  1. Yep. I remember sending something very similar to this to My Aunt when she moved to Las Vegas back in the early 2000's. You can also tell how dated it is by the Thursday in the Square reference.
  2. Big difference between Lombardi and Gregg Williams though. Lombardi's players absolutely loved and respected the hell out of that guy. Gregg Williams was just a prick.
  3. After how much it was referenced after the Titans loss I'm surprised that Chiefs loss on MNF in 91 hasn't been brought up more in this thread. That's the one that sticks out to me. We got Thumped that night.
  4. Individually? No. I don't think any one of those guys would have had an extreme impact on the Defense getting derailed if it was just a matter of losing one of them. As a whole? I do think that has had a major impact on the regression of this Defense. You are talking about 4 out of 11 starters on a "sum of the parts" Defense. But if you look at the rest of my post you will see that I also think they were probably overrated to begin with due to having an easy schedule. So you take a defense that was already a bit inflated in terms of where they probably actually ranked and then take away 4 starters and replace them with guys who haven't been able to fill the role and that is why you are seeing such a drastic change in the Defense this year. Some people think it is some huge mystery but when you break it down it really isn't as puzzling as some people are making it out to be. Just my two cents.
  5. You can only go so far with a "sum of the parts" type of Defense. At some point you need to have ELITE talent to be an elite defense. We just don't have anybody on that level. We used high draft picks on guys like Edmunds and Oliver who were supposed to fill that role but they are not having that type of impact at the NFL level. I have watched a few Steelers games this year and they have playmakers all over the field on their Defense. The losses of Lorenzo, Star, Phillips, and Shaq are turning out to be much more significant than anybody was anticipating. Last year's defense probably did look a bit more inflated because of the level of competition they faced. After 6 games I think it's a matter of this Defense just isn't as good as most people thought or were expecting this year.
  6. Imagine how the other team's fans feel when they see them listed with the Bills
  7. Whether internet or no internet there will always be hot takes. That's just the way society is, look at everything going from a politics standpoint right now. I can only imagine some of the takes that were circulating around barstools throughout WNY back then.
  8. Harrison has not looked good at all this year. I have no problem admitting that. I am not sure if he is still dealing with lingering effects from the ACL injury so I am not ready to write him off completely yet but we should really know where he stands as an NFL caliber lineman by next year.
  9. Without even throwing blame at Beane because the salary cap is what it is but it really is a shame that it's structured where you are pretty much forced to cut ties with guys like Shaq Lawson and Jordan Phillips. With the way the defense was playing last year Continuity would've been great but I just don't see how they could afford to keep those guys with all of the contracts they have coming down the line. The guys they had to sign this year to bring in as replacements are just not living up to their expectations. I really hate the business side of pro football.
  10. That's interesting. I had the same observation about thinking Epenesa looked smaller but not being sure if it was just because he was surrounded by NFL players now compared to his college days. His bread and butter as an edge rusher was brute strength and power so I would be surprised if McDermott wanted him to play at a much lighter weight in the NFL.
  11. Edmunds was drafted to be a cornerstone of this defense and with that territory comes leadership responsibilities but you can't be the leader when you are just about the worst Defensive player on the field(not an exaggeration this season). I love Ed Oliver as a person, seems like a super cool dude but I think he might be too much of a fun-loving and laid back kinda guy to be a defensive leader and he isn't performing on the field right now either. This team is really lacking a Kyle Williams personality right now who can not only talk the talk but walk the walk and lead as an example and have guys respond.
  12. Although that loss really stung last night I had completely forgotten how hilarious and entertaining the call in shows and message boards can be the next day after a bad loss. This thread is turning into an all-time classic!
  13. C'mon guys this is a hell of an assumption! Although the Bills did look awful I highly doubt this was the case
  14. If these guys can somehow convince Kuechly to come out of retirement and take over Edmund's job at MLB then all is forgiven in my book
  15. Edmunds has been bad..regardless of where he was drafted
  16. Edmunds has looked absolutely horrible all season and it's clear as day. I don't think that's the case with Oliver as he has his moments where he can make plays but at the same time he was supposed to be a monster and a gamebreaker but he has really been just average up to this point. I've been saying for awhile this defense lacks elite talent. You aren't going to have a top defense in the NFL that can carry you to a championship without at least having one or two elite level players.
  17. Peanuts...preferably inside the shell of an M&M
  18. Danny. So it sounds like he sold the bar a year or two ago...does anybody know what happened to him? Sounds like he might have been fighting an illness for awhile. Sad news regardless
  19. I haven't seen any talk of this anywhere but I saw on Twitter recently the owner/founder of the Big Tree Inn passed away. I didn't know him personally but I did get a chance to shoot the ***** with him for awhile when I was in there one night. Great guy, I was sad to hear about this news. The Big Tree is a staple in Buffalo Bills history. Does anybody know what happened and if there are plans for the bar to continue to operate or is this pretty much the end of the Big Tree?
  20. This team is a stud edge rusher away from being a legit Super Bowl contender in my opinion
  21. Speaking of comparisons has anybody else thought about how Josh Allen is turning out to be everything JP Losman was promised as when he was drafted? 16 years too late but I'll take now over never
  22. He's got better odds than Bill O'Brien does at the moment
  23. I NEVER root for New England under any circumstance
  24. Sounds like an entertaining Doc. I'll put it on my list. Thanks
