who pushed the wrong button a dumbass. A missed opportunity on his part.
  8. Dems are being just plain stupid on this. Right in front of them is a chance to get legal status for nearly a million people for which they've been supporting. All they have to do is agree to some border security measures and immigration reforms which are no brainers. Trump has thrown that compromise right at their feet.
  9. Clearly there is a strong connection between the Federal Government budget and the DACA issue which is why dems want to tie it to the budget rather than unrelated issues of border security and immigration policy.
  10. Hardly. Chances of recovering an onside kick are what less than 10%? Chance that opposing team gets into field go range after recovering onside kick probably 50% or so. If you kick it deep you have a much better chance of getting the ball by forcing the other team to punt and you get the ball back with some time left as the Steelers had their timeouts. For sure the Jags would be playing it safe, running and not risking turnover. Either way odds are slim but you have to get the ball to win and the onside decision gives you the least chance of getting the ball. Vast majority of coaches would have kicked off. Tomlin rolled the dice and gave himself the longest odds. Even with that though no way he's fired, but he'll eat crow for that decision.
  11. Interesting take. Short of what you said, I'm rooting for the Jags to beat the Pats on their home field and then hoping the NFC wins the SB. Would like to see the Vikes get a SB win.
  12. It unfortunately fuels the narrative that Trump is a lunatic racist and gives the left another reason not to work with him. Lefties have another public opportunity to claim that they represent the moral high ground.
  13. Are 60 Senate votes required for bill that helps DACA folks, funds border security and revised immigration laws? If not then the R's just need to get it done but they probably can't get 50. They're almost as bad as D's on this one. D's don't want to solve immigration issues, budgetary issues or a few others. Without that they've got nothing to run on.
  14. Usually guys with shaved heads are not. Oh wait a minute?!
  15. The onside kick decision was horrible. He'll get ripped for that and rightfully so. A kickoff and a 3 and out or close which is far more likely than getting possession with an onside kick gets you the ball with some time still down by only 7. Bonehead call. Absolutely awful.
  16. Correct, he left because he could. He rolled the dice and didn't get Jets job but got away from Whaley and with a big check. Now he's working with a much more like minded Tom Coughlin and doing pretty well. Good for Doug and I'd say that given how all this worked he made made a good decision.
  17. Interesting info. It would be more relevant if picks by the Bills and Browns were excluded
  18. Oh bullcrap. Throwing a helmet or yelling or similar isn't violence. Emotions including anger are part of life and many aspects of life. Nothing wrong with anger as long as it doesn't result in hurting others. Very successful fortune 500 company I once worked for was full of people (many upper level managers) who flew off the handle from time to time over deals gone bad or stupidity on the part of others. Most talented group of people I ever worked with and that passion made a difference and I can tell you this is not uncommon in many other successful organizations regardless of what "experts" say or preach.
  19. Plan A, Least risky but most expensive. Try to sign a young veteran that can be a playoff winning QB now and for a few years. Cousins is the clear favorite here but Garropolo and Keenum could be targeted but those two are more risky unproven QBs. Not a Bridgewater or Bradford fan. Draft another developmental QB not in the first round. Use first round picks to address other needs. Plan B, Draft a near future potential long term starter and sign or trade for a veteran that is better than Taylor who is capable of being a starter for 2 seasons. Smith would be a good choice. If he's not available look at guys like Colt McCoy, AJ McCarron, Chad Henne, or Drew Stanton. I think the risk of QB play being worse than 2017 is low and this allows time for a rookie or young QB to develop. There is no plan C
  20. Some people were able to read the label on a 45RPM record going around. Others never could.
  21. You offer a lot to work with there, but is there anyone anywhere who is paying attention that doesn't see why some factions within the FBI are getting justly criticized for their dirty political deeds since 2016?
  22. You can if you are a soldier of the left and that demographic carve out helps fuel identity politics.
  23. You make some good points but McCoy would be a hard guy to replace. He's a great runner and receiver, leader, seems like a good locker room guy and really showed his heart in preparing and playing that last game. If I were McD, I'd be pushing back on Beane if he wanted to cut him. Now if he can be traded for good value, maybe a different story.
