Sad news...Kevin Greene dead at 58
BillsPride12 replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was an awesome football player. I remember when he was on WCW too. R.I.P. -
If we finish 13-3 which I think is completely realistic then I think he will get legit consideration. I would hope that they also take into consideration his overall body of work since he has come to Buffalo even though I know that's not how Coach of the Year works but McDermott is definitely deserving of it.

How do you know when Bills fans have gone too far?
BillsPride12 replied to John Gianelli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Makes you wonder what that chick would do for a Josh Allen jersey -
Just the fact that Josh is in the conversation for MVP with Mahomes and Rodgers in Year 3 already is a huge victory in itself! He probably won't actually win it this year but his time will come. His rapid progression has been through the charts when you think about the narrative on him in Years 1 and 2. Don't forget that there were BILLS fans going into this season that were still questioning if he was the real deal or not.

Happy for Jerry Hughes
BillsPride12 replied to SageAgainstTheMachine's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very happy for Hughes since he was here for the bad years for so long. I just wish the timing would've worked out where Kyle Williams could still be part of this -
While skimming through these replies it seems like most people agree that Winning the AFC East isn't going to bring any waterworks but I see everybody saying it would have to be for a Super Bowl win to get to that point....I am pretty sure I would be pretty emotional if we even just got back to a Super Bowl and the tears would be flowing then, anybody else think that would be enough to get the tear ducts going?

No. At this point the misfortunes of the drought years are well in the rear-view. If we still hadn't broken the playoff drought and winning the Division also meant clinching our first playoff spot then I think it's a completely different story. I didn't cry in 2017 because although I was very happy to get the monkey off our back it just didn't play out the way I always envisioned breaking the drought. We were a 9-7 team that had to rely on another game for us to actually get in there. It was cool but just wasn't as emotional to me as I always pictured because of the way it played out. I really wish last year when we beat Pittsburgh was when we could've officially ended the drought because that would've truly been on our terms. I do know even if we just won the AFC championship game to get back to a Super Bowl I would absolutely cry, and I mean winning a Super Bowl is a complete no brainer

Pegula & Players: SNOWBALL FIIIIIIIIIIIGHT

This team has really found the right balance between staying focused and having fun. I love it! -
Will other teams make draft mistakes because of Josh?
BillsPride12 replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While I can't speak on the other two it is now well known that Losman never put in the effort it took to be successful in the NFL. When he was drafted he came in with the rep that he was supposed to be a Jim Kelly, Brett Favre passionate love for the game kind've guy but he actually treated football like it was just a job to him. I just don't think Manuel or Edwards ever had the raw talent to succeed in the NFL. -
The Moby Dick Mentality
BillsPride12 replied to BillsShredder83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sure there would be some sort of planned celebrations down the road but even though it would be fun you wouldn't be able to replicate the pure ecstacy and emotion in the heat of the moment 6 months later. -
The Moby Dick Mentality
BillsPride12 replied to BillsShredder83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right. I do think it would be different if your a fan of a team that has already won a Super Bowl before. But for the Bills I want the whole package...massive tailgate parties, Bills fans invading the cities of opponents, a massive Super Bowl parade, packed bars etc. If the Bills went all the way this year of all seasons it would feel so anti-climatic -
The Moby Dick Mentality
BillsPride12 replied to BillsShredder83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My biggest worry right now is if we go all the way this year and we can't actually go to the games and have a parade etc....seriously how badly would that suck? For that reason there's a part of me that secretly doesn't want us to win the whole thing this year -
I've been trying to find the Bruce Smith version after the AFC championship game against the Raiders on YouTube or something but no luck so far. Do you know if that sound byte is out there anywhere on the internet?

Defense Peaking at Right Time!

#4 in the league in takeaways right now -
I would say Yes. I understand why some people are downplaying it as just another game but the way I see it as this team keeps growing the expectations keep rising. Just coming off a big win on a National Primetime game last week with a 9-3 record playing against the Mighty Pittsburgh Steelers who except for last year have had our number since the Kelly years. This is absolutely an important game for the Bills to win because it would signify the Bills have arrived and can be counted on to win these bigger games. No more moral victories. That is out the window now. Obviously the playoff games to follow this year will be bigger but at this moment I would have to say this would absolutely be the Bills biggest win in recent memory topping the Dallas and Pittsburgh games last year. Don't even bring the Baltimore-Cincy game to the table. It was nice the drought was broke but at the end of the day that was a 9-7 team that lucked into the playoffs. This time around the Bills are a legitimate team on the rise with the foundation in place of guys that are going to be here for a long time. We are in the driver seat of our destiny, no more worrying about how things fall into place so we can sneak out of the Hunt and into the wildcard.

Who is more instrumental in building the Bills?
BillsPride12 replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think this is one of those rare instances where the credit can equally be split right down the middle. And not just because they are both doing a great job but because of the way they work together -
R.I.P...I knew we weren't going to make it out of 2020 without at least one more round of bad news

To heck with the Pittsburgh Steelers
BillsPride12 replied to appoo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That game was right up there as one of the most heartbreaking Bills games of the Drought. You could honestly make a case for it as #1 -
Diggs has been laying out awesome downfield blocks all season. When we lost Robert Woods I was really disappointed but it wasn't only because of his receiving abilities but it was because he always played with some fire and was a nasty blocker. Diggs brings those exact same intangibles. That is the kind of guy you win with.

End of the Carson Wentz Era
BillsPride12 replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I never felt that but I remember when Wentz first came out onto the scene and at the time it looked like Philly found their franchise guy I remember just feeling so depressed that another team had found their guy and at that time it felt like the Bills were never going to get a true franchise QB. It's crazy how fast things can change in the NFL
